  1. I will say that C.H.A.O.S. last year was great. It's honestly probably my favorite maze.
  2. Cedar Point has generally terrible operations compared to Kings Island. Steel Vengeance this year is especially obnoxious. Nobody has any idea what they're doing, whether it be guests or employees.
  3. I love the Flight of Fear queue video. Yeah, it's cheesy...but so is the original Outer Limits show.
  4. I've ridden all three as well. GateKeeper has the near-misses and beachfront location, but I personally think the ride feels just like Banshee. Raptor was way too rough for me to enjoy or notice anything else about the ride experience.
  5. Yes, it was mentioned while it was at Coney Island. However, the closure was never reported in the newspaper (but nether was the closure of Halley’s Comet, the Rotor, etc.). Even most of the executives that I've talked to from that time don’t remember why the ride was removed.
  6. No. However, the Western Star (Lebanon) is archived at the Warren County Historical Society and the Cincinnati Post and Cincinnati Enquirer are archived at the Cincinnati Public Library. The Cincinnati Enquirer’s coverage on this story was limited to the article posted above, from 6/22/1978. The Cincinnati Post’s lone article on this story was from 10/17/1978.
  7. GateKeeper rides exactly like Banshee. A wing coaster would be a waste of money since we already have Banshee, which provides a nearly identical ride experience IMO.
  8. I believe they are just relocating it within the park.
  9. It was mid-1978. Both these photos were from 1978, one from earlier in the season and then one from August of that year. (Photos ripped from the Kings Island Ride Ops pre-Paramount Facebook page.) Additionally, both Bavarian Beetle and the Ferris Wheel are in the 1978 employee yearbook, and they both have largely the same crew.
  10. It was removed mid-season 1978. The explanation I have heard is that it was mechanically worn (it was built to be a traveling coaster) and was simply deemed not worth keeping.
  11. For the record, Kings Island cost $31,012,000 to build in 1972.

The entrance plaza blueprints have already been submitted though. This page has been labeled “Entry Plaza Concept.” Really, the only major things they are doing are: The giga, queue, and station Ride photo building at Flight of Fear lockers Firehawk’s queue tied to Flight of Fear Removal of that little food stand. The plush barn and maintenance buildings are staying. The path will be the same size, unfortunately.

The trademark was filed April 24, 2013: https://trademark.trademarkia.com/Banshee-85913369.html. For comparison, Orion and Polaris was filed April 30, 2019. Just generally speaking, this site has all the trademark information, including dates of filing. It’s definitely interesting to read through. https://www.trademarkia.com/company-cedar-fair-lp-222594-page-1-2

Banshee was also filed at the same time of year as Orion and Polaris.

Hate to be that guy, but none of that is happening based off the blueprints. I sure wish it was, though!

X-Base has always been considered like a “neighborhood” of Coney Mall.
  17. Cedar Point also still has two sets of Antique Cars. I don’t think Cedar Fair would have torn them out.

For the teasing? Chad Showalter. Don handles digital marketing now, not PR.

Zodiac was a ride on the spot of Kings Mills Antique Autos from 1975-1986.

Clamshells are the bars on Diamondback.

He’s a user on here promoting the documentary he’s making. I think some of the comments are being left by the park, but this is not one of them.
  22. KIghostguy replied to fryoj's topic in Kings Island
The ride was at the park for 9 years, so it’s more likely a reference to that.

Beauregard Chamberlain is the name of Maverick at Cedar Point. He is also the proprietor of the Cedar Creek Mining Company in the backstory to Frontier Town.

To be fair, tallest and fastest in the park is “some kind of record.”
