Kings Island Camp Cedar to Open Spring 2021
Chad Showalter tweeted in response to a question, that it will be a year round operation. If the price is right, that might be a midwinter get away for me.

Kings Island Camp Cedar to Open Spring 2021
I guess that depends on what you mean by "forest." The times I was at one of the fast food places, I saw nothing but Japansese Honeysuckle (considered a noxious weed), some dead ash trees (from the emerald ash borer) and osage orange and water maples. The last two are not desirable tree species. Of course this was just visible from the parking lots, I have no idea how much old growth forest was back there. While I agree that being surrounded on the front side by fast food and a warehouse is unfortunate, there is an opportunity to take a neglected property and enhance it and turn it into an asset. I would think this is something you can appreciate with your emphasis on design and attention to detail in previous posts.

KI's Grand Carousel turns 94!
It would be helpful if you could quote the posts you are referring back to. I have no idea what you are talking about here without wading through a bunch of old posts.

Kings Dominion taking on Busch Gardens Williamsburg
Don't put it off your list. It is a wonderful park as is. Out of the CF parks I have been to, my opinion is that it is the most beautiful of them all. It has great rides and a ton of charm--it reminded me of the "old KI" when I went.

That food sounds good--hopefully open to the public.

Kings Dominion taking on Busch Gardens Williamsburg
To move KD forward, I agree that they need a B&M hyper. I'd also like them to get a Chance Hyper GTX and a GCI. They need some flats in Old Virginia. They need a large indoor dining space like Festhaus. Ideally, they would get a train back and the the waterpark moved behind Racer 75--this area could return to Lake Charles or a nice lushly landscape area with some gentle flats.

Coronavirus Impacting Theme Parks
A vaccine is not a magic injection. I get vaccinated for the flu every fall, but I take precautions when I am around KNOWN source of the flu, but I also take other precautions when I am around UNKNOWN sources of the flu.

Coronavirus Impacting Theme Parks
I'm not a HIPAA specialist, but I don't think it does. Schools and employers can require vaccines, it might not be a stretch to see private enterprise require it too.

Coronavirus Impacting Theme Parks
I'm not anti-mask, anti vax or anti social distancing. But.... I wouldn't get overly comfortable/confident in a vaccine. CV19 has shown in mutates. Like the flu, it might become a yearly thing with an effectiveness fluctuations. That 90% may go down to 40% if this thing mutates. Even with a vaccine, it might be wise to continue masking and social distancing for a while.

Could KI be getting a Floorless next?
I'd love to have a B&M flyer at KI. I have only ridden one, at SF Great Advencha, but the loop was like nothing I have ever experienced before or after. Unfortunately, Tatsu was down for winter maintenance when I went to SFMM a few years ago. I think the risk of downtime would be worth the the reward of the coaster. And B&M downtime seems much more "fixable" than Intamin downtime.

Is Kings Island the new #1 ahead of Cedar Point?
I agree. It makes the walk thru the turnstyles even better. I could get behind a slight renovation with new shingles and removal of the seasonal banners--and a return of the flags.

The Beast Experience
The Beast experience this year was not good for me. Assigned seating and only two non wheel rows. But a bad ride on The Beast is better than a good ride on Invertigo. I ended up riding Adventure Express more than The Beast this year. This comment is going in for posterity during a global pandemic--I'm grateful I got to experience KI 4 times this summer.

What's your favorite cloned ride?
The Racer and Racer 75, although R75 has a small difference in the layout. If there was a category for cloned rides: what version do you love and what version do you hate? It would be Thunder Run/Hurler. TR is awesome (airtime, smooth, fast) and Hurler sucks (rough, slow and airtime is terrible).

Lightning Rod Most Likely Becomes First RMC to Get RMC Makeover
It's not a big deal, but confirmed (around here) is not a word to take lightly The subject was discussed at an ACE event and a park official probably said it (I wasn't there, I'm conjecturing here) and ACE reported it. Even so, the park hasn't announced it. From reading the posts, it seems like the Iron Horse is going only on certain sections and the the topper track is being replaced elsewhere.

Lightning Rod Most Likely Becomes First RMC to Get RMC Makeover
It's not "confirmed" until the park announces it, as the link you posted clearly posted in a disclaimer. Probably? Yes. Confirmed? No.

Official Iron Gwazi POV
POVs really dont do a ride a true tale. They seemed to be highly secured to reduce vibration. Im looking forward to riding this someday, though!

Possible KI Winterfest?
If they do a taste of the season, I hope they have some weeknights between Christmas and New Years Eve (I work weekends.) If they are not doing a tasting event, It is really nice to go to the effort of giving locals the Christmas tree. Of course, there is a loyalty reason but still a great gift.

A Bittersweet 2020 Season at Kings Island
Very good post, @IndyGuy4KI! You managed to summarize the season, yet place emotion into your writing. Thank you!

While I don't hope for a dive either, that rendering looks great! You have advanced your skillset over the past couple of years!

1981 Bat Original Layout
Hmmm. that's interesting because a moderator said in this thread that sources are part of the TOS you seem very fond of (when you think it's in your favor).
-
1981 Bat Original Layout
First and recent example: "Adventure Express got retracked!" "Adventure Express had at least 6 sections of track replaced!" Ultimately, as confirmed by several others--track work was one or two spots and no more than 15' in each spot. Regarding the original The Bat--you could have just said from the beginning: "If you go thru the Fast Lane queue for Orion, pay attention. It looks like there is a blueprint for the original The Bat! Based off that, I did a recreation in NoLimits and included the inversions. What do you think?" Of course you are going to get called out or have things thrown back if you don't do what is asked from everyone else--cite your source. Be believable. Don't act like a child throwing a temper tantrum when someone asks you to back up your information. And as far as people leaving sites like this, in my anecdotal observation, when people leave in a huff they usually come back and feel like they should be treated well because they came back to give it another chance. It's usually better to leave quietly and then slide back in when your anger has dissolved than to storm off only to rise again.

Six flags removing 15 rides throughout the chain this year
Are you talking about Scream at Magical Mountain? It's a parking lot coaster, not far from Twisted Colossus. It's similiar to Dominator--If SIX decided to sell it off, I'd love to see it at KK or KI!

The Flat Ride Speculation Thread
There is one just down the road at Kentucky Kingdom.

Six flags removing 15 rides throughout the chain this year
I agree with the Viper sentiments. It was a fun coaster that I enjoyed. Also, it has an interesting track design on the loops.

Markers Placed by Old Columbia Rd.
Got a source on that? And even if you do, it is really not indoor dining. There is no climate control in the hot, humid summer when people crave AC. And the outdoor dining porches at CB do not allow for seating for that many people. An climate controlled eatery in CM would be a revenue generator. The temporary walls at CB do not increase revenue in my conecture.
