Guest PizzaBaby027 Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 I have a feeling that they will be getting rid of the entrance of The FX T, at least I hope they do. Convert the exit into both the entrance and exit!! Quote
teenageninja Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 ^ I have a feeling that you are wrong. Quote
IndyGuy4KI Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 I have a feeling that they will be getting rid of the entrance of The FX T, at least I hope they do. Convert the exit into both the entrance and exit!! Either way it is going to be crowded at the end of CM this season! Quote
skaterboy22101 Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 By the looks of the web cam, I'm pretty sure they will start vertical construction of the actual ride Friday or Saturday. Quote
IndyGuy4KI Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 I can not get over how fast they can pour concrete! Quote
HTCO Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Kings Island just tweeted "Be sure to watch the WindSeeker web cam tomorrow". Could be interesting! Quote
74Gibson Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 I'm guessing vertical construction. My friend and his g/f stopped by and got some pics of the tower in the lot. She sat inside (I know, I felt like lecturing her too) and you can really tell how huge this thing is. Quote
nhimes90 Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 I have a feeling that they will be getting rid of the entrance of The FX T, at least I hope they do. Convert the exit into both the entrance and exit!! That's what I was kinda thinking too. Just make the old exit the new entrance and exit. I really don't think there will be enough room to keep the pre-existing entrance where it is. Quote
HTCO Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Looks like they got it assembled! I'm guessing they will start vertical construction tomorrow! Quote
Creed Bratton Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Canada's Wonderland has started vertical construction. Canada's Wonderland Facebook Talking with a rep from KI, parts should be going up Friday or Saturday Quote
Coaster Kid Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 If Vertical Construction begins tommorow then ill have to check it all the time in class. Which is no big haha. The funny thing is me and my science teacher discuss Coasters and Parks all the time! Quote
TylerRider Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Canada's Wonderland better not be sneaky and open theirs up first. Quote
CoastersRZ Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 How can they? They open for the season on Sunday, May 8th. Cedar Point opens on Saturday, May 14th. Kings Island is the first of the seasonal parks building WindSeekers to open for the season. And for those curious, there is also now a crane on site up at Cedar Point. Notice, the difference in concrete pouring for the ride area between Kings Island`s and Cedar Point`s version of WindSeeker. http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/fun/webcams/index.cfm Quote
Oldschool75 Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 They're getting ready, The cables and straps are coming out. Quote
Snowman Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Hard hat guy, " Sooo.. the entrance is going over here, and the blue piece goes here....." Cap guy, " But.....if the blue piece goes here.... then the crane should be over here..." Hard hat guy, "OH CRAP... we built the friggin' crane on the wrong side!" Third guy, "Wait a minute....You guys got the blueprints upside down" Hard hat guy, "WHEWWW" Tensions are riding high! Edit: Picture changed, never mind, It was funny at the time, nothing to see here, just keep moving.... Quote
Guest PizzaBaby027 Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I must say it is very beautiful with the sun shining, can't wait to see the sun shine down over there with all the landscape and new ride!!! Quote
74Gibson Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Brian, those are extension cords for power their power tools. You can see a circular saw on top of the plywood/chipboard they are cutting. They're just working on the both. Patience young Grasshopper:D Quote
Outdoor Man Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 this has probably been discussed- but given the other new attraction, coupled with the fact that the action theater's entrance appears to be blocked by Wind Seeker- can we assume that Action Theater will become part of a new section of the park on the other side of The Racer? IndyGuy4KI Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 It looks link anchors for hand railing and queue lines are being attached to the concrete now. I saw some hand railing earlier but not on the cam now! EDIT: There is railing on the cam right now. Who knows for how long though? Quote
Coaster Kid Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 There all standing in a circle now. Hmmmmmm I wonder whats about to happen;) Quote
IndyGuy4KI Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 what is the link to the webcam? Here ya go! http://www.visitkingsisland.com/public/fun/webcams/index.cfm Quote
grsmerdel06 Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I thought they were gonna go vertical today? They said to watch the webcam on their Twitter. Kind of disappointed right now. Quote
jcgoble3 Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 From KI's Facebook page: Big day tomorrow! Vertical construction of the new 301' tall WindSeeker ride is ready to begin! Also, in the comments: Will you fine folks be putting up another webcam (on Vortex or the Eiffel Tower) so we can see this going up from a distance? Yes, a second webcam is going up that will be focused on the construction of WindSeeker Quote
Diamondback FOF Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 I wonder if that crane is at the full height it'll need to be at to put the top couple pieces on? I realize perspectives can be weird but that doesn't appear to be over 300 feet tall haha Quote
Truth Seeker Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 It doesn't matter, they have to put the ones closest to the ground on first. Quote
