There is no doubt about that. Eight years ago $1 Canadian = $1.59 American. Today both dollars are almost equal. I also believe that the title needs to change for this topic. Gas hit $3.99 today in NW PA. Actually you've got that backwards...eight years ago $1US=approximately $1.59 Canadian. By the way, the Canadians are very touchy about the "American" terminology. They are Americans, too...being inhabitants of North America. US citizens are not the only Americans... First time I went to Canada's Wonderland was on a supervisors trip. Well, we road in one of this 15 people vans. At the boarder, we were asked by the boarder guards to declare our citizenship. One of the supervisors said that they were "American." The boarder guard became very irritated and lectured them about their arrogance and that they were American as much as anyone in the van. LOL, lesson learned. And that was long before 9/11. I guess I can see their point. Except for the fact that we are the United States of America. It's not like they are called the Canadian Colonies of America, so why would anyone automatically think to call Canadians American? Sure, they wanted to be called American before 9/11, but I would bet that now they would rather be called Canadian than American. Interpreter, it seems Mr. Kinzel is straddling the fence so when this season ends, he can say that he was right whichever proves to be correct.

Sometimes, I have had to get on my wife about things she is touching inappropriately in line. Granted, she thinks no one can see what she is doing, but I am sure that there is always at least one person who notices. She gets a little aggravated with me, but then I remind her that there are young adults and children all around and I don't want them to think it's ok to do that in public. Well, truly she only did this a couple of times. The first time I kinda laughed it off, the second time I reminded her of what company we were in. After that, it's only quick kisses, hugs, and holding hands.

To Thrill Biscuit and Kwindshawne, that IS the truth. Kids do not fear ANY authoritative figures.

Reliable sources (Shaggy) have already hinted that it will not be a dive coaster.

One of my new favorite things to do at WWC is blow about $20.00 in quarters at the observation point. I just love soaking the riders as they come by.

I just paid $61.00 to fill up at Exxon at $4.19/gallon and I was on empty.

I'm wondering about the anti-roll backs too. Wild Cat may not be one of the megastars at CP, but I think it is far more fun than Blue Streak, Iron Dragon, and Disaster Transport.

Well, you can bet that prices will raise in anticipation of a hurricane. The don't actually care whether one hits or not, just so long as it threatens.

I figured Voodoo would go over well. It's a shame that when I rode it at GL, they weren't using the holding brake, so I've not had the chance to experience that. Funny thing is, it looks nothing like it did at GL. Nice paint job and the new trains look good.

I watched a little of myself on Raptor last year. It sounds like a cool idea, but it really wasn't all that great.

Thank you very much! I should confess, though. I have been to KI once, a while back, and did not ride one single coaster. It was back when I was about 22-24 yrs. old. I had back surgery and was told that I could not ride coasters for at least five years, if ever. I went anyway with my girlfriend at the time. I wound up having a blast anyway! At one point in the day, I couldn't help but look up at the skyline at the coasters and it kinda made me sad for a brief moment. However, just being there to share a special day and ride what we could made all the difference.

I would think mid-day Thursday would be when we can see the spike for Memorial Day. I was a little confused becasue the BP down the street from my work is selling gas for 3.69 a gallon and everywhere else is still in the 3.80's Here in West Virginia, they didn't wait until Thursday. Gas prices went up yesterday to $4.00. Edit***I just heard that it has already jumped to $4.19 in other areas in WV.

Thanks to all who responded. It will be of great help, providing we even go. She told me last night that now, she doesn't want to go because of not being able to ride the coasters. We'll see what happens. I'm not going to push it. Although I really hate to throw away $300.00. Bavarian Beetle, good advice. My boss took me aside and said, I'd like to explain to you, guy to guy, about what to expect in the next nine months. He said the first three months, she'll be sick all the time. The second three, she will be glowing and probably not sick any more. Finally, the last three, you won't be able to do or say anything right.

Thank you everyone, for the replies. Brwntggr, I will call guest relations and see what, if anything, can be done. We had to call once already and they did us one favor (which I won't mention as I don't want to get anyone in trouble). I like the idea of feeding fish and some people watching too. I know one thing, there is a waffle cone in my future.

As many of you know, I recently announced that I am going to be a daddy. I surely do appreciate all of the well wishes. I have CF season passes and I would like to go at least one time to KI. I am wanting to start a list of rides that we can ride, considering the situation. If anyone has this kind of information, please share with me as I would kinda like to get an idea of what we can ride before we make a plan to go. First, let me start by saying that we will definitely be catching some shows, so, no need to add those. And we also know that coasters are out. Let's start this with one that I know for sure we can do: (As a side note, if you don't mind, just copy the list as we go along so that I may have a final one that will be complete). How did the anti-roll back device fail?

The Bat was awesome! What you have read here are the reasons it closed. However, I remember hearing lots of other crazy stories about why it closed years later. One that comes to mind was how some girl had been thrown from the ride.

It seems some folks over at Pointbuzz are not convinced that it had crashed since it did not make the news. Not saying that it did or did not happen.

And here I thought the idea was to low ball when it comes to bidding.
