  1. I'm sure that Dominator will probably have very long lines this summer. It is an awesome coaster and I am sorry that this coaster moved so far away. By far, it was my favorite at GL.
  2. This move would not surprise me at all. I think that it would make more sense to shorten the name.
  3. Oh yeah...I thought it was absolutely hilarious. As if our laws apply over there.
  4. Are you kidding me? An adult version of the handcars? That was always my favorite ride at Camden. Which side of Pennsylvania is Idlewild on? Gordon, I just now noticed that you said three coasters. I agree that the Haunted House should count as a coaster. It has the chain lift and operates on gravity. Kinda reminds me of a wild mouse in a box.
  5. "Everything was as it should be or we wouldn't have allowed it to open," Malerbi said. "This is in the hands of the experts to figure out what malfunctioned." That's funny. I saw on the news where it was reported that the ride was making an unusual noise for at least an hour before this incident. Yet, no one bothered to see what was making said unusual noise? From what I have read, carnival rides are more dangerous (not saying it's true). A lot of them (not based in Ohio or California) manage to dip inspections.
  6. Seems the House of Representatives is trying to pass legislation to sue OPEC over price and limiting supply. Article here.
  7. I was there during the Freeway years. Some people got really upset when I "cut" (legally) in line in front of them. I thought it was going to get ugly. I did this on Raptor and Millennium Force.
  8. Just two years ago, during Fearfest, my wife and I were in line to ride The Beast at the end of the night. We were both worn out and were waiting for the front seat, which is typically long. Just as we were about to board, a man in a wheelchair was waiting at the exit side to get a ride in the front seat. The attendant came up to us and asked if the gentleman could get on instead of us. Sure, I was tired and kind of aggravated, but I just don't have the heart to say no. He was extremely grateful and in fact thanked us once he was seated.
  9. Excellent trip report, Ronny! I am so glad that someeone has finally gone there and can shed some light on what there is to do at CP. Too often, CP is overlooked for the amusement giants. While I love KI and Cedar Point, I grew up taking class trips to Camden at the end of the year. It was something that I always looked forward to. Of course, back in those days, it was $6.50 for an all day hand stamp or you had the option of paying .50 cents to get in and buy tickets to ride. And, even though the price has gone up and you have to pay for parking now, I feel it is worth it considering the amount of work the owners have put in to Camden. The Paratroopers, the Haunted House, and the Bullseye have all been recently painted. I myself, will be going with the wife and we are excited to try out the new miniature golf course. Except this time, I'll have to ride Big Dipper alone since my wife can no longer ride. Hopefully I can catch a ride on the Skydiver as I have never been on one of those.
  10. Glad to see it is getting rave reviews. I know coaster enthusiasts were not all that wild about the addition, but the GP is loving it.
  11. Sorry about that, Gordon. I won't make any more political comments. If gas goes to $7.00, I could see a whole lot of people looking for second or third incomes.

    New track?

It could also be done here, possibly. They now have Intaride USA ( I think an american branch of Inamin Worldwide). Not sure what all they have here, but there could be a manufacturing facility here. Or, maybe they contract someone else here in the states similar to what B&M does in Batavia.
  13. I know this goes against the TOS, but, even Hillary has metioned how there are way too many families that are one pink slip or one medical problem from winding up poor. If the candidates are acknowledging this, surely it really is an issue.
  14. Well, I hope to make a trip there this year. I've never been to Coney, and I'd love to experience something smaller than KI or CP (other than Camden Park). I think that is where they have found their niche. Considering where they are, they really could not compete with KI. So, why not go for the demographic that enjoys smaller parks and crowds?
  15. Bring back the clown band. They were highly entertaining and really funny. Never did catch an air show.
  16. Seems to me that their thinking is the same as Kinzel's. That attendance at amusement parks may rise due to people staying closer to home.
  17. ^That is the most intelligent post I've read in this entire thread.
  18. Ahhh, don't see that. How do you think this is an accurate statement? If you are not seeing this, then you are obviously blind. The middle class families have been disappearing for years...meaning they probably joined the have nots and not by choice. Actually don't see a lot of have nots any more. I can speak on this topic as I grew up DIRT POOR. I remember mom working two jobs just so that we could barely make it from week to week. I remember not being able to have a window replaced in the garage door because it cost $20 and that we'd not be able come up with that kind of money. A lot of people don't realize what poor really is in this day and age. Now granted, both sets of my parents have more money now than I'd be able to spend. (Darn Them! <G>) But ya just don't see a lot pure struggling like there was at one time. Just because YOU don't see the struggling doesn't mean it's not going on. I see it all the time. It's far worse than it has ever been.

  20. I'll bet it's not a Dive Machine(coaster). Shaggy has stated this at Coasterbuzz and I believe it.
  21. Wonder how the GP is responding to their "new" coaster? I personally liked it when it was at Geauga.
  22. And, you can partly attribute high gas prices to world demand going up. I read somewhere that there are more Chinese people buying cars than ever. And I'm sure they are not the only country demanding more. More world demand = less to go around to us.
  23. Here's a link to their page about the celebration of Big Dipper. You have to scroll to the very bottom of the page. Apparently, there will be fireworks. Camden Park Events
