They can either pull it through or take it apart. I don't know which they were doing but I assume pull it through since its a small ride and would be pretty simple to do instead of taking it apart and lifting it over to the station.

For those who haven't ridden it yet. The ride is simply breathe taking. You start slow and peaceful then you are violently flying back and forth past those massive supports and over the queue and walkway. When you are at the max of the rotation you feel like you've gone much further. Almost like you have gone vertical or further. This ride is just great. I expect many great rides all summer long.

I would say my name but no one would be able to find me cause my job consists of walking around the park or sitting in the office. So if you tried to find me you never would.
-
Yeah, I grabbed pictures of it stalled Saturday. I was around when they were pulling it through that night. I didn't have my camera with me to capture that.
-
Good, they picked a date between my coaster trips while I'll still be working. Now I have to remember to take a break during those times and go over.

OK, i swear the lion incident did not involve a death. No one ever fell out of The Vortex. No one ever died on The Bat. blah blah blah The only deaths were in fact the tower, Flight Commander and ONE person in the lake behind Oktoberfest. That makes three. I'm pretty sure that is the number because there was a paper that was floating around Kings Island two years ago that listed all the deaths, it was actually I think something out of the newspaper.

I'm pretty sure almost all schools are out on Good Friday, hence the reason the park is open all day rather than just 5-10. Having said that, I still don't think it will be too terribly packed, maybe 10-15,000 total with around 6,000 in the park at any given point. Which was about the same attendance as Saturday and Sunday, if you were there to compare. Side note, if anyone is coming, I'll be working so let me know if you wanna say hey.

It spins the same speed no matter where in the swing it is. I rode it today (after a failed attempt friday night due to the massive lines). I took a break around 8:45 right before the park closed to ride it. It was awsome, I don't really know how to describe my feelings for it. I definetly need to ride it a bunch more times tomorrow since I get off early. By the way PKI GUY (aaron) you were working and it didn't dawn on me who you were until after I left.
-
Just to let every know, there were well over 20,000 people in the park friday night. That blew away the final attendance for all of Saturday. Saturday (opening day) had a max attendance of 13,480 people total with no more thatn 7,000 in the park at one time.

The Bayern Curve is no longer in the park, it was located in the Oktoberfest area in the spot where Festhaus now sits. I'm assuming it was taken out in order to put Festhaus in. Though it may have been a year or so apart.

Or he had learned howto speak proper english and was flustered with all this "slang" and semi-southern draw (only if kentucky people were there) so he decided to remain silent.

The Beast always had "sleigh brakes" meaning they rubbed agains the bottom of the car to stop them. Then after the crash they added a mixture of fin and magnetic brakes. The magnetic are only trim brakes while the fin brakes are the MCB and station brakes. SOB has fin brakes cause they are fine, it was just the "sleigh brakes" on The Beast that can be less safe when wet.
-
Definetly wasn't an operator error, it was weather related. The wet brakes simply couldn't stop the train in time but it had slowed it down to about 5mph. I'm sure they will tweek the brakes through out the year or already have since they retracked the first turn out of the tunnel. We'll just have to wait and see come tomorrow night.

Hate to burst your bubble about the food. The food for the media previews have usually always been done by Dave Zelner (the new head of food service, the "executive chef" as you call him). He was the corporate chef for all of paramount before coming to us. Plus the food they serve during the media preview and other events is never the same as what they serve in the park during the normal time (minus the kid's menu, chicken fingers, mini corn dogs, curly fries). I'll be giving my report on everything after opening day and I get the chance to put it all together.
-
The expected attendance is I think around 20,000 or so for friday night which I think is a little high for just 5-10pm. I'm sure many people will not come and it won't be too crowded, maybe 15,000 or so at most.

I'm thinking the same thing.
-
Yeah I agree its simple while the ride isn't and that is cool. However I still think they needed the tornado logo somewhere all lit up.
-
I don't really expect anything to tall but definetly a custom tight layout most likely partially hidden. Yeah those things are massive no matter what but I feel they will hide most of it. Like you can only see the lift for SOB and not the rest of the ride, Beast... well that speaks for its self and the others. I'm sure KI won't go and just build it say in the middle of an area (IE the antique car zone) unless they plant a lot of trees or something to hide part of it. I just know that a new B&M (if that is what we get next) won't upset anyone and will be a great addition no matter what.
-
KI definetly is playing off the opposite group that CP mainly attracts. KI knows they can't compete for the same groups and win because they just don't have the rides like CP. Though as you can see, they are doing very well for what they do have, if not better than CP. Though this isn't about CP so I'm shutting up about that. KI very well knows that they can't keep building the same type of ride or attraction, thus the whole park will have the same feel no matter where you go. I'm sure we will see a big steel sometime but I don't expect to get a bunch and try to break records like CP or SFMM. KI mainly goes for the thrill and excitement from a ride that will create an experience or memory that you won't forget. So if we get big steel its obviously going to be something that blows most other coasters out of the water and still be pretty small, possibly.

No the Holiday Inn on the other side of the highway also has shuttle buses back and forth. I've stayed in both (even though I live right down the street, don't ask) I would say the Kings Island Resort is far better than the Holiday Inn, not only did I find the rooms better but also the KIR offers more.

Sorry, folks. The sign is done. No color just small LED lights rather than regular bulbs. Do we really need color?
-
I just wish they had the tornado thingy in the sign or a light up tornado sign some where near it. Maybe it will be added later.
-
The metal detectors are on the outside of the park, before you buy your tickets or go through the gates. Yeah they are just gutting Bubba Gumps, the outside of the building will just be repainted and rethemed. The front of the building will be extened out and the "food lines" will be changed around.
-
How about Bathrooms inside the front gate? Saying this even though I won't be showing up until 7 or 8.
-
Well the new sign is up and operational as of last week. The lights are much smaller than the old light board so it allows animations. Aparently I heard that they the first day they turned it on they ran an animation of The Racer like you were riding it but that has since been changed and is now displaying time, temp, how many more days till opening day and all the new stuff for the park with the only animation being the transistion from one message to the next. For those who said it would be a color board, you were wrong, its still just white lights but it looks much better than it used to.
