It really doesn't matter anyway as people will do whatever they want! Maybe it's about freedom, or them wanting to be comfortable? Then again today's society has more of a go against the grain approach, stick it to the man if you will.

At CP, you are allowed to wear your swimsuit on Snake River Falls, Thunder Canyon and Shoot the Rapids and you can even go barefoot on those rides. I don't understand why KI won't allow such on White Water Canyon and Congo Falls. ( Unless they have changed the rules on those rides since Cedar Fair took over.)

But a ride operator might. Another may not. Another may know full well that it is not allowed, but the 16-year-old part timer doesn't find it worth his minimum wage hourly pay to confront the loud, half-naked group of teenagers who's strutting their stuff down the path. Perhaps one security guard finds it a punishable offense, while another just rolls his eyes because he has more important ways to spend his time.

I find this a little offensive. Female guests are allowed to wear their bikini top, but must be wearing shorts. While the male guests must have a shirt on the entire time they are in the park. If they don't comply then we call security to try and convince them. If they still don't comply they're gone. End of story. And if we don't tell them to put there clothes on we get written up. So to say that we don't find it worth our time, you are wrong. So make sure you actually know what you are talking about before you post. Thanks.

HTCO, is 16 and put in 68 hours last week... Part time huh?

^ I honestly don't believe he meant every 16 year old, but the typical 16 year old, at thier first job, confronting an older person (perhaps adult or group of adults) about following the rules.

Do yourself a favor and don't take generalizations peronally.

(and get some sleep, you are working lots of hours and seem a bit cranky! ;) )

Yesterday at the park I saw one of the park's "higher ups" walking about 5 feet behind a boy without a shirt on and did nothing. (The boy was about 11-12 years old.)

As a side note...I didn't know it was against park rules to not have a shirt on back when I was at the park in the late 80's...I found out when I took my shirt off and hadn't barely had it over my head before I was approached by an employee saying that I would have to put it back on. :P

The time's they are a changin'.

I guess some ways to enforce a dress code might be:

  • Watch the exit at BB into the main park and make sure patrons are wearing the required colthing
  • Post enormous signs at said exit and main park entrance that clearly spell out the dress code/rules

Holiday World does exactly that at the entrance/exit to Splashin' Safari. They even have someone staffed at the Pilgrim's Plunge area (which is accessible from both sections of the park) looking for dress code violations.

Beat me to that Gator. I have seen these employees stop many people and I have never seen a park guest argue with that. Most are like "oh yeah slipped my mind."

On the subject as a whole. I go to the park to have fun, relax, meet fellow KICers, watch my children have a good time. In the process I try and learn more about KI and the rides in the park. I am not worried about what people are wearing even though some are attracting attention to themselves and really can't be unnoticed. People breaking what I call the "common sense rules" Smoking/Line Cutting/Being rude/etc does get frustrating at times, but the only person that is letting me be upset about it is myself. I make the decided to be upset about it.

There is always room for improvement with security, but keep this in mind while you are dealing with a few line cutters and rude smokers, the security guard could be dealing with some other guy trying to pick a fight. Just cause you may see them walk by and not doing something, it does not mean they did not just defuse an situation that kept you safe.

I agree with this statement...but I just can't seem to not let it get to me even if I try. The main reason I feel like that is I like to play by the rules...and I don't think there should be 2 sets of them. When I see people disregarding the dress code it strikes me that most of them feel that they are better than everyone else and that the rules don't apply to them. (How's that for an inner working of my brain?! )

The other thing that I think about is why shouldn't I be able to break a park rule that I personally don't like if I choose...fair is fair. (Maybe I think line jumping SHOULD be a sport!)

Yesterday at the park, I like many others spotted more bikinis and shirtless guys than I can count. (And the majority of them would have done both themselves and me a big favor by covering up!)

Is the dress code offenders that big of a deal...possibly not...but it's a slippery slope that could make the park appear less "classy".

If you look at the above, it seems as though associates have been trained that bikini tops meet the dress code for Female guests.

As I read the Attire and Behavior section of the park map, it says - Shirts, shorts/pants and shoes must be worn at all times while at Kings Island. I must be old school since I don't really consider a bikini top as a shirt.

This is getting bad lol

I'm old school on many things but am certainly very comfortable around women in bikini tops. Being 34, I find scantily dressed teens pretty nasty but...

I think our society sends some pretty confusing messages about intimacy. Look at some documentaries or... actual primary research (pm me) on teen pregnancies and birth rates, in the us, compared to other countries. It'll get ya thinking

Edit: to fix auto correct

Ugh....everyone's offended by everything these days. With the world we live in, the only way to keep your family from seeing things you don't want them to see, is to keep them under a sheltered rock. If not, then they are going to be exposed no matter what. Unless KI makes it to where you have to wear a uniform all the time, people are going to do what they want no matter what.

^ Although KI would never make a guest wear a uniform, it would not matter.

There would still be complaints that someone's uniform was: too big/ small, wrong color, untucked etc.

Some only see want they want to see. If they concentrate on looking for rulebreakers, those committing infractions will be found.

Just as I can't ignore a beautiful sunset...or a dead bloated deer along side the road I can not help but notice some of these people. ;)

So obviously you are talking about us here on the board and not the employees?
