  1. That’s the same video that was released when this project was first announced in January. I believe someone already posted on here a more recent photo showing all the trees gone.
  2. Off the top of my head, many of the thrill rides at Disneyland have pouches (Space Mountain and Indiana Jones Adventure immediately come to my mind). They work very well and dispatches are still very efficient.
  3. Raptor at Cedar Point is probably the worst I've ever been on. I found it to be violently rough, to the point that it left physical bruises on me. The Big One at Blackpool Pleasure Beach is also pretty awful. Very rough and incredibly boring.
  4. The ride was referred to as "America's champion roller coaster" in press releases, but I don't believe Champion was ever seriously considered as the name. I do know that "The Runaway" was very close to becoming the official name.
  5. Firehawk’s station is gone. From Wild Gravity Travels on Facebook (circle added by me).
  6. Disneyland’s Main Street, U.S.A. still has a sidewalk. I’m sure Kings Island can make it work.
  7. Patriotism isn't bad, but those flags could be relocated somewhere else. They disrupt the clean visual sight line of the fountain and tower.
  8. I had a really great season. Here is a review of this year! http://kingsislandghosts.blogspot.com/2018/12/2018-kings-island-year-in-review.html
  9. They aren’t hints for future attractions; they’re just fun Easter eggs.
  10. Have you even ridden it? It's small in size, but it packs quite a wallop. $15 million is not a small investment like you seem to think.
  11. It was added for this Winterfest to prevent it from valleying like last year.
  12. I don't know when you last visited, but Banshee is not Kings Island's last major coaster installation. As far as wing coasters, I've only ridden GateKeeper but I thought that the ride experience (outside of the near-miss elements) felt nearly identical to Banshee.
  13. I think most 20-year-olds have the common sense to not leave your jeep in a lion enclosure, especially if you have been told not to multiple times.
  14. I don’t think the park has said anything yet.
  15. New blog post up, this one on Firehawk's last flight. Bring your tissues for this one (just kidding). http://kingsislandghosts.blogspot.com/2018/11/Firehawks-final-flight.html
  16. It’s supposed to parody Mark Twain’s famous quote, “The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.”
  17. Or, conversely, if 10/28 is the final day of operation for the ride, this would be confirmation that it is a coaster.
  18. Probably staffing. There were three Scare Actors in the whole Backwoods Bayou maze when I went through last year.
  19. New blog post is up. A document in photos of an area that will look very different next year. http://kingsislandghosts.blogspot.com/2018/09/a-changing-landscape.html
  20. I really enjoyed Icon at Blackpool Pleasure Beach; this looks to be even better! I have never been to Carowinds...next year might change that!
  21. The Rivertown side was called the Ohio Overland Auto Livery and the Coney Mall side was Les Taxis. The Auto Livery closed in 1997 or 1998 (I have heard differing dates). I am not sure why one side closed several years before the other side. There was no announcement or article that ran in any area newspapers when it closed.
  22. There are buildings “off the beaten track” that are used for mazes—see Blackout, Slaughterhouse, etc. The Crypt building and the former arcade are very large, very prominent buildings located right on the main midway that are essentially abandoned. If you had never been to Kings Island before, what would your impression be of the park with giant vacant buildings rotting away on the main midways?
  23. That's disappointing. It is such a large, prominently placed eyesore that is abandoned for most of the year.
