BUSCH PARKS: BLACKSTONE, now what?
jsus replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Pricing does indeed vary throughout the year. My aim was simply to point out that it is currently not that way. What it was in the past and what it will be in the future do not necessarily agree with what it is in the present. -
Not even Kings Island?

BUSCH PARKS: BLACKSTONE, now what?

Kings Dominion Gold (new): $112.50 Carowinds Gold (new): $102 KD + C (new): $214.50 FUN Platinum: $198 Throw an All Season Dining Plan into the mix and Platinum makes even more sense, even if just for those two parks. -
Coasterstock Tickets On Sale Now!
jsus replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Hey, at least it's not elusive ride time! -
Do you have any confirmation on this? I ask because I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere that Cedars was officially coming down. Matt Ouimet has implied, however, that it would be at some point via previous statements. This really does open up a large chunk of contiguous land. It definitely hints at something major, as in either a new midway or new coaster.. or both! These are very exciting times to be a Cedar Fair enthusiast. A lot of the parks are getting some much-needed attention. Now, Michigan's Adventure, on the other hand.. When's the last time they got something that was truly new? Well, other than a set of Larson Flying Scooters, that is. Edit: Ouimet, as the last name of the CEO of Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, doing business on NYSE as FUN, deserves to be capitalized here and everywhere. My apologies.

Outlaw Run is a Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC) product. There are rumors and enthusiast desires of Cedar Point (or Cedar Fair in general) getting an RMC coaster for a while now. There are even people who have made NoLimits simulations of Mean Streak in the style of RMC. Tony Clark, Director of Communications for Cedar Point, has a history of teasing enthusiasts. What does all this mean? Well, it strongly implies that Tony was messing with y'all with that picture. It was all in good fun.

Our high school yearbooks were at least $60/ea. and not distributed until the following fall. Which meant graduating seniors had to come back to pick theirs up.

You pay how much for the pass and don't want to let them collect a little data to improve your experience?

Could KI (and other Cedar Fair properties) finally be getting WiFi?
jsus replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
I also noticed those at Festhaus, very neat, and they were definitely being put to some good use. However, I did not get a chance to try them out. Now, if you could use your season pass as the key, that would be really cool. -
KI officially told pass holders to use their cards for reentry last year. It was on the bottom of the LCD screen over the exit lanes. Cedar Point didn't expressly state this as a possibility, although it was confirmed working most of the time. I wish they would just make it official chain-wide as it's a lot more convenient. Keep in mind that the PDF terms is obviously a generic corporate-crafted document. There is mention of other parks on the regular and gold docs. It's entirely possible it was written by someone who was unaware that using passes for reentry is indeed allowed, at least at Kings Island.

The infrastructure for Banshee's on-ride video cameras is offended solely for said data transfer and nothing else. It is not for guests to use from mobile devices. However, yes, the new Starbucks will have Wi-Fi. -
As suspected, the final time-of-day restrictions have been removed from Cedar Point's dining plan info PDF. They simply updated it hastily to remove the specific meal times. https://www.cedarpoint.com/images/uploads/file/2015%20CP%20MEAL%20PLANS(8).pdf as linked on https://www.cedarpoint.com/things-to-do/dining-plans/

You don't rent the password. You rent the cabana and then they give you a password to access the Wi-Fi network. -
That's a huge profesional no-no, even if there's nothing legally preventing you from doing so. The kind of no-no that can keep you from future employment.

Gristmill Refreshments' pizza is pretty good when hot and fresh. Corral's pizza is horrible when moderately warm / on the way to cold. Also, we had to wait for pepperoni to be served to another guest before they would serve my brother his cheese. They gave me mine first from the previous pie. Both were far from hot by the time we ate. Sigh. Both were still better than La Rosa's @ Festhaus, though..
-
Unless you can find that stipulation listed elsewhere, I am inclined to believe that they hastily updated the PDF without catching that line down below. It still wouldn't hurt to send a message to the park to confirm. 8PM close would mean that dinner service ends at 6PM.. No, thanks.
-
Wow. I'm just glad they listened, however unhappy I may be that they tried to spring this on us out of nowhere.
-
The idea is that you get the two meals, lunch and dinner, and it was just supposed to be four hours apart. It doesn't matter what you want to call the meals, so long as the 4 hour wait time is back in place.
-
Come to think of it... I renewed my pass at Cedar Point's Season Pass Center on closing day 2014. The kind cashier definitely informed me that Platinum Dining will include almost all parks and I'm 99.999% sure that she mentioned the change to the 4hr wait time. That's all I was told at time of purchase, thus those are the terms I agreed to. It was stated previously that the menu was to be determined and refunds would be issued if one did not like the choices. Once again, nowhere was I informed of a disclaimer that they could up and change the entire redemption process.
-
There were no terms or fine print disclosed when I made my purchase. Nothing visible at cedarpoint.com (including web pages and PDF attachments). Nothing at the season pass center at Cedar Point. Nothing printed out with my receipt that says that the product I purchased was subject to fundamental changes at the whim of the seller. Nowhere along the line was any fine print provided. For them to somehow produce something and claim you were bound by it at this point would not only be unethical but (and IANAL) 99.999999% likely illegal.

Honoring the product offering that was sold to customers months in advance should be offered. I don't want a refund; I liked last year's dining plan as it was (other than being CP-only) and was okay with the 4-hour wait time. Is that too much to ask? Cedar Point apparently did allow those who purchased the dining plan when Midway Market was available to keep eating there. This is kinda the same thing. It was part of the plan when we bought it.

<rant> Um... False advertising much? I bought an all-season dining plan that entitles me to two meals per visit at any Cedar Fair outdoor water or ride park, with only a four hour interval between meals. The list of participating locations and meals is subject to change. That's what I bought. No disclaimer that the entire thing is subject to change at the whim of Cedar Fair. Nothing. Nothing was mentioned to me at time of purchase that they may decide to change things after the sale. I bought it with a 4hr wait time and I expect that. That's not too much to ask. As others have said, what if you had every intention to be there at the designated meal time but you missed it by five minutes? Maybe you were in line for a ride that should've given you enough time but there was a brief rain or mechanical delay. Maybe there were too many people in line that it took too long to order. Why would they want to put the stress on the guest to plan their day around meals, rather than stopping for a meal when convenient? I go to Cedar Point to have fun, not to be stuck to a schedule. Not to sound like an overall "entitled" person, as I'm really not, but I paid hard-earned money for the plan as sold and am thus entitled to at least that much. And people blew up when Cedar Point took Midway Market back off the dining plan.. Edit: Oh, and Knott's Berry Farm has been open for a month with the dining plan only having the 4hr wait time. Now they've changed it to the scheduled meal times. Can't wait to see how people feel about having the rules changed on them like that, after having already used it. </rant>
