Pretty spiffy. Let us know when it is complete.

Also, didn't PKI say that the reason KC was dismantled is because parts for the trains were becoming difficult to get? Yes, this was a large reason it was taken out.

I don't see anything wrong with the awnings. But, that is a really stupid place to post your menus.

My brother just got back from PKI yesterday. He went with a friend and their family. Although he did not see the Spongebob 3D, he said that two of his friends' kids went and they absolutely had a ball. He also got to try out the SDATHC and said that it was a lot of fun as well. Godd TR.

Do bears poop in the woods? Oh sure, and Grizzly Adams had a beard. (Think Happy Gilmore) I can't wait for the announcement. I will be coming here for the news, so be on top of it Boddah.

Personally, I don't think that getting rid of the campground is a good enough reason to not buy a season pass. I live three hours away and am considering a season pass for next year. In these cases, with people living only three hours away, it is a day trip and the only money you still need is for gas and food. But, like what was said earlier, to each his own.

Maybe most of you won't stay there, but I'm sure they will have no problem filling it up. Also, they may already have plans to get people from the lodge to the park. I like the way Cedar Point is set up. They have a few entrances thay you can use and offer the shuttle service as well. Even if PKI does not own the lodge, they'll make money off of renting the property to them. I still say more of the GP will utilize a hotel over a campground. If I'm not mistaken, there's more to this lodge than just rooms. So, it's not like you're paying $259.00 for just a room. So, how long of a walk are we talking here...5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes? I don't see how season pass sales have anything to do with it. People don't buy season passes based on their ability to stay at their campground. They buy them because they live close enough to frequent the park.

What I am saying is that sometimes, things are removed or moved in the name of progress. I know of many people that have complained for years that there is no place to stay on premises, not across the street or up the block. I would book a room every year if there was a hotel on site. I don't want to be bothered with having to catch a ride across the street...I want to be able to walk back and forth to my room without needing to wait on a scheduled ride. PKI is going to do what the General Public is asking for...obviously the GP wants a hotel on premises or they wouldn't be building one. It also means more money for PKI. You can make a lot more money off hotel rooms than you can renting camping sites. Anyone can enjoy a hotel, not everyone can utilize the campgrounds.

I like 'em!

I would check here before PKI's official web site. Someone will post about it here or at coasterbuzz before PKI will add it to their homepage.

If it is true that the campground will be replaced with a lodge, then everyone should be happy for PKI. They will finally have a place, on premises, to stay that isn't a campground. Wow, that's really horrible. How dare they improve your stay at King's Island.

Oooooooooh! Sorry for having an opinion.

On the Son of Beast. Afterwards, we can go for his and hers catscans.

That's an interesting point about the attendance, tggrr. With statistics, you can pretty much twist them to be whatever you want them to be.

Flight Commander was a problem with the restraints, but it was rider error as well. She was drunk and somehow slipped out of the restraints. I wonder what it would have been like to be there when it happened. I just can't imagine watching a ride and then somebody falling out. It's almost like you would wonder for a split second if what you saw really happened. It seems unbelievable.

I'll let you know next year after I make a three park trip tour that will include PKD, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, and Hersheypark. Otherwise, I'd have to say PKI since I have never been to PKD. Looking forward to that trip next year.

Yep...he's right.

The screamscape ultimate awards are in. Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle took the award for Ultimate Dark Ride Attraction. They also came close in several other categories including Best Wooden Coaster. Here's the link to the awards...Screamscape Ultimate Awards

Actually, I should have clarified what I meant. Before the metal detectors were installed, how many gun/knife incidents have there been. And, I mean someone stabbed or shot or brandishing, not just carrying. A lot of people carry pocket knives with them. Not to say that the gentleman you were referring to was just carrying a pocket knife.
-
I still think it is overkill. I would like to know if there have been any incidents involving knives and guns at PKI. As far as terrorists go, it seems that they are more interested in destroying major government buildings or American Icons like Disney or something of that nature.

It is true about the yellow line. Gemini at CP had the same yellow line rule, but I think they have air gates now. And, I heard the ride ops many times tell people to step behind the yellow line. It's their job and maintains a safe atmosphere.

I can see PKI getting the Italian Job ride. They have been claiming that PKI will be adding attractions that are more like what you see in the larger theme parks, thus moving closer to becoming a theme park. I personally would like to see the Addams Family coaster built at PKI, but I have a feeling we are going to get the Italian Job ride. But, we'll all know soon enough.

Well, if I'm wrong about the gas prices, then what do you suppose is contributing to less spending? Gas prices has to figure in somewhere. If you're spending more money on gas, then there's less in your pocket to spend.
