Diamondback FOF
That sounds about right. But it will go by very fast! I'm kinda nervous about the waits for the lines. It seems like it will take a while ro load and unload. How many pairs of seats are there? If it has a really long line (which I don't doubt) when it opens, the line will extend really far down the Coney Mall midway! There isn't much queue space by the ride... You can see the queue at the bottom of this photo
SOB_TOM
Speaking of that picture, whats up with the awning angles? Are they doing the separate triangles, AKA Firehawk, or one continuous awning that stretches the entire length of the queue?
HTCO
Just to let everyone know excpect a story at Kings Island tonight, or if not already, on WLWT or FOX19. As I saw both of those vans pulling into the drop off area at about 8:00pm. I am not completely sure why, just and observation I thought I would bring to you guys. Diamondback FOF
It could be related to this... http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23938&view=findpost&p=430199
Dieseltech20
It was, just saw the report on TV here at the Hotel. On topic. WindSeeker now has all its shocks mounted.

CoastersRZ
I`d say do not expect it to open this weekend. That just seems a little unlikely to me, but stranger things have happened.
THE_BEASTmaster
I did ask Don Helbig Tuesday when WS is expected to be open and he said within a week. He said that they'll be doing tests and have it certified soon.
Diamondback FOF
Wait, they closed it after they just opened it for the second time?
Oldiesmann
On a related note, the test dummies that they're using on WS were originally from B&M but are now property of Carowinds... On the back of them, "Property of B&M" is printed in large blue lettering (possibly spray-painted on there with a stencil), but someone with a permanent ink marker crossed out "B&M" and wrote "Carowinds" under it. The B&M part makes me wonder if these are the same dummies that they use for testing Diamondback in the pre-season.
BoddaH1994
I did ask Don Helbig Tuesday when WS is expected to be open and he said within a week. He said that they'll be doing tests and have it certified soon. [Original post removed to avoid confusion] To clarify, I talked to Don Helbig today and he said that work is continuing on WindSeeker, but there is still no ETA on its opening. I wouldn't necessarily count on it opening within a week.
markhudson17
^ But we can still dream, can't we?
KI FANATIC 37
Hahaha. Yeah at GWL right now, that would be awesome if it opened tomorrow, but it won't. Lol
dr_humor
Good news from Sandusky. Full speed testing, and the crew for the ride was on-site yesterday at CP.
mikejenkins1
I would expect an opening sson from KI/CP. Not sure when but the CW one is running and definitely at full speed. WOW.
dr_humor
Looks like CP is opening tomorrow. How is KI doing? Love the music they have added...
TylerRider
That light package is insane! That will no doubt be one of the best things to see at night at all four parks. I like to Harry Potter music.
KI FANATIC 37
Looks like CP is opening tomorrow. How is KI doing? Love the music they have added... Ki's, well, I dont think too well. I was there yesturday and it didn't spin at all, all day. It only went half way up and stopped....
Beast1979
I was there all day today and really only saw it move once, where it slowly went to the top of the tower then slowly went down. When I rode Red Racer I saw that the backs of many seats were removed, among other pieces scattered about.
mikejenkins1
Well see CP WindSeeker doing full testing and full spin today on cam. I would expect from what we are hearing they will be next. Kinda funny as it was supposed to open KI, CP, CW and appears to be ending up in reverse....
frisbeefan
I would think KI is getting close. I just checked the webcam and the seats were away from the tower more than when they raise it up and down. It was only a 1/4 up the tower and came down, but definately the speed is increasing. Outdoor Man
when they bought it- didn't the guy at Sears say it should work just fine? sheesh.... it's taking forever to get these things running. So, next year when WindSeeker, version 2.0 comes out- will it obsolete the current CF editions?
KI FANATIC 37
I feel kind of bad for KI. Its not their fault that WS is still closed. And during their announcement for WS, they were bragging about how theirs would be the first to open. It looks like they will be the 3rd to open now... IndyGuy4KI
I know it is disappointing that it has not opened yet, but my opinion is that KI should take as much time as needed before taking me 301' in the air on it. Safety is way more important than any deadline or upset visitors who came to ride it.
standbyme
Safety is way more important than any deadline or upset visitors who came to ride it. I know the park would never do it...but wouldn't it be fun that after they had done all of the safety tests they still put up a sign that stated something to the affect: "This ride has not been fully tested for safety...ride at your own risk". I think we would then see who the REAL thrillseekers in this world were...I know I wouldn't qualify.
bkroz
Looks like CP is opening tomorrow. How is KI doing? Love the music they have added... Wow. The music makes it like a very peaceful lullaby. I love it! The question is, if Kings Island's features the same music, can we officially think of it as a movie park again? We'll have music from the Harry Potter franchise, music from Inception, and (whether they like it or not) a ride that recreates scene-for-scene the finale of The Italian Job. Add that to the very movie-worthy Flight of Fear, the new songs on Delirium and Drop Zone, the flight deck on Flight Deck, and Dinosaurs Alive and I'd say we have a very detail-oriented seasonal amusement park again! Also, I love how the WindSeeker logo sign changes colors with the tower. Such detail on this ride! I'm thoroughly impressed.
arichmann
Maybe all the new music from movies on the rides mean that they are prepping the park and getting it ready for a possible buy out of Cedar Fair. Can you imagine the park being bought by Universal? That would be awesome!! Universal's Kings Island. It just rolls off the tongue. The rides would have better names and all that theming they could bring to here. It would be the ultimate "theme" park in Ohio.
