At least it's not $4 a gallon ... yet :)
Well, you can bet that prices will raise in anticipation of a hurricane. The don't actually care whether one hits or not, just so long as it threatens.

Voodoo Enthralls
I figured Voodoo would go over well. It's a shame that when I rode it at GL, they weren't using the holding brake, so I've not had the chance to experience that. Funny thing is, it looks nothing like it did at GL. Nice paint job and the new trains look good.

I doubt we'll go this year, but, we'll have to make a trek over there next year. Thanks, Interpreter!

TR- Kings' Dominion 5-17 and 5-18
Great TR. Their Crypt looks freakin' awesome! I like Dominator's new paint scheme. You took some great pics.

Flight of Fear Video
I watched a little of myself on Raptor last year. It sounds like a cool idea, but it really wasn't all that great.

What you can ride
Thank you very much! I should confess, though. I have been to KI once, a while back, and did not ride one single coaster. It was back when I was about 22-24 yrs. old. I had back surgery and was told that I could not ride coasters for at least five years, if ever. I went anyway with my girlfriend at the time. I wound up having a blast anyway! At one point in the day, I couldn't help but look up at the skyline at the coasters and it kinda made me sad for a brief moment. However, just being there to share a special day and ride what we could made all the difference.

Oil Today Closed at $101.01
I would think mid-day Thursday would be when we can see the spike for Memorial Day. I was a little confused becasue the BP down the street from my work is selling gas for 3.69 a gallon and everywhere else is still in the 3.80's Here in West Virginia, they didn't wait until Thursday. Gas prices went up yesterday to $4.00. Edit***I just heard that it has already jumped to $4.19 in other areas in WV.

What you can ride
Thanks to all who responded. It will be of great help, providing we even go. She told me last night that now, she doesn't want to go because of not being able to ride the coasters. We'll see what happens. I'm not going to push it. Although I really hate to throw away $300.00. Bavarian Beetle, good advice. My boss took me aside and said, I'd like to explain to you, guy to guy, about what to expect in the next nine months. He said the first three months, she'll be sick all the time. The second three, she will be glowing and probably not sick any more. Finally, the last three, you won't be able to do or say anything right.

What you can ride
Thank you everyone, for the replies. Brwntggr, I will call guest relations and see what, if anything, can be done. We had to call once already and they did us one favor (which I won't mention as I don't want to get anyone in trouble). I like the idea of feeding fish and some people watching too. I know one thing, there is a waffle cone in my future.

What you can ride
6 weeks. Will probably be a few months - 6 months when we get to go.

What you can ride
As many of you know, I recently announced that I am going to be a daddy. I surely do appreciate all of the well wishes. I have CF season passes and I would like to go at least one time to KI. I am wanting to start a list of rides that we can ride, considering the situation. If anyone has this kind of information, please share with me as I would kinda like to get an idea of what we can ride before we make a plan to go. First, let me start by saying that we will definitely be catching some shows, so, no need to add those. And we also know that coasters are out. Let's start this with one that I know for sure we can do: (As a side note, if you don't mind, just copy the list as we go along so that I may have a final one that will be complete). Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, KIBeast 1)KI&MV RR

CP's Wildcat Crashes?
I highly doubt laziness had anything to do with it. CP's reputation for safety lies within its' employees.

CP's Wildcat Crashes?
How did the anti-roll back device fail?
-
the bat
The Bat was awesome! What you have read here are the reasons it closed. However, I remember hearing lots of other crazy stories about why it closed years later. One that comes to mind was how some girl had been thrown from the ride.

CP's Wildcat Crashes?
It seems some folks over at Pointbuzz are not convinced that it had crashed since it did not make the news. Not saying that it did or did not happen.

Paramount To Open New Tomb Raider Ride
And here I thought the idea was to low ball when it comes to bidding.

KD: Dominator Delivers Thrills
I'm sure that Dominator will probably have very long lines this summer. It is an awesome coaster and I am sorry that this coaster moved so far away. By far, it was my favorite at GL.

Geauga Lake Name Beginning Phase-Out?
This move would not surprise me at all. I think that it would make more sense to shorten the name.

At least it's not $4 a gallon ... yet :)
Oh yeah...I thought it was absolutely hilarious. As if our laws apply over there.

Are you kidding me? An adult version of the handcars? That was always my favorite ride at Camden. Which side of Pennsylvania is Idlewild on? Gordon, I just now noticed that you said three coasters. I agree that the Haunted House should count as a coaster. It has the chain lift and operates on gravity. Kinda reminds me of a wild mouse in a box.

18 Hurt In Carnival Ride Collapse at County Fair
"Everything was as it should be or we wouldn't have allowed it to open," Malerbi said. "This is in the hands of the experts to figure out what malfunctioned." That's funny. I saw on the news where it was reported that the ride was making an unusual noise for at least an hour before this incident. Yet, no one bothered to see what was making said unusual noise? From what I have read, carnival rides are more dangerous (not saying it's true). A lot of them (not based in Ohio or California) manage to dip inspections.

La Ronde Closed To Potty Mouths
Seems like something that would be hard to police.

At least it's not $4 a gallon ... yet :)
Seems the House of Representatives is trying to pass legislation to sue OPEC over price and limiting supply. Article here.

The Gold pass perks are finally up!
I was there during the Freeway years. Some people got really upset when I "cut" (legally) in line in front of them. I thought it was going to get ugly. I did this on Raptor and Millennium Force.

Cutting
Just two years ago, during Fearfest, my wife and I were in line to ride The Beast at the end of the night. We were both worn out and were waiting for the front seat, which is typically long. Just as we were about to board, a man in a wheelchair was waiting at the exit side to get a ride in the front seat. The attendant came up to us and asked if the gentleman could get on instead of us. Sure, I was tired and kind of aggravated, but I just don't have the heart to say no. He was extremely grateful and in fact thanked us once he was seated.
