  1. ^True, but with being a company that offers passes across the continent, they already have that problem. Passes at over Georgia might be $79 while KI might be $129. My point was about ticket add ons, specifically the daily dining.
  2. On a different tangent...I often wonder why Six Flags doesn't market adjust for California? If costs are significantly higher to operate there ( labor, fuel, taxes etc) shouldn't a daily meal plan reflect this? Why is it the same price there as it is, in say, Oklahoma, where operating costs will be much lower? ( I don't know the price in Oklahoma or if it's even offered, just using it as a for instance)
  3. ^^They have lift hill audio theming already. I wonder why they don't use it?
  4. I've wondered if was soap residue or Serratia marcescens. Either one is disgusting. They need to change up the cleaning products they use.
  5. It's one of the air conditioned and less smelly bathrooms. I'm still salty that they replaced the counters throughout the park that used to be rocks under polyurethane. That was original and something I remembered from when I was a kid. On another note, has anyone ever paid attention to the pink slime that grows in the white sinks?
  6. @brenthodge, good to see you. It's been a while.
  7. Too much skyline, or too much Panda Express?
  8. T2 was added before Premier. It was a Ed Hart install. When the park expansion to "the other side of the road" happened, he said his vision was for that section of the park to emulate a boardwalk park, like rollercoasters by the sea. In a radio interview, he said Kentucky Flyer was the completion of this vision. In the same interview mentioned above, Ed Hart said that the entire parking lot from the berm ( which is made of Chang concrete!) to the hotels had been allocated to the park by the fair board. With Kentucky Flyer, they took a tiny morsel of that for a part of the coaster (turnaround?) and the fair board pitched a hissy fit. The governor had to intervene:)
  9. ^ I wonder if this is an agreement with Accesso to deliver more traffic to them and increase their revenue on the fees they collect?
  10. @Losantiville Mining Co., I like your ideas. That side of the park really needs a climate controlled building. Juke Box Diner is disgusting, so a complete replacement would be ideal. How would you tie the "feel" of the existing Area Formerly Known as Coney Mall into this area? Would you do anything from AP to the renovation zone... cosmetic, major infrastructure, rides, etc? I'd enjoy seeing your ideas for a master plan the includes the removal of The Junkyard Coaster, renovation of the grass area, and while you're at it, renovation of The International Showplace and dress up the area surrounding the Eifel Tower, similar to KD. ( I guess this would necessarily need to put Tower Gardens in the mix, too!)
  11. Thank you for posting this! Interesting that Carowinds beat out KD by only about 2 million rides. After all the way that KD has been cheated out of investment while Carowinds has got heavy investment with this relatively minor result.
  12. I'd have to disagree with the thought about budget appearance. Adventure Port is very well done. Camp Snoopy is well done. The new part of Soak City spruced up the area. I don't think they skimped in the appearance, the aesthetic is good. It's just that the areas they did do are small.
  13. Looks like a great production! I look forward to seeing it. Looks like Tinker has gone thru puberty. I'm glad they were able to reuse the Grand Carnivale thrones!
  14. It's been "famous" since 2017
  15. Just gotta ask a question here ... Cedar Fair operations, in general, at Kings Island, were typically top notch, until budget cuts reduced labor. ( Let's be honest, staffing issues didn't hold water after 2022, it was an excuse). I would pit CF KI ops again Taft ops any day. But, to be transparent, my lense is marred by the fact that I'm an adult now, and understand logistics better than when I was a child/teen and didn't. So they might have been better back then.
  16. ^That's more than retracking!
  17. Me in junior high writing a note to a girl I'm crushing on!
  18. Over Texas and Over Georgia both have some sort of partnership arrangements with investors. SFEC has taken their option to buy out the investors at Over Georgia, I don't know the timeframe, but it's a couple of hundred millions to a few hundreds of millions of dollars. Id expect them to call in the same options at Over Texas. But with the way the finances are, who would loan them the money to do so?
  19. Why would I vote for an event that no one has been to yet?
  20. The sound of urinals flushing.
  21. They were mislead? I get that investors aren't necessarily park specialists, but anyone with any exposure to legacy Six Flags knows how they had deferred maintenance, underinvestment and slashed staffing to the bone leading up to the announcement of the merger. The more this shakes out, the more it smells. Meanwhile, the "architects" of the merger will collect their golden parachute. If the company survives, they can make their money after the stock rebounds after this great reset. If the company doesn't survive, as we know it, I hope these folks loose what equity they have built up in the stock. 22. And money, I'm sure!
  23. You didn't hear about The Beast being open for WinterFest? For the three trains that could run once, it would the The Thrill of a Lifetime!
  24. Jukebox Diner has now been relegated to the "only eat there if I don't mind terrible food" category for me. We are there yesterday, and the burgers were left in open air, displayed sideways. So the top was dried out and the bottom was greasified. My friend was not impressed with it. I got the chicken tenders. They were huge, but hard to choke down. They were Sysco type institutional food and were literally mushy towards the middle. I gnawed off the edge of one. Fries were cold. More than 80% of our meals went in the trash. I mean, I have the meal plan, so it is what it is, but I learned my lesson and won't try the food there again. The employees did not engage other than "what do you want?" and eye rolls and the gen z stare. This was even worse than Six Flags Over Georgia dining, both with food and experience. Compare that to the people at the stand by The French Bar...quick, making jokes and smiles. As well as Grain and Grill who smiled and served great food. And no gen z stare haha.
