What's up with Kings Dominion?
BeeastFarmer replied to SonofBaconator's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Couldn't find an KD Haunt topic, but I think this is fitting for this topic: https://www.wric.com/news/local-news/hanover-county/fights-break-out-at-kings-dominion-during-halloween-haunt/?utm_medium=referral&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=socialflow&fbclid=IwY2xjawFdk55leHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHS7HQ2u8g_ym3vPJ9QS_xv3XCkXXO1YG3We1eCFYrziZ_Ym4RqgpIhT0Bw_aem_3JP4an_6levA1iCiwmVhbg -

I'd be the person to follow the person who spent the money on the lantern and get the interactions for free. Follow me for more hacks. -

Do they have coffee and hot, chocolate-flavored water available yet? -

I don't think Vekoma builds the coasters. They design and provide the support. The park hires all the work out. So Six Flags probably would go with longer timelines to get projects open to spread the money out over a longer time period. -

I've heard but can't verify an interesting example of this from the Taft days. Adventure Express was slated to go to Kings Dominion and The bobsled coaster was supposed to go to Kings Island. It makes sense, because the area where the bobsled coaster is has always had a "jungle" theme, and the area where Adventure Express is would be more fitting to the bobsled/Oktoberfest. -

People who are complaining about the color...I think it fits into the theme of the shipping tower. The track looks more rust color than red to me, but that is subjective. Or it could be red if that was intended for the original two parks and they don't want to paint a brand new coaster. I honestly don't know the answer. -
There is a difference in building a new project "project x" and modifying an existing structure "Dippin' Dots Storage Shed." I mean I guess they could put a couple of boxes of Dippin' Dots lids in the former SOB station/Wolf Pack building and call it a Dippin' Dots Storage shed, but that's highly unlikely. For something as specialized as this food product, I would conjecture that they'd have a specific area/shed to meet the product storage requirements. Likely routine replacements. Or not. Maybe they will do what you speculate and they are using the infamous Dippin' Dots reference to throw folks off ...

Are we really speculating that Kings Island would falsify government documents to throw off some roller coaster enthusiasts? The two previous posts were likely said in jest, but some may actually think this way .

I wonder if @BoddaH1994and Nick Gaskins could form a mini class action lawsuit?

There are a couple floating around on social media for those who want to investigate. Plus they always have caskets scattered around the graveyard not related to ride funerals. My theory is that its just a diversion to engage people during an era of budget cuts. I'd love to be proven wrong in the future, though!
-
Why would they have other caskets spread throughout the graveyard too?
-
Or they could spend a tiny amount of the haunt budget to throw up some paint, throw up some props and get people talking about the thing. This would be a good way to divert attention from a haunt that has a (possibly) vastly reduced budget. Or not .

For those that have been to the park this fall, how do the tombstones look? Did they refresh them all, or are they haggard and beat up? Are they attractions only, or are people memorialized this year? Is the a tombstone for Cedar Fair?

Is that equivalent of The Liquor Barn that are in central Kentucky?

Sorry that the poster has turned this thread into such subject matter everyone. I have hidden them because I don't want to feed into their drivel. I appreciate the kind sentiment and understanding that, even though this is a virtual format, some know me well enough either in real life or here virtually to know that I abhor the fact that racism/sexism/homophobia/etc exists in this world. Critical thinking and situational analysis are rapidly disappearing in our society. Sometimes an ace is an ace (drunk woman in the parking lot who could have been over served in the park or who could have not been) and a diamond is a diamond (chaperone policy allows chaperones 10 minors and the common perception and often reality that the demographic of under 16 can be the line jumpers, cussers, etc and the chaperone was stressed out with them so she got drunk). These things have been discussed and nauseum on this site and humor can be lost on some who see a demon behind every bush. -
This is incredible! Thanks for the work of telling the story.

@brenthodge, I wasn't necessarily talking about you, I am talking about the season pass base at Kings Island. Six Flags is in this business to make money for the investors. So it's wise to try to extract dollars out of the customer base. But, if they continue to degrade the service and people continue to purchase, it gives them incentive to degrade further. If I recall correctly, you have brought this up about WinterFest, Grand Carnivale and earlier this year about a prop not working on the new roller coaster. They roll out these wonderful programs and activities to get to get the hook in, the passholders bite and the company reels them in on the line, and they sink money in, only to get fried on the experience. Not all the time, but it seems to be a pattern. -

The reason I said it was what I said: " Because that is the number of kids a chaperone can supervise, and the reason for the chaperone policy is to hold the chaperone responsible for the actions of such kids." If you would like to assume other things, please continue to make an ass out of yourself. Further response to you is superfluous and fruitless. Good day, sir or madam. -
