I'd have to disagree. I think that it was very prudent for him to release the layout. He had access to the information and posted it. I think that it was further proof that Screamscape is a valuable source of information for park enthusiasts. When you take several shots at several fish in the proverbial barrel, you tend to hit one now and again. IMO, it barely raises his credibility, if there was any to begin with.

That's funny. I see one or two good names and a bunch of terrible names suggested. Not saying I could do better, but, a lot of these suggestions I'm reading are much more lame than what CF came up with.

I do agree about the confidence thing though. I'm sure parks would like to just throw ideas out there to get reactions. My only problem with that being that I would think the majority of readers of that site would be coaster enthusiasts...meaning they are not in the majority. Unless I'm wrong about who his readers are.

You think he was smart in releasing the layout of Maverick before CP made the announcement? They were pretty upset from what I understand.

In a word...no. There is a reason those who may know things do....it's called keeping things in confidence and having credibility. Keep your enthusiasm, though! Too bad Lance from Screamscape doesn't know a whole lot about credibility or keeping things in confidence.

I was thinking virtually everyone in the chain had Halloween Haunt. Apparently, I was wrong.

Just hope they don't cut in front of this woman.

I guess this will bring Dorney in line with the rest of the chain as far as Halloween events go.

I thought it was the ride op that didn't check his restraint properly. Shortening the seatbelts was just really assinine. The reason being a knee jerk over-reaction.

I thought the accident on Superman at SFNE was not Intamin's fault. You are the first person that I have heard state that Maverick was down a lot. I know it had some late openings, but never heard about it being down for days (not saying you said that). As far as the late opening on Maverick, I don't see how that was Intamin's fault either.

Are we basing their reliablility and safety purely on Top Thrill Dragster? It must be since the Superman hypers MF, WT, and Maverick have all ran pretty consistently. Not to mention, no accidents on the latter two.

I don't know if I would call it obsession. I'm sure Cedar Fair has an idea of what they want to do and B&M doesn't really go out and try new things as of lately. They seem to want to stick to what works and consistently, and they don't really push the envelope like they used to. As for KI's first Intamin, I'd like to see a hypercoaster. Of course, there is the specualtion that KI will get a B&M hyper in 2009. IF that happens, then I'd like to see something like Maverick that stays low to the ground, but is very fast.

It does look like another winner. I've never been on a B&M hyper.

Funny you should say that. I sent Lance an e-mail telling him that it looks like he gets his "inside" information from the KIC boards to which he replied that he didn't have enough time to read message boards. Of course, that doesn't mean one of his "inside" sources doesn't.

Cool. I think I will. I can't wait until they open again. I haven't been on Big Dipper in over 10 years. Same goes for all of their rides. I've been putting it off for way too long. They do seem to be really nice folks. The lady I spoke to about the bumper cars was just genuinely nice. I'll do a photo TR if I can get this to happen.
