  1. Ah, but it's not a 10pm closing on a public operating night in the main season (before Scarowinds.. er, Halloweekends.. no, wait, Haunt).
  2. Oh, I was in Sport-6 most of the time. (Sport mode features SelectShift, allowing for manual gear selections, so long as the computer does not think you're going to break something. It's a 6-speed dual clutch automated manual transmission. Woot!)
  3. That would be some really expensive teasing. Have you any idea how much even the raw material costs? Steel isn't cheap. Per this site, it would seem that steel is going for $295/metric ton. Let's use round numbers and say your teaser track section weighs 40 metric tons, or 44.09 "short tons" (U.S. units), and that it's a rate of $300/metric ton. 40 metric ton * ($300 / metric ton) = $12,000 Plus paint, labor, etc.. While I'm sure you're suggesting it because it'd be really cool (for them), it's probably not gonna happen.
  4. How many steel fabricators does B&M use? I only know of Clermont, meaning that this ride could end up anywhere.
  5. From Kings Island in particular or including FUN TV?
  6. I cannot attest to any season other than 2014, when The Beast was smooth enough to be very enjoyable and even somewhat marathon-able.
  7. That doesn't even begin to scratch the surface. Maybe it displaced a couple atoms..
  8. Rumor because I did not have a source to provide. Now I have one, so, thanks! Also, wasn't MAXX Plus available for those looking to add on separately-gated water parks? Edit: Yep. http://pointbuzz.com/News/Story/1105
  9. Sorry, I forgot to add this: A couple is two, no more and no less, as everybody should know. I was thinking that it was no more than 2.5 hours, but I should know better since I did that drive in reverse on closing weekend. Oops. I should probably just stop posting because everything keeps coming out all wrong and nonsensical..
  10. Debut to eligible passholders attending preview night? Friday afternoon. Debut to everyone (who is not banned from the park)? Saturday morning.
  11. Rumor has it that is why Kings Island still has gold.. They attempted to do away with it in favor of Cedar Point's model. Locals did not buy it (literally, they didn't switch to Platinum), so the park brought it back.
  12. What, 3.5 hours is not a couple these days? You're right. I don't even want to ride Vortex once. Ouch!
  13. ^ They also admitted to being wrong over a week ago.. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10153307298199369&reply_comment_id=10153312599479369&total_comments=29&comment_tracking=%7B%22tn%22%3A%22R9%22%7D
  14. "1 day left" means that the event occurs the next day, generally. It does not mean that there is an entire 24 hour period remaining.
  15. Aww, your clothing is soo caring!
  16. Funny, I've been there quite often and the only ride consistently down due to wind is the ironically named WindSeeker. Gatekeeper does go down due to wind occasionally but nowhere near as often. Granted, this did happen halfway through Saturday of its opening weekend and the park was practically closed the next day.. grrr.. But that's a rarity even with lake effect winds.
  17. Ooh, I got this one! It's sinking into the beach! Wait, wrong park. That's Cedar Point and Magnum XL-200.. My bad.
  18. Hopefully the animals doing the blogging are humans. I can only imagine what a chicken might have to say about living in a petting zoo..
  19. I hear that nature offers some great visuals while dampening the sound caused by a freeway. Think it's something green and tall...
  20. Wait, what's wrong with that? If you got a Platinum Pass from Kings Island, then you have a Kings Island-issued Platinum Pass.
  21. Hmm, easier than driving 5-6 hours one way out of the desert to get to the nearest park, and having the choice of KBF, SFMM, USH, or DL/DCA.. Even Metro Detroit is about 2.5hr from Cedar Point and 4hr from Kings Island.. Personally, I would rather have the Ohio parks in the shorter distance. Then again, we ended up going down to KI so many times last year that their separate all-season dining plan would've been a bargain.. Something something shiny new B&M Terrain-Dwelling Invert?
  22. Are you sure? That seems more like a bottom note to me. Also, if not into the microphone, where would you rather one speak? Into the speaker? The screen?
  23. Don't forget valid park admission, whether part of the event ticket, some other ticket, or a season pass.
