SANDUSKY, Ohio, Sept 03, 2009 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Cedar Fair

Entertainment Company (NYSE: FUN), a leader in regional amusement parks, water

parks and active entertainment, today reported that it has reached an agreement

with United Media to bring the PEANUTS characters to five more of its parks for

next summer.

"We are thrilled to be able to expand the PEANUTS brand to five of our other

parks," said Dick Kinzel, Cedar Fair's chairman, president and chief executive

officer. "PEANUTS and Cedar Fair are synonymous with good, wholesome family fun

and we believe our guests, both young and old alike, will enjoy spending time

next summer with Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus and everyone's favorite beagle -

Snoopy!"

Canada's Wonderland, near Toronto; Kings Dominion, in Doswell, Va.; Carowinds in

Charlotte, NC; Kings Island near Cincinnati, Ohio; and California's Great

America will welcome the lovable PEANUTS characters to their parks in 2010. The

PEANUTS characters will be integrated into the parks through rebranding of

existing kids' areas, and in some cases new rides, live shows and attractions.

The PEANUTS characters have been entertaining kids of all ages for years at

Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, California; Cedar Point and Geauga Lake's

Wildwater Kingdom in Ohio; Dorney Park in Allentown, Pa.; Michigan's Adventure

near Muskegon, Mich.; and Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, Mo.

"For nearly 30 years, Cedar Fair and PEANUTS have enjoyed a successful

partnership, and we are pleased that we're not only extending this association,

but expanding our presence into five additional parks," said Doug Stern,

President and CEO of United Media. "In all avenues of the consumer experience,

Cedar Fair reaches families in a fun and amusing way. The PEANUTS characters,

with their broad appeal to fans of all ages, are brought to life vividly through

the attractions, themed rides, ice shows, character appearances, and skits."

Starring an unlikely round-headed hero and a unique cast of young characters

wiser and wittier than their years, Charles Schulz's PEANUTS is not just the

best-known, most-loved comic strip ever created, but a true global phenomenon.

The PEANUTS characters are featured in 2,200 newspapers, in classic television

specials and on remastered DVDs, on stage, in hundreds of books and across the

Internet. They have inspired every kind of consumer product from t-shirts to

toothbrushes.

This was already confirmed last week??? There is a thread talking about it already.

That was just a rumor. It was never confirmed. Now, it has been confirmed.

*Yes, I realize there were screenshots. But, it was never confirmed.

It was information from the official KI website. Just like this "confirmed" new is from the official CF website. It was already confirmed. This comes at no surprise to anyone. The only thing we are speculating is if Scooby will also be replaced or if he will stay.

I knew that webpage was from the KI website. But, it was quickly taken down, so they didn't confirm it. Also, it could've been hadcked or something (I know, not likely, but KI still didn't confirm it). Which, by the way, they still haven't confirmed it. I wonder when they will?

well times are a changing.... Again I am probably beating a dead horse, but the only problem with this is that Peanuts are not ACTIVELY being shown to the youth.... Kids areas are for kids... but it will be great fun to see a brand new area... I am excited...

Buy a Bottle of Water

Purchase a bottled water along the main drag when you arrive. Refill it all day at the many water fountains located at each restroom. This will help cut down on the kid’s soda intake, and nothing’s worse than being thirsty in line while staring down those $3.75 soda machines.

Has this person EVER been to KI? They obviously don't know about the free water. And why isn't "eat at Wendys or Taco Bell!" an option for food?

Carowinds' has been confirmed as being rethemed, so I would only assume that ours would be... that'd make three rides being removed next year, and that's not going to generate pass sales...

Since when were SOB and The Crypt confirmed to be torn down next year? The Crypt is probably the most likely, though. SOB just needs to be completely retracked by a well-known company.

Well, I see them doing what used to be in that building which was the smurfs, which my mom told me about how you went through it it was all the seasons, with the smurfs in all of them (But I don't know if that's what was really in their). They could do The 4 seasons spring, summer, fall, and winter with all the Peanuts characters. That would be interesting, especially if they would incorporate the guns into it.

^What kind of camera would you use?

I can imagine the old dark ride being bulldozed to the ground and hauled off in heaps of dusty, twisted, multi-colored scrap, razed like a condemned warehouse and replaced with some lush green space, or perhaps a wee flat or two.

Well, im pretty sure other people wouldn't. Everything Cedar Fair does you have to say something really negative about it. I cant wait to see what they do with Nick U, id MUCH rather have the Peanuts gang in their than Nickelodeon. Snoopy is just better in my opinion. So read my signature, and say what you gotta say.

Now that it appears to be official that Scooby is leaving, I have a favor to ask of KIC...please PLEASE try and arrange a special tour of The Haunted Castle for KIC members before it is dismantled.

I would like to take as many photos of the interior as possible...something I never do while I am on the ride. A walk through would be my ideal, but I could also live with just riding through it a few times with permission to take photos.

I hope that you might be able to pull this off...it would mean a lot to me...and I am guessing I would not be alone.

Here's to hoping...
