  1. I believe if you buy now, you get the perk of free parking for 2009. I am not sure if you automatically get an upgrade if you purchase now, or if they save that promotion for early next year.
  2. I think that they have their hands full with more important matters. If you have a problem with a line jumper, just tell the next ride op that you see. In most cases, 2 seperate parties need to verify that they person(s) jumped the line before any action can be taken.
  3. When roll backs occur, it is not good for the computer system. Unless a ride op has figured out a loophole in the system, they can't cause a rollback on purpose unless they somehow close the brakes through the launch area while the train is traveling through it. But 99.9% of the time, it is random. On Flight of Fear there is a glitch and you can about the launch but other then that they do not have any access to close brakes when they please. Only to release them when a train is in the position. Example would be to bring a stopped train into the station. The control panels are very easy to operate and is foolprof in a sense. Yes you can abort the launch on FOF. But ride ops can also stop the train in the brakes by E-stopping the ride if they need to, which is what I was referring to in my origional post. I am very familiar with the control panels and know how these rides operate.
  4. Try experience... Where do you get your information from?
  5. I don't see them closing it considering they did some major work on it over the offseason.
  6. I can gurantee you there is no kind of "slam into the hydraulics making a loud crash" from any drop height. Let alone 10-15 feet. Can you?!??!?! That is why I saw it with my own two eyes along with other people in the group that were standing there. AZ Kinda Guy has a lot of experience with the ride and he probably knows it better than anyone else on this forum.
  7. ^I was speaking about the KI rides (FOF & BLSC) which do not use cables, they use magnets. As far as replacing the cable or adjusting the motor on CP rides, I am pretty sure maintenance does that and not the ride ops.

  9. Delirium also opened in 2003.
  10. I find the title of the article more mis-leading than anything else.
  11. ^It is a little breezy out, that might be the reason.
  12. It was ridiculous it was wall to wall people on the paths and the park ended up staying open until midnight hoping that most of the crowd would leave after the fireworks at 10:00.
  13. Negative Ghostrider.... Many (especially employees) will remember the bring a friend free day the Sunday before July 4th in 2003 in which there were 60,000+ in the park. That is about the number that the park sells out at.
  14. Only the seasonal employees were let go, the full timer managers are still there.

  16. The last day of operation is usually a crowded day, I would count on it again this year as well.
  17. Good question...maybe because people actually expect to get wet on those rides.
  18. Actually the fog was not rusting the track, it was confusing the smoke detectors and fire alarm system. Yes at one point it did drip water until a couple of guests complained about getting water in their eye.
  19. Believe it or not the guys builing it know what they are doing. It will be ok and will all come together in the end.
  20. ^She missed a whole tunnel full of them then.
  21. The first tunnel is called the snake tunnel and if memory serves me correctly, I believe that the on ride photo was taken just before the snake tunnel. So it would make sense for it to be there.
  22. ^ I like your suggestion of a chat room
  23. Fusiondude is correct see below: http://www.visitkingsisland.com/visit/visit_calendar.cfm
  24. ^I can see why you were confused, but I was referring to the 26th, not this evening.
  25. According to the calendar (see link) this is the first night of HH, but on the flip side it is high school football season. You might be ok until about 10:00pm or so. http://www.visitkingsisland.com/visit/visit_calendar.cfm
