  1. I caught just the end of the litter-getter's dance act, too. I was impressed. I'd seen him around the park before, just dancing and twirling to his own internal music, and always found him quite entertaining. I hadn't thought to stop by guest services to mention him, but it is something I hope to rectify once the park opens back up at Haunt.
  2. Panda Express' usual policy is that they stop serving an hour before close. They may have closed even earlier due to lack of business caused by dollar days. It sucks you were caught out by it. I don't like that most food locations open an hour after park opening and close an hour before park close. I would probably have spent a lot more at Sweet Spot if they weren't always closed until noon, because I'm usually already hungry by 10 and could use a little snack to tide me over until meal locations open up. Some policies make me feel like the park doesn't even want my money...
  3. The stupid Accesso fee is $6 when you renew online (regardless of the number of passes or whether you do payment plan, from what I can tell). It was worth it to me to be able to do payments, but only barely.
  4. Also, if you have the printed voucher from ordering online, be sure you have your season pass on you when you go to redeem it. They do need to scan the pass in addition to the code on the voucher to give you your Fast Lane.
  5. It really was a nice day to use the free Fast Lane from renewing. I was pretty fortunate: I got my blue ice cream a little after 10AM with minimal lines (for an example of how short staffed the park was, a handful of security personnel, including one actual police officer, were helping out behind the counter). Got food at Panda Express a little after 11, with some wait but not too bad. Stopped sometime after noon at Sweet Spot to try their $1 treats, with almost no line. In the afternoon when I ate at Hank's, the line wasn't outrageous and moved fairly fast (was annoyed by a drinks line that went from nothing to eight deep just in the time I was having my burrito made, so I ended up not getting one at that point). If I hadn't had Fast Lane, I think with the heat and crowds, it probably would have been a miserable day. But the convenience of hopping on a ride to cool off when I felt like it made it quite a nice day overall. It was a bit shocking to find a 20 minute Fast Lane line when we went for our Beast night ride, but we still managed to get on just under the fireworks cut-off. I'll admit, as much as I enjoyed myself yesterday, I'm not going back today (sans Fast Lane) like I had originally planned, though. With nearly identical weather reports, and still being part of the holiday weekend, I expect today will be a similar madhouse. Oh, and Thrill Biscuit, I heard a description of getting shot by every cannon on WWC that makes me suspect you were at the tubes when they went through They were still wet like four hours later.
  6. I heard last night that the storm caused something to fall on the track (a tree or branch). I assumed it would be down at least part of today while they do testing to make sure there is no damage.
  7. Only open five hours, searing heat, and threat of storms are keeping the crowds very low so far tonight. There's only around 100 people waiting for the gates to open so far.
  8. Image removed. The women will just have to look for themselves, and the guys will have to imagine it
  9. I know it can be kind of skeevy, but that pic is from the doorway, and I made sure no one was even in the restroom when I took it.
  10. [image of RMC imprinted "feminine needs" dispenser redacted] Uh oh, RMC is already in the park... Is it a sign? Only the women are likely to understand what they're looking at there... Just to make it clear, it's only a joke about something I noticed in the restrooms last time I was at Kings Island.
  11. There used to be entrances on either side of the gates, and you didn't have to be a park guest to eat there. I think the door outside the gates is still there, but it was the inside one we entered through when they had the comedy show last month.
  12. I'm just bumping this to remind people it is coming up. I really wish I could make it this year.
  13. It's not uncommon for me to act as a tour director for others along the path back to The Bat, especially when the last gates between entrance and exit are open for rerides. "Yes, if you want to ride, just keep going straight. It's quite a hike, isn't it?! That's open so people can reride without walking the whole way again."
  14. I just hope they appreciate what they're getting there in the Carolinas: http://trevorbodogh.com/2015/08/30/cirque-imagine-promo-carowinds/
  15. SR&R was last year, because it was still dismantled. But that's the only one I know for sure.
  16. It was a little hurtful to my ego to be one of /very/ few people who showed up for the daytime shoots that weren't part of a modeling agency (not to mention being twice the average age of the models). And being shuffled to the back sections of the trains as seat filler, not to be included in the shots. Even as my ego bruised, though, I could hardly complain: I got to be at the park all day, riding coasters, and I loved it! But, it was interesting to see the difference between that and the nighttime shoot, which was entirely populated by people like me who were excited about riding the coasters more than about having their pictures taken. After seven rides in a row on Banshee* in the morning, in my favorite seat no less, I was pumped for the rest of the day. I overheard a couple models in the restroom afterward complaining about how much it made them want to throw up, and it made me a little afraid to stick around for the afternoon shoot, after we all had eaten lunch. Fortunately that didn't become a problem, possibly because of the length of time it took to mount the cameras on Beast, and that it probably is easier on the stomach with no inversions and lower speed. It was so different at night, when almost no one left the trains between rides, cheered enthusiastically each ride, and groaned with dismay when it was time to stop. I certainly know who my people are We may not be as photogenic, but boy do we know how to have fun! Once again I thank Don for extending this opportunity to us! *which broke my previous record of six rides on Banshee in an hour, which I set during normal operations one day last year. Since she's my favorite purple-people-eater my only real limitation was the length of the ride and the walk around, so I probably could have fit in a couple more rides in that hour. But, that day I started greying out pretty badly on the last turn the last couple times around, and I became worried for the ride crew if they found an unconscious woman in the restraints, so I stopped. Fortunately I wasn't greying out at all during the shoot.
  17. The Bat is one of the best water rides! Not so fast that the rain hurts, and the random soakings from water that collects in the canvas "pocket" above the seats
  18. Thanks so much for inviting us Don! I'd been missing the park all week, and it was nice to be able to spend the whole day in the park rather than just five hours While there was a Vortex shoot originally planned, they cut it due to time. Which I was grateful for, because I can only ride that in one of two rows, and not multiple times.
  19. From poking around on the unfinished website, it doesn't look like there are any other maze changes. However, Hot Blooded may be coming back, especially since it looks like Skeleton Crew isn't
  20. Everyone's immediate reaction will be to pull out their phones to use as flashlights. It's what I do around home, anyway
  21. Last year it wasn't on the pass, it was a separate voucher you printed out.
  22. The other morning when Fox19 interviewed Don Helbig inside the building that will become Blackout, I noticed there were pieces of masking tape with the word "brick" written on them stuck to many of the walls (which are still graffitied in the style of Club Blood). At the time, I assumed these were indications for those walls to be painted to resemble brick. But, the more I think about it, the more superfluous it seems to faux paint something in a place that won't be seen. So, I suspect they are going to apply brick /texture/ to those walls, and, perhaps, there will be textural clues within the walls to let one know which way to go.
  23. Also, ticket prices at https://cf-ki.secure.accesso.com/packageList/keyword/HauntKI The link only works for me on my computer, on the phone I get a message "no packages found"
  24. Only a month from tomorrow! https://www.visitkingsisland.com/events/things-to-do/events-and-promotions/Halloween-Haunt-Opening-Night
