  1. So they don't have time to replace letters, but evidently, they have time to remove and repaint the entire prop?
  2. I mean, I love seeing kids having a great time! But this is what replicates the cycle...the comments were overwhelming with "my littles love haunt" and "the actors were so nice and friendly!". So, for me, I just accept that the haunt of the past has disappeared into the mist. Parents...if your kids can handle it, get them in! Scareactors...love on those kids and scare those who want to be scared! Just don't vote for this to be in the top ten poll for scary events. If there were a top ten for kid friendly haunts with monsters, that would be appropriate!
  3. What they advertise and what they do are different things. The event has definitely evolved from 2016 until now ..for many it's much better because it's more inclusive to families. For others, it is a shadow of it's former self. It's no longer edgy and pushing the boundaries.
  4. I think it's more overt than that. While I hold Mr. Kootnz in very high regard, he has stated that he wants Kings Island to be more family friendly. So I think, under his reign, he has changed Haunt as much as his influence will allow for this demographic. I don't like it, but I'm only up there one or two times for haunt. This isn't to say that the scareactors and tech, park services etc dont work hard, they do the best they can given their constrictions. I don't do much with Tricks N Treats, but it does look to be very well done, besides being crowded in Planet Snoopy. But there is no way that we deserve to be ranked #4. That is just targeted advertising from the past that carries over today, much like a tradition.
  5. Kings Island seems to either want to attract, or has attracted a more family focused Haunt. They have cut back on spookiness and Haunt attractions. This is what probably makes them the most money. Knott's seems to have a different target audience.
  6. Might be ADA accessibility issues.
  7. It's 11pm and all is well. I'm wondering why the soccer game under the snake coaster is still there if it's never open?
  8. Invertigo inherited Stinger's train and they alternate years of use.
  9. The only issue with this venue is slip and falls if pavement is wet, and those metal benches would be coooooollllld! (So is the train!)
  10. Because the people will come for haunt, seemingly no matter what they do...and vote in a poll for it! I swear they could do a "pull the trash" contest or a " clean up the fountain goose poop" contest for haunt attractions and people would show up by thousands. Edit: theyve already cleaned the goose poop this year, it will have to be modified into a bleach the goose poop stains out of the fountain contest.
  11. The scariest haunt experience I ever had was back in like 2010. We rode last ride on beast. The train before we got back to station, somebody took my friends backpack from the bin. He tore off to the front entrance. I walked back alone, in very dense fog, with nightmare on elm Street music playing while diamond back sent empty trains. No screams. This was before I got into parks.
  12. Since this is a fake @kingsislandpr account, I've deleted my post.
  13. Did the park fix Don Helbig's tombstone?
  14. She is but a shadow Of her former self. You can't recognize her She is someone else. --Eurythmics, In The Garden. ©1981 Lennox/Stewart
  15. And supposedly they have cut way back on scareactors this year. That, with the no boo necklaces, has ruined this event. Best Haunt indeed lol. At this point, they need to just do Tricks n Treats, an Oktoberfest for the adults and close at 7pm.
  16. Haunt Saturdays are typically the busiest days the park has. Of course, it's weather dependent. But if the crowds are high and the weather is good, a Fast Lane would be advisable but will likely have surge pricing.
  17. Here is my perspective: staff are pressed for time. But there should be a process to cull damaged items to either fix or do away with. With this issue, given the subject, they should have taken the 5-10 minutes to fix it The motive will be clear next weekend. If it's not fixed after this uproar, it will speak volumes to the theory of the park intentionally did this. If it's removed it still could be interpreted many ways. If it's fixed, that will allay many of these concerns about ki screwing Don Helbig.
  18. Some would say it's not a woodie, but a hybrid .
  19. It's 441 and I'm wondering why they put blacktop around the Eiffel Tower in the 2019 renovation instead of pavers
  20. Go thru Canada. Much cheaper, at least it has been for me.
  21. When I rode LR, the launch didn't really feel like a launch. It kind of felt like a slower Millennium Force.

  23. The junkyard coaster needs a complete redo or tear out. Get rid of the shipping containers, junk cars, billboards, rip-rap. I don't think the hardware needs anything, maybe harken back to the roots of Les Taxis or Ohio Overland Livery and put new fiberglass shells on the train and take a wild ride in a antique auto. But the area is ugly as is while it's a decent ride. Landscape landscape landscape!
  24. They are the ones that were overbooked at St. Michelle.
  25. Well, we have been bamboozled yet again by the silly poll and no boo necklaces!
