  1. Okay, okay, I wasn't thinking back far enough. It was definitely Leviathan, unless something else came before it. That's beside the point, but thanks for the reminder.
  2. I think that's kinda the idea. Corporate identity, same designers, and all. Yep, there are definitely a lot of similarities between the improvements throughout the chain. Leviathan (or one of its predecessors?) started the massive entrance signage trend, Banshee improved it by adding fog and lights, and Fury 325 is repeating that. Just one example of the evolution of things. And of course both Carowinds' and Cedar Point's new entrances are crop circles. Aliens!
  3. Were your passes purchased/renewed online or at the park? The website will only show online purchases.
  4. Now that would be an excellent wake-up call. 0-120 mph in 3.8 seconds? Yes, please. Intamin, you tease..
  5. It is indeed no longer an option to attend Coaster Campout without camping out.
  6. To answer my question, no. For reasons that escape me (other than not getting "credit" for the pass purchase), Kings Island is very specifically limiting their passholder preview night to 1) passes purchased/renewed by the last day of the 2014 season, and 2) only purchased at Kings Island. Not that I expected any different, of course.. Meanwhile, Cedar Point and Carowinds have no such stipulations, welcoming all current Cedar Fair Platinum Passholders. *sigh* Follow up... Apparently the answer is actually yes. I see a trip to Guest Services on the way in for anyone attempting this since your pass likely won't scan. Hmm...
  7. That's the date I was initially supplied with, whether or not it contrasts the date listed here is a different story.. And it's hard to miss sarcasm that isn't indicated, so, no. Nice try.
  8. Nope. To be eligible to attend preview night, you must have purchased or renewed a pass by the December 2, 2014, deadline.
  9. Your best bet is probably going to be to fill out the Contact Us form at the bottom of http://visitkingsisland.com. The chances of someone else having brought this issue up before are slim. But hey, I've been wrong before, so it wouldn't be the first time.
  10. The new colors definitely Scream! at you..

  12. However, if you attempt to check-in after the start of ERT, you may be told that you "missed the tour" and now are unable to meet up. Not that this happened to us last year at BeastBuzz, registering just after ERT started. And not that we were able to join up with the behind-the-scenes tour of The Beast without issue. Oh, wait..
  13. And that's the thing I really don't get. Even of the purchase agreement for the second batch was signed before the first batch opened, they should've at least made it contingent upon the successful opening of the first. To go ahead and add more of the untested prototypes that had serious issues puzzles me. Not to mention, did they really need SIX of them?
  14. Kinda a loaded question there. Personally, I understand that Cedar Fair needed to strictly enforce its agreements with vendors that presumably amount to non-disclosure. After Funtime leaked that Cedar Fair was planning to install its rides, that shows that the company was not willing to treat its client with due respect. At the same time, that does not mean that Kinzel should have run to the first manufacturer of a competing product in order to show them up or what not. Personally, I would have postponed the project until I could put in due effort to vet the competition. But hey, I didn't have an ego to prove with a "last hurrah".
  15. Could anyone on here definitively state if you have to have renewed your pass at Kings Island to be invited? Pretty sure I know the answer (and have a message out to KI to double check), but it doesn't hurt to ask. Edited to avoid asking if anyone knows, since someone knows... D'oh.
  16. Agreed. If you want an email, ask for it. Then there are the websites that request a username but "suggest" you use your email.. Just stick with the email. Make it simpler for everyone, please!
  17. Live E == Live Entertainment I've heard it used internally by Cedar Fair but never externally. Hmm..

  19. You could just say Opening Weekend, you know. It's like when they say Black Friday Weekend for an entire month.. Just call it what it is.
  20. Now I see it.. I blame being exceptionally tired last night. On the first link, under the dining plan icons and before "Dining Plan Details", it says the following (with link): So the same page gives you one list and takes you to a completely different list. Yay consistency!
  21. I was gonna say... What Flash? The main ticket stores have indeed been using HTML for at least a few months. It's so much nicer, a lot less "clunky". The private event/group sales pages are still Flash but I wonder how long it'll be before that gets fixed as well.
  22. As was mentioned after this post, the list where Juke Box is shown has not been updated since last year. Old list: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/things-to-do/dining-plans New list: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/things-to-do/dining-plan-locations I see that the two pages are in conflict but I don't know where else the latter page is linked from on KI's site. It's probably legit but either way it's misleading to have two different lists. Sigh, could Cedar Fair please learn to keep its websites updated and consistent?
  23. Nope.. Ain't It FUN is the theme song for Cedar Fair, not any individual park.
  24. Pricing is subject to change without prior notice so one cannot definitively state whether or not the pricing will remain the same by the time you purchase a dining plan. Indeed, prices have already gone up since passes first went on sale last fall. I don't know what the KI plan was (probably $75-$80, now $96) but Platinum was $99 and is now $120, for an increase of 21.21%. Edit: It looks like KI's plan was $81 before the price increase, for an increase of 18.52%.
  25. Call me stubborn but until I see it confirmed elsewhere by the park, Kings Island's Juke Box Diner is indeed participating in the dining plans. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/things-to-do/dining-plans (under "What Meals Are Available When Using A Dining Plan?")
