You can see the shed from the station queue but I don't think what you see would spoil anything.

Danni78 - you have great advice above. I think you are doing two great steps now - walking on the treadmill to increase you walking stamina and preparing your approach of the park ahead of time. You've got this! The important thing is that your daughter wants to share this experience with you. Most rides have a rest area at the exit and that is a great place to wait and sometimes even get a glimpse of your group as they fly by. When I was little, my mom and grandma didn't ride (bad back and motion sickness) but I still have happy memories of our time there, even though we never rode a ride together. To help your stamina, I would recommend walking around the park in an orderly fashion. Don't try to go from The Beast straight to Banshee - it is exhausting. Just start walking and hit rides and coasters as you come up to them. Finally, if you haven't already, maybe talk with her about your fears and your game plan for your visit so you can create new KI memories together. I've had challenges adding my pass to the app in previous years. I don't think she should take that as any indication that there is any issue. I would recommend that she print off the confirmation email and bring it with her in case there are any questions or challenges. Having the print off or email will help answer any questions if something comes up.

I agree with CoasterOhio. If you can fit in The Beast, you should be fine with GCI. I was on two this summer in Missouri. They aren't as restrictive/unforgiving as Intamin restraints and the car feels a bit more open than The Beast/Racer. It may just come down to how the lap restraint is postioned and your body proportion. I hope that helps!

It took a few tries to get him to duck down to look at the camera - I think he was purposely trying to hide behind the flag. Edited to add that malem was a great sport as we played with snapchat filters in one queue. (All of which I deleted and didn't save or share.) This was on Peanuts Pirates; a huge thanks to @chugh43 for getting us to ride this. It was quite the unexpected surprise (in a good way!).

Yeah...I thought I'd feel that way about Dorney and Hershey but I loved both. CP and MiA are such different parks that as long as you go in knowing the MiA is a much smaller park, you can manage your expectations and enjoy your visit.

I'm not sure I'm going to be much help as I visited Knott's on a Sunday in October 2013. I didn't have any issue riding all the coasters, some of them twice. The Pony Express is a short but unique ride and is worth a ride. Xcelerator answered my long time question of what would happen if they added more to CP's TTD. The theming in this park is great! I had a lot of fun looking around all the nooks and crannies in the Ghost Town. Some things that may get overlooked for coasters but I would recommend not skipping them. The train ride is fun and has a surprise experience. The Calico Mine Ride was great and it's since been refurbished. If you get claustrophobic, this might not be the ride for you as they will pack the mine car full of people. I regret not riding the Timber Mountain Log Ride - it is one of the few themed log rides. If possible, try to take time for their shows. I caught a few and they were top notch! As for food, lots of people swear by Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant. It's on the street outside the park and you will likely walk past it from the parking lot. The restaurant had a huge waiting list but they offer carry-out next door. I did carry-out. It was fine...but I had to wait to eat until I got to my hotel so I'm sure that had a negative impact. The stores both inside and outside the park have tons of jams and jellies for sale and they are yummy. If you like to hear about park history, strike up a conversation with some of older staff in the stores. I normally don't do this but I asked a question of one of the gentleman about the park, which launched into a huge history lesson of the park and his time there as well as a funny story or two. It was a great way to end my visit. I really enjoyed my visit to Knott's and absolutely could have spent another day there. I hope this helps! Enjoy your visit!

I've been to Michigan's Adventure once but it's been a few years. The most surprising thing for me was that Shivering Timbers runs almost the entire length of their parking lot. It's a nice sight as you pull in. Mad Mouse (wild mouse coaster by Arrow) is running, hop in line. It went down on my second day and I didn't get a chance to ride it more than once. It will likely be your longest wait but is worthy of waiting. Most rides run one or two trains. I went at the end of June and had minimum waits for everything. It seems that most people visit for the water park. Do take a trip on the train - it's tiny and very different from KI/CP trains. A couple things to note. Absolutely grab a map. The park can be a bit interesting to navigate. You'd think you could walk in a big loop but you can't. There is a big pond/small lake in the middle of the park - their Viking ship is right on the water. There are bumper boats and swan paddle boats. If it isn't busy, they'll let you stay out for a while with the Swans. There are tons of flats - with several that we don't have at KI. Their bumper cars were speedy and fun. There is very little shade. The carrousel has some great horses! Weather wise, think of it like CP in May. It could be chilly depending on when you go. I didn't eat there. (I was there for a few hours the first night and only until early afternoon before leaving to head to CP.) It seemed that lots of people packed lunches and ate at their cars. If you have time, you can swing by Muskegon State Park and see some sand dunes and Lake Michigan. Last thing that I remember reading about MiA when I looking to go, it is one of the smallest CF parks. Don't go expecting to be blown away by the biggest and best coasters. What they do have is nice and fun and it is great for a visit. I'm glad I went and could see myself going again in the next few years. I can see where it was likely a very charming family park before "deforesting" the park happened. I hope you have a great visit!

CoastersRZ- you may be able to buy your ticket before processing your pass. When we did it this weekend, you could enter one of two numbers- one from the physical pass or one from the confirmation from buying your pass.

Indyguy4KI and I bought our tickets this weekend - 4pm Beast tour. The 2pm slot was full. I will miss part of Friday morning as I'm flying back from Florida that morning. One of my niece's is graduating high school in Florida and I can't miss it. I'm glad I was able to figure out a way to celebrate her as well as attend Coasterstock. Edited to add- I brought my 13-year-old nephew the first year for his birthday present. As much as he was used to going to the park with me, it was a long and exhausting weekend for him. We arrived for the morning ERT time and ended up not staying for all of the evening ERT time. He fell asleep during the talk in the theater and sat down and conked out during the train talk too. We even went out to the car and took an hour nap the one day. He had a blast but it was a bit exhausting for him. For people with kids, I would recommend watching for signs of them dragging. Visiting the park open to close is a bit different than Coasterstock. There is enough time in the weekend to take breaks as needed or skip out on something in order to get some rest at home/hotel/car. Making sure you (and the kids) are well rested will make for a far more enjoyable weekend!

And if you are shorter, the second row may be a saving grace. At least for me (I'm 5'2"), I can push my feet under the seat in front of me to brace myself against the restraints to minimize the head/ear banging.

In the past, 7 day operations has started the Friday before the full week of Education Days. Based on their release Education Days schedule, 7 day ops would begin May 12th.

When you have to make an unexpected drive to Cinci for work and your co-workers ask if you are going to stop by KI on the way back. Nope...park's closed. The moose should have told you.

I believe 14-15 as a guest...and an additional 4-5 for my job.

The biggest challenge with all the rides is that it is truly dependent on how the weight is distributed around your body. I've seen people leave all rides at a certain size whereas another person about the size could ride. My personal experience won't help because I'm a bit shorter (5'2") and my weight distribution (challenge areas for rides) is mostly my chest, hips and thighs. Congrats on starting the process...it's not easy to do but it's worth it! Regardless of what you are able to ride, I hope you have a great visit! There is lots of fun to be had even if you don't ride much. Good luck!

You can enter the observatory for the first level in one visit that lasts 25-45 minutes (depending on your group or crowds). For the next level, there is no way to complete it in one visit. It took most groups multiple visits and hours spent in the exhibit and hours working on it at home. What I saw lots of folks do is come in and work on one part for as long as they could, take pictures and then work on it at home before their next visit. There are several parts that have to be done in the exhibit. However, decoding the first language can be done by taking pictures and working through it at home. Then you can come back and finish that area and move on to the next. If you want to work on that next level, bring a flashlight, digital camera, notebook and pencil/pen.

It really depends on the child. When I was a part-timer in there, I saw about 50/50 children that loved it and hated it. My oldest nephew would freak out every time I tried to take him through. The exhibit area is much darker than the rest of the building. Lights flicker and there are random ambient noises that can startle if not expected. The cavern area tends to be the hardest area for little kids - it's the loudest area with slamming doors. Before younger kids went in, I would tell them that they are going on a treasure hunt but it's a bit darker in there. The lights will never go off completely and you may walk by something that will make a noise...but it's only a noise, there is nothing there. You even get to wake up these large silly statues who sing songs for you! Honestly, you know your child best. If little shark can handle the dimness of Boo Blasters, Adventure should (in theory) be fine. I hope that helps!

I was there last Saturday and the forecast had scared everyone away. Only 3 brief pop-up showers and lines were near walk-on. Our longest wait was 30 minutes for FOF around 4pm. Can't say the same will happen tmw but if the forecast calls for showers, it typically does impact attendance. Good luck!

Sorry-just saw this. Was at the park with one of best friends so didn't pull my phone out often. We arrived just before 1p and the crowds and lines were light all day. There were 3 pop up showers that lasted for 5-10 mins max. No lightening so everything stayed running. The only rides we saw down were Surf Dog and FAAC around 8pm and WindSeeker in the afternoon (it was really windy at one point).

Wait times are very short today. I think the threat of storms have kept people at bay.

Congratulations on overcoming Diamondback! I know its height can be terrifying for some and exhilarating for others. Sometimes even both on a first ride! I'm glad it worked out and you had such a great experience on it.
