The Racer: What if it told a story?
I wish they would theme up Diamondback. I like the name, it fits, but it's an oddity. Ironically, the species of rattlesnake that lives in the area is the Timber rattlesnake. Eastern Diamondbacks live in the Southeast, and western Diamondbacks ( which I think our coaster is themed to) live in the desert southwest.

The Racer: What if it told a story?
They've had fifty something years to do it and they haven't. I don't think today's generation would connect with the 1920s or 1950s, whichever this was trying to portray. They would also have to maintain it it, which we all know, degrades over time. If anything, they should just lean into the nostalgia of the ride with some light touches. A huge opportunity exists in the brake shed to turn goose turds into golden eggs. (Remove some of the walls, add murals, music, etc ) If I had my choice, I would restore theming to The Beast before adding anything to other rides.

Looks like we are back to budget mode on The Royal Fountain. Or all the goose poop you can see is just a fraction of what's there and has clogged the lines and nozzles. Why don't they clean up the goose poop?

Six Flags Renews Peanuts Through 2030
Cedar Fair installed Peanuts, not Paramount as this entirely did not exist in 2010. Weren't Peanuts in the legacy CF parks already before the acquisition of Paramount Parks?

Six Flags Renews Peanuts Through 2030
At legacy Cedar parks, the IP typically was not used much beyond the childrens area. The majority of the children in these areas are small. Most love a cute dog and a cute bird. The folks that were 10 years old when Peanuts were brought in are now at the age where they had or are having kids...they like the nostalgia. I dont know what the rage is for today's kids, Peppa Pig? There are a couple of parks dedicated to this IP but it too, will be a "dead brand" down the road, as are most childrens IP. The last time I walked through the kids area, there was certainly not a lack of kids there. I think they like the IP.

Six Flags and Cedar Fair Merge
Selective narrative. Legacy six flags parks may have had a slight increase. Parks like Kings Island who are pass heavy and charge 115$ may have a slight affect on the average six flags legacy season pass. I wonder how much revenue was lost by including the APP? Or did many people buy the equivalent product from the legacy companies?

Six Flags Renews Peanuts Through 2030
I'm very happy to read this. While both IPs are timeless, Peanuts, to me, seems more "classy".... promotion of calm and patience. Looney Tunes is about violence. Granted, Lucy always pulls the football from Charlie and Sally makes unwanted advances to Linus, and Snoopy is aloof at times. But there is usually a good life lesson. I say this having grown up with the catalog of Looney Tunes and Hannah -Barbera. So this is totally via an adult lense. Who doesn't adore a loveable beagle?

Kings Island Halloween Haunt 2025 Discussion
^ There is no justification needed. They will charge what the market will bear. They need money. People will pay the money. Others won't. They also charge a huge margin on food and soft drinks, and even more on hard drinks. That has been around since the park opened. Sure, the plans add value, but for the average passholder, they make lots of money off of both plans. What's the justification for charging daily tickets the rate they do for parking?

Why do you think they need new restrooms? They are in good shape, one has cold AC and is rarely crowded, so a good place for pooping!

Six Flags and Cedar Fair Merge
I don't think CF ever made much progress on the PP debt, they just kept refinancing. Six Flags got way in over their heads with acquisitions and overspent on debacles like Worlds of Adventure. They were able to shed much of that debt with their bankruptcy. Six Flags business model is being emulated currently, and I personally think history will repeat. If they file for bankruptcy, creditors will get shafted. Some parks that are jettisoned may end up better off if there is a company that could take over ( HFC is probably out of the scene since they recently took on a huge acquisition). Whatever would be left of Six Flags may have an opportunity to be elevated without as much of a debt burden, if they emulate the CF model. If they follow the SF model, they will continue the downward spiral.

If they do reintroduce it at Kings Island, I hope they have more safeguards in place than they did in 1983.

Six Flags and Cedar Fair Merge
They have said they are going to exercise the option to buy the investors of OG when the options come due, which is sometimes in the next few years. I can't remember specifically, but to do that, it was hundreds of millions. Texas options come open a few years after that. Also hundreds of millions. If they can't manage to clean a park or have consistent entertainment, how would they have the money to invest in this? Borrow more? Given the tenuous situation they are in now, would lenders be willing to do so? I also remember when Saleem caused the spiral into chaos, there was discussion of a land sale of all of the LSF parks with a leaseback. This rarely works and is often a sign of desperation for a company...see Frisch's.

Preferred Parking
Do you think they really care? They have your money. I'm sure there is verbiage in the terms and conditions that allow for "availability" of spots. Poor Saleem. He wanted Six Flags to be the Target of the industry, not the Walmart. Now, we have sunk below Walmart, Dollar General. We are that Mennonite store that sells expired rejects from the Amazon return pallets after they've been crushed and excreted on.

Xtreme Skyflyer is being Removed
Sorry, I said Safari Village instead of Adventure Village. This ties back to the historical roots of the area, and could tie into Adventure Port as well, with Port being a portal into Village. The Bat would need no change. If they can swap Banshee into Superman or Batman as some are suggesting, a theme could easily put Banshee into the theme...AE is right next door, so tie into that. Chicken shack could be reskinned readily. New hardware would be needed of course, but a multi year project would be feasible. I think the parallel with KD would be a great feature, especially if KD or KI are sold off to a different operator. They could even incorporate the area after the KIT plaza to make it coherent. If an Oktoberfest is really needed, take the path from The German Building and theme it up. You have FestHaus already, and Viking Fury. Vikings are German, right? ;). Bring the Flying Dutchman from SFA, put in a maypole and have yodeling contests, another bar, and mini cows on occasion with those Bavarian bells. Bada boom bada bing.
