  1. I thought that I read that the hydraulic fluid burns the skin. Can't remember where I read that though.
  2. ^Yeah, I wonder when Cedar Fair will announce capital expenditures for the formerly Paramount Parks?
  3. I think that I saw some kind of promotion with Wendy's here in West Virginia. I'm not sure if they are doing the same in your town, but it wouldn't hurt to check it out.
  4. You are all a bunch of fat butts! Just kidding. I am 5'11", 180 lbs and no problem riding any of the rides. It is really a matter of where you carry your weight.
  5. How do you know all of this? We need proof! Besides, the enthusiast community only makes up like one billionth of total visitors every year. Whey would Kings Island install anything for a few enthusiasts? They don't. They install to attract a larger audience.
  6. If they go for $200.00, I'll probably buy one. That would give me an excuse to visit all three parks next year.
  7. ^He's absolutely right. It's fun to ask opinions, but don't ride according to what we have said. It really all depends on your own likes and dislikes.
  8. ^I disagree. Wicked Twister is not to be missed. It has a great launch and the only double twisting spikes on an impulse. Mantis is also a great, unique experience. If you like stand-up coasters, you'll probably like Mantis. Wildcat is a great little fast coaster. Blue Streak is ok, but not worth any kind of a wait. Disaster Transport is garbage, unless garbage is your thing. It does cool you off though. Draggin' Iron (Iron Dragon) is about the most non-fun suspended coaster ever. Magnum XL200 is awesome with great airtime and bunny hops to finish it off. Millennium Force is great with the huge 300ft. drop and huge over-banked turns. Raptor is a definite ride and re-ride. One of the best inverts around. Mean Streak is kinda slow, but I think it is fun none the less. Cedar Creek Mine Ride is pretty good, but I think the transitions are a lot more jerky than Adventure Express. AE is just more fun. Top Thrill Dragster is pretty fun, but I wouldn't wait over an hour and a half for it. Geminii is a killer racing coaster. The cars are close enough to slap hands with the people in the next car. Good airtime and a great helix finale. Corksrew is good for a nostalgic ride. Not too exiting, but fun to watch it go over you on the midway. If it is open, catch a ride on Chaos, a pretty good flat. They also have maXair, which is exactly like Delirium. And, not sure what to tell you about it other than it looks pretty fun is the new ride for 2006: Skyhawk, an S&S screamin' swing.
  9. Well, I always get a park map and sometimes an on-ride photo, depending on if I have one of that coaster already. This year, I actually bought a stuffed Scooby Doo. I like having him around the house.
  10. ^I agree. It will more than likely not re-open this season and I'm not sure about next year. Actually, hasn't it been stated that it won't re-open for this year?
  11. That is old news. Volcano has since re-opened.
  12. I agree boddah. PKI to GL to CP would be good. Or, do we want to finish at PKI?
  13. Reclaimer, that is hilarious! I read that and thought the same thing. Gotta be careful how you word things around here being a family site and all.
  14. You will also be required to wear your official PKIC thong. Seriously, though. I am all for planning some kind of PKIC gathering, albeit by next year it will be a KIC gathering. How many days are you planning on, Reon?
  15. ^Good point, Wooferbear. No one thought that Florida would become a vacation destination.
  16. New update on the park for WV. Don't know how "official" this is, but... New Park for WV
  17. Don't fear change. Just because a policy seems dumb and silly to you doesn't mean that they are wrong for implementing it.
  18. Not trying to sound mean, but, there are only two helixes on Son of Beast. It's only one more than The Beast. I really don't think that they are that bad, except at the bottom.
  19. I'd like to see this happen, but I am skeptical too. This would be great since I live in the great state of West Virginia. Also, once upon a time, Disney had considered a park in WV. So, we're all not a bunch of shoeless hillbillies.

    Trip Report

Nice report, KDogg. Sounds like you guys had a blast. My nephew is getting to the point where he will be able to take on some of the larger coasters and rides. However, I don't know if he is willing. When we are at home, he's always talking about when are we going to KI again. Then, you get him there and he won't even ride Little Bill's Giggle Coaster. Go fig! Anyway, I don't want to rush him, but I can't wait for the day when he's ready to conquer.
  21. Ok. Please use the smilie when being sarcastic. I try to do that so people are not confused.
  22. Combat, I know exactly what you are talking about. I had the same thing happen to me on Saturday. I thought that we were going up the hill for the turnaround and much to my surprise, it was not and it lifted me out of my seat. Awesome airtime, just a little unexpected.
  23. Quickwind is referring to The Vortex. If I'm not mistaken, Son of Beast is the only looping wood coaster in the world.
  24. ^So, she just watched him drown and waited for the lifeguards? Where has common sense gone?
  25. I'm gonna go ahead and guess some kind of flat ride. I don't have any clue as to what it would be nor have I heard any rumors floating around. This is purely a blind guess as to what KI will receive for 2007.
