Myrtle Beach Moves To End Biker Weeks at The Grand Strand
Woofer, the article is talking about Myrltle, not Daytona. Easy mistake. I just brought up Daytona since I was recently there during bike week.

Myrtle Beach Moves To End Biker Weeks at The Grand Strand
Not that I'm a biker, but, why get rid of that week? It was bike week at Daytona and they didn't seem to be having any problems. Or, is the old stereotype of bikers still prevalant there? You know, that all bikers are dirty, want to start fights and trash everything. It's just not like that any more. And, they want to get rid of the graduates too? Who will be left to spend money there?

Go To Camden [Park] And Ride, Ride, Ride
I have a legitmate question about the Big Dipper's 50th anniversary. My grandmother is 86 years old and she rode Big Dipper when she was young. How is it that BD is only 50 years old? Anyway, this will be exciting for the park. Gonna try and make it there on the 18th, as a late birthday present to myself.

2 years later, are you happy CF purchased KI?
CF is infinitely better! Better shows, retro entertainment, 1 new and 1 relocated coaster, fixed SOB, and better program on the Crypt. The next thing that I would really like is a Johny Rockets.

Daytona Beach
Thanks for the advice, Avatar! Sounds like a good idea. I've never been actually out to sea before. We are planning on returning in a couple of years. Next year is going to be a coaster year since she is not able to ride anything this year. Couple that with the new B&M hyper coming and we are talking about a trip to CP for three days and KI for two.

New coaster name hints
Add me to that list. I would take a Star Wars themed hypercoaster any day!

MYSTERY NO MORE--KI BUILDING HYPERCOASTER
I agree. If they thought helixes were loops, then it wouldn't be a stretch to think they never even considered elevation changes.

New coaster name hints
This reminds me of everyone trying to figure out the name of CP's newest coaster before they announced Maverick. Lightning...interesting indeed. Please, no King Kobra name being brought back. I'd rather see The Bat name used again first.

Daytona Beach
I almost forgot about that. It was bike week the week we were there.

Daytona Beach
Well, the wife and I had a great time at Daytona Beach. We did not spend tons of money, but still had a great time. We pretty much ate in our resort the whole week while we were there. We went miniature golfing a lot. Some things we were able to do for free as the Concierge' service at our resort had coupons for certain places of entertainment. I would directly place pics in this thread, however, there are way too many for that. I took a total of 100+ pics. The Daytona Lagoon was where we spent a couple of days playing games, miniature golfed, and rode the go karts. There were also 9 water slides, but we weren't interested considering the resort had 2 outdoor pools (one with water slide), 2 indoor pools, and a lazy river. There was also a nine hole mini golf course inside the resort. You can see a pic where I took it from two floors up. The mini golf I loved the most was Pirate's Cove and Pirate's Island. You'll see several pics from both. Other than that, we spent most of our time in the ocean. It was also nice having cable for a week. We watched a lot of Spongebob, and a Ghost Hunters marathon. The weather was great every day. We had afternoon showers for about an hour/day. This was when we had come inside to beat the worst heat of the day anyway. Her being a red head, you have to closely monitor the amount of sun she gets. We had spf 50, so, we were well protected. If you have any questions about any of the pics, feel free to ask. Almost forgot. We flew by Allegiant Airlines from the Tri-State Airport in Huntington, WV. It was a 90 minute flight. You ascend to 33,000 ft, which takes 30 minutes. Then, you stay at 33,000 for 30 minutes, and then it's 30 minute descent into Orlando. We spent about $650.00 for four tickets and a rental car for the week. Luckily, I had already paid for that part with my tax return this year. It was an hour drive over to Daytona from Orlando. Enjoy the pics! Daytona Beach 2008

MYSTERY NO MORE--KI BUILDING HYPERCOASTER
Doesn't anyone read any more? This is not going to be a dive machine! I know that old dead horse is tired of his daily beatings.

Guests Say The Darnest Things
Good grief, Charlie Brown! (hint hint) Yeah, maybe not. That is funny that she actually thought KI was going to move.
-
Taft park placement
Well, I'm sure when the marketing dept. did their research on where to build KI and KD, there were reasons (of which I am not sure of) that both were placed directly off an interstate and near medium-sized cities.

Robbie Knievel: It's Not The Bones, It's The Ligaments
Like father, like son. I've seen many of his jumps and I am impressed with what he has done.

New Coaster at Carowinds
Has it even been said that they are replacing the train on Headspin? Not sure I read that anywhere.
-
New Coaster at Carowinds
Good for Carowinds. I prefer Head Spin to Face/Off, but I think I'm in the minority on that one. I've also heard that the super saturator's water elements haven't been working right for some time now. Not sure if that is true.

Busch Gardens Africa
Would you believe that we only blew $300.00 in 8 days? No joke! Granted, we had a kitchen and ate in our room most evenings. People were tellling me that I needed at least $500.00 to have a good time. They were WRONG!

Rollercoaster derails,Denmark
You're right about that. I've also heard that in California and other states, these carnivals often escape inspections.
-
Busch Gardens Africa
I agree! Go enjoy Cocoa Beach! Ride some waves! I just got back from Daytona and had a great week with no coasters. I would definitely go for some miniature golf and go karts if I were you!

Rollercoaster derails,Denmark
Thanks for the link! I've had dreams that ended like that. That's why I skip carnivals. Rides constantly being torn down and put back up do not have my confidence in their operation.

whats the deal
It has been awhile since this has been brought up. But it seems so fitting yet once again. http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/posting I never get tired of that!

Your link isn't working.

Hard rock park
Yes, save your money. My sister just went to MB the same week I was at Daytona and she said HRP pretty much disappointed. She said the Led Zepplin coaster is boring. She liked the Moody Blues dark ride, though. She said Maximum RPM coaster was more fun than the Led coaster. Not to mention she said she was none to happy to pay $43/ticket(found a discount) with so little to do.

tower johnny?
I think that the sprayers on WWC that are controlled by the people watching (and paying quarters) as you pass by can also be controlled by that last worker whom works the other sprayers on WWC when no one is putting quarters in

Cedar Point Changes Line Policy
^That's what I would like to know. What possible good could come of printing such things? Furthermore, what would be the purpose of said story? Are there that many readers interested in the steps to making cocaine, purely for educational purposes?
