  1. ^That would depend on the layout of the queue.
  2. As of 2006, the park still had the model for SOB. I would think they are going to keep it around for a while.
  3. I was told at the beginning of the season that the path will not be reopening.
  4. What is the worst ride you have ever ridden at any park you have been to? Was it because the ride was over-hyped or was it something that could have been changed in the design? What would you do to fix it and make it better?
  5. I am pretty sure I was one of the employees you spoke with... The reason for the "special ride ticket" that you speak of was because the ride was still in the testing stages and having the problems that new rides traditionally have. We did not want the line to be full only to have to clear it out again for problems. Plus, with it being a new ride, a major or minor problem could have occurred and we would not have been able to tell you if it was going to be a lengthy or short delay. The special tickets allowed us to control the size of the line and when breakdowns did occur (and they happened a lot)we didn't have to turn away a 1-2 hour line multiple times a day which would frustrate a lot more people.
  6. Hank, in your situation, you would probably be considered a professional playing in a very formal environment. Therefore it is imperitive that you not "goof up" because it will effect your future business. We are talking about a 15 year old or so kid possibly at their first job, not a professional. If this was a 4 star restaurant, I would expect the high standards, but not at an amusement park.
  7. FD would not be as fun unless it was on the terrain that it currently sits.
  8. ^I would think this event would be for former employees that would be rehired if they applied.
  9. Have you never made a mistake in any job, personal or professional? Mistakes happen to the best of us, NO ONE IS PERFECT. Just because the restauarant was not busy does not mean that the staff wasn't busy doing other tasks. Considering that you said in your origional post that it was around 4:45pm, I would guess that the staff was rushing to prep for the dinner rush that would be coming in over the next few hours.
  10. ^ I agree, sounds like a simple honest mistake that is being blown out of proportion. It would be one thing if they refused to fix the problem, but that is not what happened. Sounds like one of the workers was probably trying to get these sandwiches prepared and somewhere there was a miscommunication on whether the burger was on the sandwich. No harm, no foul. Hamoperator - What exactly would you have said to a manager that would have changed the situation in a positive light? Your family got their food the correct way. You didn't say anything about the burgers being cold or under-cooked, so I would guess that when the burgers were put on your sandwiches and re-served that they were to your liking. What do you want from the park, blood? Should they fire some 16 or 17 year kid because he forgot to put a hamburger patty on a couple of sandwiches? I do not see why you are so adiment about persuing this minor incident that happened and yet was resolved by the food service staff in the diner.
  11. If your going to VA Beach you might consider visiting Bush Gardens Williamsburg. You pass it on your way to VA Beach.
  12. Interesting that it says that Halloween events may not be included at all parks. Could we possibly see an up charge for HH in 2009 at KI?
  13. Make sure you ride Volcano during the day and at night.
  14. Both tragic events happened in the same day
  15. Our company bought out the park the day before opening day this year. It usually depends on how many people are employed by your company. To give you an idea a company the size of P & G and GE will buy out the park with no other companies buying out the same day. Other smaller companies will try to cut costs by sharing the park with another small company.
  16. Anyone else catch former Kings Island Public Relations Manager Jeff Siebert on the Best Waterparks show that aired last night at 6:00? He is now in charge of Public Relations for Schlitterbahn Waterpark.
  17. Hank, why the hate? I am sure that the crowds that Diamonback will bring in 2009 will make up for most of the cost. Plus, all of the materials have already been paid for.
  18. Or you could just look on the park's website, I am sure they will release information on there just after the announcement.
  19. Why not they seem to be doing some crazy stuff on holidays at the park. What's next the world's longest snow mobile jump in the parking lot on new year's eve?
  20. Already in another topic... http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=14278
  21. Pretty sad that's it has come to this.
  22. I would expect the crowd to get larger as the day goes on.
  23. I think that when most people go to DW, they buy the park hopper so they can visit each park. I am sure they sell much more park hoppers, or multi-day passes over single day passes since a majoirty of those attending the park are from out of town. As for those staying closer to home, I used to work with someone who lived in Orlando, and she said that most of the locals had season passes to DW.
  24. BLSC's launch is a little more gradual compared to FOF. As others have said, when you hear the ride ops say "clear" make sure your head is all the way back against the head rest and you are facing forward. The launch itself is quite a rush, but very entertaining.
  25. Good for them. Glad to see that Disney didn't let the predictions get to them at the beginning of the year.
