In addition to the other tips, I have one to help as you said she has a larger chest. Sorry to be so blunt about this, but hard to say this appropriately. For the rides with the over the shoulder harnesses, tell her to adjust her chest to go mostly between the open area in the middle. It will help immensely in getting the OTS to latch properly and make her feel more secure. Good luck!

That makes me happy to have an extra week to get to see it. My July has been crazy and I haven't had a chance to return to KI since the end of June. I want to see the show at least two more times!

The biggest consideration is where you carry your weight. If it is evenly distributed, you may be fine for most rides. Also, us women (even if same height/weight as me ) often will fit in seats differently because of our lovely chests and hips. If you have a larger thighs/hips/butt some of the rides are going to be a tight fit. The Beast, Racer and Diamondback may be a concern. If you have a larger upper body, Drop Tower will be a tight squeeze. If your chest circumference is larger than 42-44 inches, you may not be able to secure the harness. But! Pro tip from experience, (pardon the description) if you adjust your chest to go in the open area in the middle of the OTS, you'll have a better chance of fitting. Then you can have the ride op push as that can help some people fit. If I'm remembering correctly, Delirium and Diamondback have test seats. Also, others have posted that they've been able to go up the exit and ask a ride op if they can test a seat. Maybe that could be an option? The biggest thing to share to help the worry is that I've seen much larger guests than myself riding rides. It appears that it truly depends on how your weight is is distributed and the harnesses for the individual rides. I hope that helps!

After visiting Worlds of Fun and riding their train, it had me thinking more about KI's train. At WOF, there are walkways under the train tracks as it winds through the park. Not knowing the history of the park's development, I don't know if that was how it was when the park opened or if changes were made later. Does anyone here know? Seeing those pathways, it made me think that there are more options than just going over the existing train tracks. Bridges and pathways under the train tracks could open up different opportunities for 2017 and beyond.

Those were awesome bumper cars at IB! The only ones I've ridden even close to that speed were at Michigan's Adventure 3 years ago. I remember that set suprising me at how much faster it was compared to KI's set.

Voicetek - I've noticed that when a park is busy, I can get a bit overstimulated and easily irritated. The random yelling is the worst for me. I hope your next visit is better! Umm...I hope you never run into me at the park then. May not be a teenage girl but I laugh and giggle quite a bit on rides and in general. Several years ago I found it very hard to laugh so now that I'm back to being easily amused, I try not to be apologetic about it. I would much rather hear people filled with joy and laughing/giggling than hearing people screaming and yelling. But that's just me.

I wish I could too...silly work obligations and hiring timelines. I can't wait to hear what they both say about the park. You may have to take a picture of the two of them after the ride! I hope the overall visit is better than the mine was. I do need to give it another chance.

IBEW_Sparky - if it helps, I've used my pass at 4 different CF parks, (KI, Carowinds, WOF, and CP) this season and only had one issue. That was season passholders night when there were issues with many of the passes - the people I dealt with at KI were very nice, apologetic, and worked to fix the issue quickly. That was the only time I've had issues with my Platinum Pass. I hope you all have a blast next week!

Three of us were at the park yesterday. I was a bit concerned knowing that there was a double threat of it being a Saturday in July and a high of 81. I was mentally preparing myself for long waits for everything. But as it was a "bachelorette party" for my friend, I already knew it would be different experience from my normal visits and was okay with that. I just didn't want their only trip to CP to be of not riding much and only standing in lines. We left Columbus at 8:30..and after the drive and waiting on the causeway for about 20 minutes, we finally parked at 11:30. After some discussion, we planned to park at Soak City and start at the back of the park and work our way to the front. It ended up being a brilliant plan! The park was clearly busy with lots of people in the park. While we didn't hit TTD, Valravn, or the wooden coasters, we were able to hit all the other coasters and a few flats. Our longest waits were just over an hour for Maverick and MF. We even left to check into the hotel and grabbed dinner and left at 11:30p. The bride-to-be had a wonderful time and it ended up being a great trip to the park. Saturday's aren't always a wash at the parks!

(I think it may have been more because it was me saying it that shocked them...some don't get my morbid widow humor.) But it is the truth. All marriages end. You just don't know if it will be divorce or death.

It wasn't open yesterday morning/early afternoon. When we walked by sometime between 6-6:15, it was open.

No news reports that I recall since February. Their Facebook page says "Permanently Closed".

I think those slower days where you aren't trying to hit all the big coasters can be really nice; my last visit was like that and it was great. I agree with what others have said. -See the shows! Origins is a great example of a show that uses audience participation and improv to create a unique experience every show. -Walk through Dinosaurs Alive - if you feel so inclined, make videos of really bad jokes/puns and send them to you nieces and friends...my that I've done that or anything... -Eiffel Tower visits during the day, dusk, and for fireworks! - Flat rides - this is the hard one for me as they can make me a bit nauseous at times. But your mileage may vary. - WindSeeker and Drop Tower during the day and at dusk/night. - Boo Blasters - Petting Zoo - Walk around Planet Snoopy - there are some rides that adults can enjoy like Surf Dog and Woodatock Express. - Walk through the stores. Depending on your again, reminisce about the "I love the 80s" storefront. - Sweet Spot - all the candies! But in seriousness, if I want something simple and sweet, their case of chocolate next to the fudge is perfect. They have candy for $0.59-$0.69. It's fun to grab a few and then just sit in the shade and people watch as you enjoy the chocolate. - Take time to really look at the park. If you like taking pictures, these are great visits. - If you are exploring the park with a friend, just enjoy spending time with that person. - Sit at the Carousel and listen to the music. - Train ride! Your visit can be exactly what you want to make of it.

Worlds of Fun and Six Flags St. Louis have made me want to silence people's microphones. Today, on Screaming Eagle the kid running the ride said, "Raise your right hand if you like chicken nuggets as much as I do! Now raise your left hand if you like ketchup on your chicken nuggets." That's it. Seriously. Please take the mic away!

I would be a-okay with auto spiels or no spiels. Most of the time, the ride ops aren't wearing the microphone properly or are missing the wind screen which means distorted sound and they then talk louder. Some are trying to be funny...or amuse themselves/coworkers after a long day, much to the discomfort of the listening guests. The yelling if you are ready/enjoyed the ride gets old real fast if you have screaming pre-teens/teens behind you. (Electricsun who may have just hit the wall and is currently a bit hot and cranky while standing in line at WOF.)

Thanks! I wish I had time to add in Branson but there's just not enough time for this trip. There's a lot I'd want to see there and wouldn't feel right giving it just a day. I'm hitting Worlds of Fun this evening/tmw morning and then Six Flags a few days later. Wanted to avoid parks on the weekend but couldn't with the travel schedule. I figured doing the touristy stuff in St. Louis would be better than the weekend.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to the St. Louis Zoo and exploring around the Arch. For Indianapolis, unfortunately I only have time for lunch and the statehouse...maybe a walk around the circle. When I visited a few years ago, I managed to hit the Indianapolis Museum of Art, Indianapolis Children's Museum (which I LOVED), and the zoo. I'll have to keep the other places you mentioned in mind for my next visit. Thanks! Knowing about the construction is good to know. I'll have to give myself some extra time. I went to the zoo a few years ago one December and was able to see everything then. As you said, it's not a big zoo but wasn't a bad one. There are dolphins and I got to pet a shark - haven't been able to do either at the Columbus Zoo!

I'll have to check out Imo's. As much as I eat pizza for work, I still like it! Looked at the tour times and they don't match the small frame of time I'll end up being there. I'll have to look it for next time. Thank you!

I'm finalizing my trip to Missouri next week. I figure that there are at least a few people here that have spent some time at some of my destinations. As such, I would love any tips and tricks for places to visit or eat while visiting Springfield, IL, Kansas City, MO, Jefferson City, MO, and St. Louis, MO. I know that I'm visiting the IN, IL, and MO Statehouses, Worlds of Fun, Six Flags, The Arch, City Museum, St. Louis Zoo, and St. Louis Science Center. Any "must know!" things about these places? Is there anything else not listed above that is a must see ? Especially in Springfield, Kansas City and Jefferson City? Also...food. I can't do BBQ joints - are there good local places that I should check out? I want to avoid chain restaurants but tend to be cautious unless I have recommendations. Thank you for any advice! I appreciate it!

Yay! Congrats! How was that ride?!

I was there on Friday. I didn't ask about the delay for the entry into the park. I had arrived around 9:15ish to see three long lines of cars waiting a fair distance from the tolls. For those that have been there, the first set of cars were about halfway between the tolls and Cabella's. Cars weren't allowed into the tolls until sometime between 9:31-9:40ish. They didn't scan my pass but just waived me through. I didn't look to see if they were just waiving everyone through. Long lines for security and bag check as we all waited outside the park for them to let people in around 9:50a. I was there until 2ish and didn't see WindSeeker or Carolina Skytower running any of the times I thought to look. Carolina Cobra and Hurler weren't running either when I went through. I don't know if any of that was or wasn't related to the power outage. Edited to clarify that I don't know why those four rides weren't running while I was there on Friday.
