Actually its not there, at least not all of it. I've seen the train with its nice leather fitted covers by the actual rides maintenance building else where in the park.

As I look up at the banner and read "New Weight Loss Pill" HAHA, gotta love the adds.

The one day in June that they are closed is because a company buys out the park. Actually its two companies that go in together. It is usually the first sunday in June. This only started a few years ago.

I would swap Carowinds Top Gun with Scooby Ghoster coaster. I like our Top Gun so it would have to stay. SGC is the only coaster at KI I would part with right now.

Well a majority of the schools have usually left by 6pm, but not always. Plus, its done at 6, so they will start pumping the math and science people out and you will have your "precious" pass holder night. Geez people, you act like KI owes all of you a night for you to run around the park all by yourself with no one else in the park. To me that just seems a little selfish. I know its cool and all but come on.

I don't know what everyone is talking about. I rode it friday night and it was hauling a**. Yeah it hit the MCBR before the tunnels pretty hard but it ripped right through them and barreling down the track after that.

So check it, I drive back from my co-op job in Bloomington, IN just for another fun weekend of work at Kings Island. I pull into the parking lot to see the mass of busses and cars in the parking. I'm sorta oblivious and thinking its dead just because they weren't parked out to the camp ground. I get through the employee metal detector at like 8pm and suprised cause I didn't get yelled out for scanning my own ID. Head across the front gate towards Action Zone. Why is it that when you are alone you don't get attacked by the key hole photo people even though there is a huge line of them and no one coming in the gate at that time? I head straight for Delirium. I get to the line and see they are back into the covered area and it looks like the whole queue line is full so I say F*** this and will come back later. Heck I haven't riden all the rides yet this year, I might as well head to Rivertown instead. I figure I might as well hit TR:TR even though its not my most favorite ride. I figure I can stand to wait and ride it again (since it had been since last May that I rode it) Of course, it was closed. No big deal to me really. Move right on to The Beast where of course tons of those high schoolers are swarming at the same time. So I pick up the pace to get in front of them. (They were being loud and obnoxious and I figured I could be in front ofthem and not have to look at them) We get right past the dude working the baby height check spot where we are at the end of the line and start waiting. Soon after I hear one of them say, "Eww, he's going to smoke" So, I turn around and see him putting a "black and mild" in his mouth and just say "You can't smoke in line, its against park policy" and he just looks at me. I point to the dude squating at look out and say, "He will kick you out of the park". Of course I fail to mention I work there and could do it myself, but that usually gets them ****ed and I didn't wanna have to wait next them with that out there for however long the line was. Suprisingly, he puts it away and just waits and didn't *****. So, after getting past the "front/back" divide and half way up the line stops and they dispatch an empty train. People start freakin, I just laugh. Then they announce (even though I didn't hear it cause the speakers are either turned too far down or the guy just wasn't talking to loud) that the ride will be shut down for a while. Well that sets the black girls (no offense) into a tissy... "What the f***? The ride is closed!" They start turning around and leaving and yelling that down the whole line. Its amazing how easily they can clear out a line for you. What was a pretty full queue line (save for the extra lines in the houses not open) emptied in a few minutes leaving me in the station right in line for the front seat and barely anyone else there. After about a 15minute wait they get the ride back up and run the empty trains then let us on and the high schoolers rejoice. The lone coaster freak (me) does the same, only silently, laughing at the others. Of course its front/left seat for me. (Why? I'll get to that) They don't dispatch us for quite sometime cause some dude in the back was stuck and couldn't get out. Finaly they get him out and we are on our way. Just remind you this was my first ride on The Beast this season, and it had just turned dark. I was loving it, front seat, dark, first ride. We get to the top of the hill and creep over the edge then its down we go. The first turn out of the drop is remarkably smooth. We hit the top of the hill and the trim (a secret favorit of mine) For me sitting in the front at that trim slows the train and causes me to fly up and have to hold onto the restraint for quite some time. I'm rather thankful that put a trim there, the resulting airtime is just great. Its then all out speed and screams the rest of the way, hit MCBR for a breif trim and then its back to full running into the tunnels. You know, its kinda freaky to be flying past fireflies as they light up inside the tunnel, cause you are sorta like, "What the f*** was that?" Going up the second lift you can see the newly reprofiled turn out of the first drop standing out like a sore thumb cause of the unpainted (or just bright new) wood. Now on to why I chose front/left seat. The train hurtles toward the helix, my arms up. No at the entrance, most people will pull their hands in at least a little (I like to sit in the back and watch everyone do that) but I just stick the up higher and listen to the people behind me scream cause they think I lost a hand. Though, to my suprise, they had lights on in the helix, so you could see the speed by the lights flying by but it took away the thrill of, "where the heck are we" After probably one of the best rides I've had on The Beast I head to the arcade to play some DDR. Now its been a while (almost a year and a half) so I'm a bit rusty. I get my three dollars in tokens and start playing. I instantly fail on the first level but I'm a sport and pump in more tokens and keep going. I barely pass and move on then fail again. Pump in more tokens, pass but again fail on the second level. By that time a huge crowd of high school kids arive and are like "oh wow, ddr" Of course I'm feeling like an idiot so I step down and laugh as they attempt to play as well making me feel at least a little better about myself. I look at the watch and its a little after 10 and its time to go home. Gotta be back at 7am for more fun at the island.

They picked those day to prevent the whole over crowding thing from happening again. Plus, maybe some kids will bring their mothers this sunday.

Actually I have a good one..... One day I was working up in the international resturuant above the front gate. I walked out into the main dinning room then into the other main room passing through the "waiting area" where you would put in your name and wait for a table. Well there was this old couple sitting there all patiently, that was a suprise to see people sitting there. They asked me when the restruant was opening. I wanted to laugh but couldn't. I had to explain how they closed a long time ago and that someone must have left the door unlocked. I almost felt bad cause I didn't know how long they sat there until I found them.

I guess that means the park needs to make the tower taller.

I think Mr. Seibert would actually like that page.

The park is actually hiring. Only for certain positions. No, the park does not offer housing and doesn't feel the need to offer it right now. This question was brought up at the begining of the year and was dismissed since most employees are locals.

Ken Griffy Jr. is in the park just about every year with whatever his kids charity group (or whatever it is).

I think the Huntington Bank thing we are stuck with. I'm sure most people in Cincinnati would love Fifth Third since its the local company, but PKI has accounts with Huntington Bank. Pretty sure its a corporate account so its not like PKI can just up and change. The whole corporation would have to do it. However, I know that before like '99 or 2000, there were Fifth Third ATM's at the front gate.

I don't think there is a video of this. If you want, i'm sure someone can make one, but I don't really see why. It just goes up and then down. Nothing too exciting for a video.

How many more "I want Phantom Theatre back" threads do we need.

I don't know if anyone else feels the same, but I think everyone's definition of thrill is different. So, I just ask you this..... When you ride Delirium..... Do you get off the ride with a smile and think "Boy that was pretty cool, I've never done anything like that before", or do you get off and think "That ride sucked, and was a waste of my time"? If you say it was pretty cool then you got a thrill. Whether it be a slight thrill, its still a thrill and maybe brought a smile to your face. If you got off and said it was a waste of your time then, no, you did not get a thrill from the ride. Now, I think the general consensus is that people are getting off the ride with a smile and are in some way slightly thrilled (or more). You aren't going to get the same reaction from people that just got off that ride as from the people who just got off a coaster. They are completly different rides which give completely different experiences, so I find it very hard to understand why people say "I liked the ride but didn't get a thrill out of it. Now give me a coaster and I'll be thrilled by that" Those people are still being thrilled but they much rather prefer the more intense thrill from a coaster and wondering why they aren't getting the same thrill from a flat ride. Simple, you're comparing apples to oranges.

True, the silver more matches the theme than the bright red did, but I don't like how the supporst and the track are the same color. If I had a choice I would make the track maybe like a sky blue, or a silvery blue, to pretend like it is the sky above the jet (the train). So, maybe not a bright blue, but more a metalic light blue that sorta shimmers or something. That would rock.
-
Yes, its true not everything gives the same thrill and not everyone gets thrilled from the same thing. Though I don't really see how anyone can not be thrilled by Delirium. You get to be flipped upside down. You have the speed and g-forces on the lowest part of the swing. You got the spinning. Its overall jjust a great ride and I've ridden it everyday so far.

How long have you had to wait for Delirium?
Beastfreak replied to PKICoasterFreek's topic in Coming Attractions
My waits have been short because I either go right when the park opens before I have to work (I cheat and cut through festhaus so I'm already at the entrance when they drop the rope) or near the end of the night when its been dead. So, no more than 15 minutes. -

You like the ride but you don't get a thrill? Well even if you don't get a thrill, its is considered a thrill ride cause of its type. To me, a thrill ride is like a flat ride, so that makes it one right there. -
You contradict yourself. You start saying its 32 years old (which is wrong) then end with "Happy 31"??
-
Yes, Top Gun is definetly back up to two trains.

Well, I'm still unaware of any housing assistance for anyone who lives "X" far away. I've never heard of it.
