  1. ^Wow! How insightful! Sorry folks, I liked King Kobra, but I love Mantis. King Kobra was neat in that it was the first stand-up coaster for me, but, after riding Mantis, I never rode it again. Well, I did ride it once becuase I was with my girlfriend and she had never been on it. I would like to see another stand-up at KI. However, those coasters seem to be a thing of the past. There hasn't been one built in years. I believe that combatstupendous told me that the Georgia Scorcher at SFOG was the last to be built. Either him or Interpreter one. They are both very knowledgeable on the industry and KI.
  2. Yeah! I'm with Avatar. But, we are grumpy old Just kidding!
  3. Hey Avatar, I was thinking that our age group was in the minority here.
  4. I really don't care who I room with. I like the second bus company a little better. They seem to offer a little more for the dollar. So, what would be the minimum number that we need to make this trip happen?
  5. I'm liking the changes so far.
  6. I'm going to definitely get the Maxx pass for next year.
  7. I'm not at all surprised that it will be closed for rest of the season. I just hope the problem is solved over the off-season and it will be running next year. I don't care if I get flamed for this, but, Son of Beast is one of my favorite wooden coasters (ducks behind flame retardant wall).
  8. I was the one who mentioned it first, I believe. I was just joking and now somebody else said the same thing. Too funny.
  9. Avatar, I want to thank you and Reon for looking into this for us. This is shaping up to be something really cool. If your figures are relatively close, then that is a pretty good deal. Like I said in a post earlier, we need to have some kind of no cancellation policy (unless there is some extreme duress) so that we don't have a bunch of now shows. Don't know how you guys feel about that one. I just don't want to send money and then have to get a refund if people start cancelling left and right for any reason. I'd like to hear some other people's thoughts on this. I would be ok with four to a room. However, I refuse to bunk with Ryan.
  10. ^I agree Tggr! There probably is more to the story. Could be that she is hooked on some kind of drug and was stealing to feed the habit. I won't say that is what it was for sure, but you never know. If it was some kind of drug problem, then there was fear of being caught, but the need was far outweighing the risk involved.
  11. I've been wanting to visit this park. I just haven't read all that many trip reports for it. Yours was really good. Sounds like a trip to DP & WWK may be on the agenda for next year. Providing that the KIC trip doesn't break me! J/K!
  12. ^ I see what you mean, Captain. But, if people have to send money to reserve a spot with no cancellations, then people showing up should not be a problem.
  13. Reon, I'll PM you when I am interested in going. I was thinking about September 9th. Let me know what's happening with marching band and if you can go.
  14. ^You gotta be joking. I thought that the ride you posted a pic of was a Topple Tower, not a Jump III.
  15. No, I graduated college about six years ago. I am an old fart. But, I still love coasters. Go Herd! So, any more news on costs?
  16. I am interested and I am from Huntington, WV. Reon, are you attending Marshall?
  17. Great report! I have yet to go this year. I need to make time. I haven't rode either of the Dippers in so long. The haunted house is neat too. I can see where you could consider it a credit. It is gravity driven and has a chain lift.
  18. I agree with Boddah. I don't like reading the same kinds over and over. Each one that is made unique is a great read. I like pics if you can do that, but, it's not 100% necessary.
  19. You are sooooo wrong! But, funny none the less!
  20. The track is similar to the one going in at Port Aventura. However, it has been highly discussed over at Pointbuzz and that option has pretty much been eliminated. The track is entirely too low for clearance.
  21. Oh yes, they did.
  22. I don't think that you want to burn it down. It is treated wood. You know, chemicals and all.
  23. So, who is really responisble? Is it Cedar Fair, or does the blame revert back to Parmount? I don't see how they would have a leg to stand on seeing how they were suing RCCA over structural defects.
  24. In my opinion, it's going to be an aquatrax coaster. I truly believe that they are wanting to replace a water ride with another water ride. It was mentioned by Dick Kenzel a few years back when they bought maXair. The year maXair was installed, the original plan was to install a ride where White Water Landing was, but that plan was pushed back a couple of years.
  25. ^That's because that most of the coasters at Cedar Point ARE smoother than Kings Islands'.
