Ahh I see, in food we just have one crew for each stand.

U think that they might put a new section to pki?
Beastfreak replied to PKI_Man's topic in Kings Island
Over time we may see a new area but I just don't see the need for one in 2004 right now. Maybe by 2007 for the 35th aniversary. -
I want some pie, got any cherry pie? How about apple pie? By the way, "What the **** is pie?"

The Golf Course is across the street, and it doesn't belong to Kings Island anymore. Plus you would have to get permission from the state to build over the highway like that. I don't see that ever happening. At most I can see the employee lot being used and it going somewhere else, which I think they should do, or make a parking garage if ever needed.

I rode it so little I never realized when they were put on.

Easter 2001? I swore the lapbars where put in in 2002. I could be wrong.

What kind of Coaster should PKI build next?
Beastfreak replied to PKICoasterFreek's topic in Coming Attractions
Also, I doubt PKI would build an Intamin Impulse like Wicked Twister simply because of the fact we already have a "non-full curcuit" coaster, face/off. -
I would just like to point out my earlier statement. Those who truely care, don't forget.

You said it yourself. "Coaster" What the heck does queue have to do with "Coaster". Now if you said "world class themeing then you might have a point.

No one was argueing anything. We were simply stating our opinions. Neither of us feel that those people who are instantly saying its a floorless coaster and that they know all are telling the truth. Does Aaron posting this make him know everything, no. Notice the title of the thread is posed as a question. He doesn't know if it is true or not, but he sure hopes it is like everyone else.

Attractions / buildings MOST LIKELY to leave PKI
Beastfreak replied to italianchef's topic in Kings Island
Location, location, location. I can't stress that enough. Its also not very bright to have two food stands that offer the same type of service (whether it be burgers and fries at one and corndogs and chicken fingers at the other) so close to each other. Those three food stands (Magilla's, Huck Dairy, and Busytown) all need to be torn down and brought together as one. Make one larger resturaunt so more people can be serviced at once, offering what they had at each of the two normal food stands but pushed back so to open more space in front and create a roomier look and more inviting to the guests. Cause happy guests will buy more, its a proven fact. -
They have hinted at stuff to look out for this coming season as future development. The "land clearings" though don't really "hint" at a coaster, not when they are on opposite sides of the park. A coaster most likely wouldn't jump across the park and pretty doubtful they would wrap it really close around the edge of the park between those two points. Now always we can say they are builting two new coasters or those land clearings are for something totaly different. To answer your other part about a B&M giga. Supposedly Cedar Point had looked at different companies to make their giga and B&M was one of them, however B&M either didn't want to go that high or Cedar Point threw out their bid because of cost to get it that high. I don't know which if either is correct but that sounds about right. I'm sure they can do it and eventually they probably will but so far they haven't built one.

Very well said CoasterKrazy. Inside of the forums or out (as in real life talking face to face) you always have to be on the lookout for what to believe and what not to believe. There are people among us that are compulsive liers (sp?) and can tell you their mother died with a straight face knowing for a fact that she is fine and well. I base all my information of this "supposed new ride" at Kings Island off what has been said here (that is believable), what is printed in the ACE news and the pure hope that we get a B&M. These people that are supposedly "in the know" say they have copies of blue prints of the rides that were "proposed" and haven't even been approved yet. Now only a few ways they could have this, 1) they work for Bolliger & Mabillard 2) They work for Paramount Parks and would have to be high enough to be able to see them 3)just some extremely lucky fool. Now how likely is it that someone in California, who is a student (either high school or college) knows, and has seen (including have copies of) the blue prints for the other parks across america, when the head quarters for these parks is clear across on the continent and the coaster company is on the other side of the atlantic. Though whokonws, maybe they are that "extremely lucky fool" but I doubt it. The people that really are "in the know" have most likely signed confidentiality agreements with the companies and know that too much information leaked can lead to lawsuits so they aren't going to say.

Yeah, like I said, Face/Off and Runaway Reptar are both clones (from Vekoma, go figure) though before they came to Kings Island they color scheme and names changed, unlike all the Superman and Batman rides going around Six Flags. If this new coaster is a B&M it most likely wouldn't be a stand up because they have pretty much become extinct (though they still could be built) so that would rule out a clone of the two Vortex's at the other Paramount Parks. If they did clone that they would have to change the name at least because we already have a ride named that. It could be an invert (my favorite, if I haven't mentioned that enough) and it could be a clone of the Top Gun's at the other Paramount Parks as well, though it would have to have a name change as well since we also have a ride named after that. Though, there aren't any new "jet related" movies coming out for them to theme it after. Now, Paramount also wouldn't clone a ride that belongs to Six Flags (ie S:UF, Nitro, Medusa or the like) just because it isn't their style to copy, plus they want to be different to draw the crowds away from the other parks. Now we just have to wait and see as to what we get, where it goes and anything else for 2004.

I want to see Wild Mouse on crack. I know it isn't family oriented, but I want one just beefed up and huge.

My guess is a totally new layout of an existing coater type.

Beastfreak replied to italianchef's topic in Kings Island
I will second the motion of Magilla's getting the boot. It was rumored that it wouldn't be around for the 2003 season but it looks like it has survived and will be surving "grilled cheese" this year. I still see it leaving in the next few years with a restructuring of the food service in HB to provide a little more space for new rides. -
If it is a terrain speed coaster, they will have a lot of land prep to do. So they could very easily start clearing the trees and that needed to lay the footers and clear the path for the coaster. That in itself would be a lot of work with the shape of the land around KI.
-
They could always announce that they are building a new coaster and if it is themed they could announce that part as well. Again using the building hype like they did with Tomb Raider, not announce what kind of ride, layout or what not until later on.

Dang, I just saw that since my mail didn't come until 6pm today (What the f***?) They mention "not their first", as in not the first visit they have made to PKI. That could be taken two ways. 1) They have either made an offer to KI and KI refused, or KI made an offer to B&M and they refused. or 2) They have been out to map out the coaster's terrain and get a feel for where the ride will go to make the most out of the design. Hopefully its number 2. Hopefully its that awesome B&M invert that I've been wanting, but heck any B&M is good to me.

I've ridden the Top Gun at Carowinds, let me tell you that ride is awsome with the flips and turns and tunnels. Throw that exact coaster in our Top Gun's spot using the same station and queue area, now you got one heck of a ride. Again, all the more reason I voted for the B&M invert to be on my wish list for the next coaster in KI. -

Beastfreak replied to PKICoasterFreek's topic in Coming Attractions
I can definetly see a B&M ride much like Apollo's Chariot or Nitro, using the hills behind the park and all that land. It would fit well. Of course it would have to be a custom layout if it were to go into Kings Island. KI knows not to buy a copy of a ride another chain uses. (FOF, Face/Off, and Reptar don't count since they either were built at the same time as in FOF, or the names and paint schemes were changed like Face/Off and Reptar, though all built by other Paramount Parks) Having it go all the way down to the river and back would be pretty awesome or to have it wrap around behind SOB somewhere. -
Speaking of burning, we always wanted to have a huge Bonfire out of SOB its first year if they didn't get it working. Though, The Beast, Eifel Tower, the carousel (it could be redone but not taken out, maybe moved), the fountains and probably the international restruant all most likely would never leave the park. Oh and The Racers as well. Everything I could see being taken out but those things are basically the landmarks of the park and what it is known for.

Correction. B&M coasters are made in Batavia, OH. That is east of Cincinnati and outside the 275 loop. It is no where near 71. Though it would still be a short trip for the track to get from the plant to Kings Island. -
I'm just affraid that over a short time those tables and chairs that are just "thrown around" will look like crap and make the ride look dull and dingy when its supposed to be bright and cheerful. I don't think they will theme anything to the ride. No TV stuff about tornados, no big air siren, or anything. Just bright colors and maybe some signs like they had on Drop Zone of the falling cow when it first opened.
