I'm sure the park has more pressing issues right now than turning on a webcam.

Coronavirus Impacting Theme Parks

I think, and I am far from an expert, that you would run into a severe constitutional crisis if you tried to enforce stay at home orders as severely as other countries have. I am no expert, but I would foresee tremendous push back against that Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk -

But the problem with that lies in the fact that you are concentrating people in limited areas. You know, if I didn't have classes to worry about, I'd love to work during the week at ki. (My full time gig is every Saturday And Sunday). I'd love to come work every Tuesday and Wednesday, for example. Those extra days they are discussing adding, sign me up. But I doubt theyd have flexibility about the weekends off. [emoji23] Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk -

I'm sorry, but basic medical microbiology teaches you that the reason virus spreads more easier in cold weather is because people are staying inside in close proximity to each other . Warm weather has nothing to do with "killing" the virus. In a sense, all the isolation *may* cause this to linger, which is the flattering of the curve. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk -

As it relates to Knott's loosing 500k per day, yes. Everything else, I take with a grain of salt. It's hard to separate the wheat from the chaff. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk -

What he is saying is his opinion. Even the people "in the know" (park and corporate leaders) don't know right now. It's a moment by moment process. None of us know. It's concerning to me that a mainstream media outlet would print that as a FACT (with a very small disclaimer) that Knott's is loosing 500k per day in profit each day they are closed. Their source? YouTubers! The YouTubers source? TEAS. Those numbers are guestimates at best. But they present it as fact. And they fail to notice that even if correct, that is not profit. If average spending per visit is xx.xx$, that does not equal profit. There are costs involved is that xx.xx$. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk -

The truth is that none of us know the truth. We only know what is spoon fed to us by politicians, media and social media. Only a few elite know the truth: did it come from bats in Wuhan? Did the Chinese engineer it in retaliation to the trade war? Did US soldiers "drop" the virus into Wuhan? None of us know. We may think we do, but we don't. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk -

Elective surgery has been postponed, so census is down in many places. I'd be careful about cutting MD money. But cutting admin is a good thing. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk -

That's Kaiser Permanente for ya. Although they may be technically correct, what would they do if every single nurse, tech, resident, dietician, therapist, chaplain, doctor, housekeeper, chaplain, etc all came in with a mask in protest? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk -

N95 masks, as I said, filter out up to 95% of particulates. An easy way to picture that is to think of a very dense window screen. Pour 100 gallons of water on it. 95 gallons would not be able to penetrate. Papper masks are actual ventilators that filter out particulates. They are mechanical and cover the entire head and upper body (in my experience). They can be used when fit testing is not possible or if there is a physical reason why an N-95 cannot be used (beard). Surgical masks/standard masks are porous and prevent sputum and saliva from exiting the mask and onto a patient/incision. It's amazing to me that the Joint Commission has been silent. We can't have food at workstations or tape on the wall, but we can wear bandanas or paper towels as PPE. woo-hoo ride em cowboy -

All of the home made "masks" that are being made--worthless. An N-95 mask will filter out 95% of particles as small as a virus, and to be effective, you have to be fit tested. Wearing these home made masks is akin to trying to stop water from going thru a window screen. And how many people do you wearing a mask who have it pulled below their nose? And the folks wearing gloves--You go to the store with your gloves on. Every time you touch a package to examine, any part of the cart that isn't wiped down, the keypad on the debit machine, the plastic thing you put down to separate your items (not to mention the germs on the conveyor belt)….and then you touch your phone, your debit card, your face, your keys and your steering wheel. The gloves are simply a feel good measure like the home made masks are. -

At work today, several doctors were giving their opinion. For the healthy, as the virus spreads, it will be unnoticed or mild. Like with the vaccines for other things, this builds herd immunity. It's the outliers that are the most at risk. So while the isolation slows down the spike, it increases the time that herd immunity takes to build. But it helps to save the vulnerable. Anyone else here feel a sense of mourning? I know it's just an entertainment venue, but I feel sad. Things were going so well for CF ( and my units). But these days will soon be behind us. As far as Coasterstock...if it is changed to a different weekend, I am out. My work schedule is set until August now. I'm hoping they will allow the tickets to be transferred to someone else. Hate to see them go to waste. I also hate to miss my first Coasterstock. [emoji26] Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk -

I'm not familiar with DT testing, but I have a friend who works in a clinic and did 4 tests today. She gowned, gloved and donned an N95 mask for each patient. Best practice dictates new PPE for each patient. She's not just protecting herself, but the patients she sees after that one as well as co workers and family. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk -
