TTD-120-420 Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 This is so much fun. I would love to have Don's job right now!
IndyGuy4KI Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Got it. Flying B&M. For 2012 maybe, but not 2011. We already have a flying coaster. Firehawk, remember? I never said it was a pratical, which I believe was part of HTCO's point as well.
CoasterGeek101 Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Yeah, I discovered something. I looked at the HTML source of the 2011 Teaser page and the header is under a folder called "capital11" Or is that usless material

TTD-120-420 Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 "Capital11" would be saying they are spending some money on this project, right?
KILateNighter Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Yeah, I discovered something. I looked at the HTML source of the 2011 Teaser page and the header is under a folder called "capital11" Or is that usless material On IE9 and maybe 8 push F12 and you can get the pages metadata.
kjkjkj Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 This could be an attraction for 2012, we don't know for sure yet. Reasons why it probably isn't a Dino Trail: Trail of Terror has a paved trail that runs through those woods where the red outline thing was. So if they were going to make a Dino Trail, wouldn't they just use the Trail of Terror path that is ALREADY there? They wouldn't have to take any trees out either. If that red outline was really for the "world's longest" Dino trail walk through attraction, then it would overlap parts of Trail of Terror too.
CoasterFreak45 Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 It kinda looks like the teaser picture on the website was simply zoomed in, and every day maybe they zoom out a little further until it reveals the logo on the 18th maybe?
TTD-120-420 Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 ^^They would still have to remove trees to assemble Dino anamatronics.
CoasterGeek101 Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 I would laugh if Don is reading this right now!
UnrealNightmare Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Seriously guys it's a roller coaster with Delorean trains that's going to actually take us back in time and we'll get to see the Land Before Time. Also Ducky and Longneck will be there....

Aaron88stang Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 The picture behind somthing big is coming has changed: http://www.visitking...k/mud/index.cfm It looks like it could be the fur of a beast's son It still looks more like reptile skin to me. I am very curious to see what this turns out to be.
Diamondback FOF Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 All that depends on when it is coming. If it is for 2011, which it seems, a coaster of any kind has to be out the question, unless there has been some serious secret construction going on. hehe construction without spotting any supports or track during the past couple months. I think that'd be kinda funny...and nearly impossible...
THE_BEASTmaster Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Quick question. Is the King Cobra's sign still at the parks sign shop? Maybe this announcement could be a new King Cobra.
KIfan73 Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 hehe construction without spotting any supports or track during the past couple months. I think that'd be kinda funny...and nearly impossible... Although focusing attention to a 300' tall swinging ride would make for a great distraction...if a distraction was needed/desired!
Guest rcfreak339 Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Quick question. Is the King Cobra's sign still at the parks sign shop? Maybe this announcement could be a new King Cobra. International Restaurant 2008.
THE_BEASTmaster Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Hey thanks. Last time I was in the International Restaurant, was for the Firehawk construction tour. That wasn't up on the wall then OR I just didn't notice it.
Guest PizzaBaby027 Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 I read one post that said 2011 will be the 40th season well I would like to clarify that the upcoming season will indeed be the 39th season! Just wanted to let that be known!
coaster_junky Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 i can't wait for the announcement, but i'm seriously doubting it's anything about Son of Beast, unless with a overhaul it's getting a new name as well.
PKIVortex Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 I could see KI getting a new coaster in 2012. We will find out what this is all about in 6 days!
KIfan1980 Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 - year/season 1 = 1972 - year 2 = 1973 - year 10 = 1981 ... - year/season 40 = 2011 Think of your birthdays, you turn 1 at the end of your first year.

Although focusing attention to a 300' tall swinging ride would make for a great distraction...if a distraction was needed/desired! haha VERY true! I wonder...
Guest rcfreak339 Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Hey thanks. Last time I was in the International Restaurant, was for the Firehawk construction tour. That wasn't up on the wall then OR I just didn't notice it. That sign I think was removed at the end of the season, but the King Cobra sign was never in the main dining area. It was located in the room far left if you're climbing up the stairs.
The Interpreter Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Also, although those are signs showing the rides' logos (see especially the Drop Zone sign), they are not the actual signs that were used to attract visitors to the rides...those signs were much, much larger.
Erosarrow05 Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 I do believe the King Cobra sign is the original... see: http://www.kiextreme.com/history_kingcobra.php
The Interpreter Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 From the looks of that, it may very well be! Or at least be the letters from that sign. Thanks!
KIfan73 Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 One thing that excites me is that this font/style Reminds me of this:
bkroz Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 ^ Wow.. Really good find. Even looking at the 'E' and 'N,' it may in fact be the exact same font. If only one of the more disctinctive letters like the R or A was in 'SOMETHING BIG.'
