  1. I wonder how he really feels about that.. It sure makes great business sense, after all, to charge absolutely nothing for admission and hope to make up that much money via in-park per cap, right?
  2. Of course they do, as required by fire code. You've probably noticed by now buildings that have those signs up, it's just a little more complicated for the whole park. Now, whether they choose to go that high before turning people away or not, that I do not know.
  3. I do understand, and agree that it makes absolutely no sense. No business has ever done that in my presence before, and I prefer using the card (both for convenience and cash back; don't worry, it's paid in full every month). That might be the price with breadsticks but it's a bit high for just the slices and drink. *sigh* No dining plan for you?
  4. Meanwhile, they wasted more money in their time than it would cost to hit one button and print a receipt. That is, unless they did print one and tossed it in front of you.
  5. That's not how this works. If you want a receipt, you get a receipt. Never have I ever had anyone question giving me one for any amount; they usually offer it.
  6. Ditto. It was really annoying last year at Cedar Point when they would try to push the souvenir cup on me when all I wanted was a water. No, I asked for a complimentary K-cup (K short for Kinzel, having nothing to do with the Keurig K-CUP® brand). I do not want to buy a cup of soda.
  7. What, is Florida's Department of Agriculture too busy inspecting orange groves to inspect amusement rides?
  8. "The Roller Coaster Capital of the World" is a title claimed by the city of Sandusky, state of Ohio, United States of America, Solar System, Milky Way galaxy.
  9. I don't know the relationship between client and track, therefore I cannot say. However, if they knew of the running backwards and did nothing, then I would believe they ought to have ensured that the track could be safely run backwards.
  10. I thought you were The Interpreter, meaning that you are the only one who interprets. Hmm? What say you that?
  11. The perception refers to Disney having anything to do with the death, other than being the owner/operator of the facility. That is, unless, of course, they knew that their client was utilizing their facility in an unsafe manner and decided to do nothing about it.
  12. Exactly, Terpy, prospective statements. I would say that it's not guaranteed until ground is broken or parts show up, but even that doesn't mean much. Take, for example, a medical center that a large regional healthcare organization decided to build, oh about a decade ago. After much press and fanfare, they did break ground and began both site work and the concrete foundation. They put up signs saying that it was coming soon. Well, the recession hit and that project was shelved.. "Coming Soon" signs were no longer. Couple years later, they decide to continue ahead with the project. "Coming Soon" signs were put back up and attention was drawn. How soon? Well, I'm still waiting for the day they progress beyond concrete footings in the ground. Just one of many real-world examples where a company plans on doing something but those plans are not carried out. If Matt were to say that all parks would get the Amusement Dark treatment, and the above happened.. That wouldn't look so good, would it?
  13. It's nothing personal, and you're not the only one making it sound guaranteed. My point was simply to show that it is definitely something that they are working on but nothing is indeed guaranteed.
  14. Or, you know, always obey all traffic rules, passing by the system that was largely designed to keep you safe. Besides, speeding really doesn't save much time (I could do the math, but I'm hungry..), certainly not enough to make up for the added risk of bodily harm and property damage. But that's just my "opinion"..
  15. The two installations so far (well, one open in WMG, and one coming up in VttIR) are quite different in concept and design. Also: So, one might not like them, but it won't be the same ride at all parks. And it's more of a shooting video game than a ride at this point. Sigh.
  16. Maybe because the building has water lines? Any expansion would surely require them for sprinkler lines at minimum.
  17. Bon Appétit? What are we about to eat?
  18. Hmm.. Did Matt say that, 100% without a doubt, all 11 properties would receive these installations? Plans, think? He doesn't guarantee it. So.. They've either got 9 of these things in the 5-year plan, or Matt was simply saying that it is his intent to deploy more Amusement Dark installations. He doesn't guarantee that this will happen, and it sounds like they haven't even figured out what they might do for at least some of the parks. Might this end up happening? He seems to want it to. Just keep in mind it's hardly set in stone. This isn't a hint of anything.. Anyone who knows much about the chain knows that there are some parks with empty land and others with empty buildings of a size that could fit one of these things. Knott's is currently putting one into an empty building. Doesn't mean KI will..
  19. Actually, when the motors are still warming up, they will load Dragster from the front, slowly adding rows/cars until the whole train is in use. Never the middle. Loading from the front makes the train front-heavy, helping to lessen the chance of a rollback. After all, if more of the weight of the train is on the down side, then gravity will pull it that way should the train run out of momentum.
  20. One thing to notice is that, based on various articles I have read, they were operating these driving experiences with the vehicles traveling in the opposite direction intended by the track design. This resulted in an exposed end of a safety barrier that would not have been a hazard traveling the other direction. Something was going on there that was not right..
  21. Son of a Beast.. If only someone had told Paramount that many years ago.
  22. He said that there *is* no discount, meaning at the present time. He did not attempt to predict the future, so maybe there *will be* a discount before the end of the season.
