"Cirque Imagine" at Kings Island!
Magenta Lizard replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
I got drawn down the rabbit hole again, of looking up videos on YouTube, etc, of my favorite Cirque performers, because I miss getting to see them on a regular basis. Tonight it was prompted by trying to find out more about the Origins show, to see if any familiar faces seem to be coming back (I haven't found anything /at all/ other than the mention of the name on KI's site). As I've somewhat "followed" these talented people's careers, and see them performing in places all around the world, it seems like such a strange life to me. A couple months in Vegas, now Germany, maybe back to Canada, etc. As strange as that is to me, as far as their careers go, doing something like Cirque Imagine is probably much more unusual for them. Doing a show for several months in the same place, with the same small cast, and many of the same audience members, is something that doesn't seem to happen often for an acrobatic performer. Although a show at a seasonal park doesn't have the same cachet as Cirque du Soleil, for example, what it does offer is a chance for fans to get to know the performers, and vice versa. I know from things I've been told that hasn't always been a good thing (stalkers), but overall, I'd have to think that the many kids who became such devoted fans were welcomed at the very least. In a larger-scale performance, it is going to be rare to have any personal fans: people are unlikely to be able to see enough performances to even necessarily remember individuals, much less get to know their names, want autographs, etc. I hope, overall, it was as good of an experience for them as it was for me as a fan. I continue to wish them all well in their future endeavors. -

Spice Girls... -
I thought I'd start a topic since I'm sure we'll ultimately have a lot to say about the new show. So far, from KI's "100 Reasons" (https://www.visitkingsisland.com/what-s-new/100-reasons), we have a name, Origins, and that it will be an acrobatic show. I think we can assume that it will be the new show produced by Productions Haut-Vol, although I haven't been able to dig up anything official.

I know its been forever since I posted about it, but I did (much) later learn the identity of the man whose shoes the clowns stole and threw backstage. It was Hugues Aubry, the head/founder of Les Productions Haut-Vol. -
Which coaster do you want to come next.

Sinking? At least we should still have Vortex for 2016. -
"13. Ride The Beast - The world’s longest wooden roller coaster whenever you want" Well I want to now. Is now good?
-
They rotate some of them, especially the smaller animals. While there weren't 60 different species, if you include the turtles in the pond, all the goats, Guinea pigs, etc, I wouldn't be surprised that there were more than 60 individuals on any one day, without including the rotation.
-
Yeah, that would make sense. I didn't think of it because I don't consider that area still International Street.
-
That's a good catch! "The façade of the Family Care Center features the unique style of a Fischer Home with a covered porch while the inside offers all the comforts of home including restrooms, electrical outlets, charging stations, Wi-Fi services, televisions, refrigeration and ice, and hot water. Available at no additional charge." Free outlets and charging stations? This is going to be very popular Curious where exactly it is/will be. It just said on International Street near the tower, but I can't think exactly where it would fit.

I'd encourage those of you who don't want to lose wraps to contact @KIChefNate through Twitter as well, to let him know. It would probably be easier to get them to change their minds back preseason than once everything is already going for the season.
-
Well, he ignored the question about RHOFG, but apparently wraps ARE off the plan. "@maglizrd we have taken a look at improving line speed and we have identified the wraps as an opportunity, we are looking at replacements." https://twitter.com/kichefnate/status/707753597048635392 Actually that sounds like wraps may be gone entirely, dunno. Line speed was never the problem, though. The backup invariably was at the cashier.

I really wish they would get an accurate list somewhere. It wasn't until just before Haunt last year that I learned a sub and side salad were an option at LaRosa's at the park. I don't know if they will be again, and at the beginning of the season when everyone is still training, I don't even have anything I can point to to suggest what might be included, if the workers don't yet know.
-
I certainly hope you're right (I did see that after I posted). I tweeted Chef Nathan to ask about it, we'll see if he responds.

Looks like no more wraps at Chicken Shack on the dining plan, and no more Reds Hall of Fame Grille Those were two of my favorite options. Hope Hank's will be open more often. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/things-to-do/dining-plans

Kentucky Kingdom

This talks about the paintless strip: http://www.thecoasterguy.com/2016/02/07/the-joker-construction-tour-at-six-flags-discovery-kingdom/ -
"Very excited about the out of the box committee we have to make HAUNT bigger and better. This park is filled with creative folks!"https://twitter.com/kigmgreg/status/685138852726620160 It was only a couple months ago, tho, not way way back.

Well it looks like I was correct about that being a new path behind the new basketball game. To the new soccer game :-/ I'm not terribly enthusiastic. It is cool we will apparently be able to walk under the track there tho to get some cool views of Diamondback. https://twitter.com/kingsislandpr/status/706233701487792129 It does reopen speculation wide for what is going into the old funnel cake location, though. I had assumed that was at least going to have the soccer game, if not something else.

It would probably help if you mention what about the post you're interested in discussing if you want to discuss it I don't see anything unusual about it personally.

I really miss that queue for Disaster Transport, too. I enjoyed it almost as much as the ride. I rode it before it was enclosed, too. -
Same here, just woke up from a dream I was on The Beast with a coaster friend. Sad to have woken up.
-
Yeah, I think it's pretty awesome for the relief it will give at food checkouts. If we don't get cups again at Coasterstock I may even buy one this summer. Especially if they're freestyle machines. I can't say enough how much I love calorie-free strawberry pop
-
I do like that speculation but if that were it I wouldn't expect to see work on a new entrance or exit until next off-season.
-
So it looks like there is now a path going behind the new basketball game. Speculation? (Edit: just realized I didn't credit the source, it's a zoom in on the still image from the Diamondback webcam this morning)

There are several vehicles there. Maybe they put up a tower or tree and then removed it again. Heh.

Yes, and to upkeep. At the very least, replace the light bulb in the boiling oil, geez. I see the burnt out bulb laying next to the final turn before the break run every time I ride and wonder why they taunt me that way.
