KIfan73
Freestyle Coke machines...the painting of Invertigo...new magic show...new focus on food items...all the clues are pointing to an remodel/expansion of Action Zone. Sorry, I just had to do that
HHauntFanatic
Assuming, of course, that it is self serve, an assumption I am not at all certain is a safe one. I would hope not. As someone mentioned before, I could just imagine that being a mess and the germs on those machines.....Just makes me cringe thinking about it. kingsrattler
^ So do you not go to any food service facility that has self serve drinks?
Hendrick
If they weren't, what would be the point of them? You wouldn't be able to view the countless options or interact with it. I believe that would defeat the purpose. As much as I'm inclined to agree with you, Mongolian BBQ has them, and they are not self service. They have all the combinations listed out on the mat that sits on your table.
kblanken
I just noticed today that Six Flags M&M has a freestyle Coke machine. It is self-serve, just siiting inside a candy/gift shop near the checkout counter.
Maglados
Kings Island are getting Coke Freestyle machines for this season. With what these machines cost does anybody else think Coke is here to stay? Not trying to look too far into this like people are with Invertigo's paint job. Just putting stuff together. I heard somthing around 20k or 40k per machine( seems a little high but that's what i heard.) I live in Kentucky and there is a FireHouse subs in Nicholasville and they have a Coke Freestyle. I do suggest that Sprite Strawberry is great! They cost a bit I know that much. I truly hope they up their game on the food tho.
Oldiesmann
I'm looking forward to being able to get vanilla Coke, and am also curious as to what raspberry Coke would taste like.

According to Bryan Edwards at a Cedar Point winter event in December, Cedar Fair's soda company contracts are up for renewal in 2012. He hinted Coke and Pepsi would be sending "gifts" to try to entice CF to enter a contract with them. I'd bet the price KI and CF would pay for the Coke Freestyle machines, if your estimates are correct, are a fraction of those prices, if that. I don't know about Raspberry Coke, but I have made Cranberry Coke out of Cranberry juice..and well...Coke...and it was quite good! Next time I'm at work I'll try and put some raspberry stuff in it. lebeau
I'm looking forward to being able to get vanilla Coke, and am also curious as to what raspberry Coke would taste like. I had one at the LaRosa's in Newport. It was... interesting. It's the same raspberry flavor you would get in a raspberry iced tea only in a Coke instead. It was okay, but I wouldn't order it again. BTW, the Freestyle machine at LaRosa's is not self-serve.
TombRaiderFTW
Something I thought was cool: the @KingsIslandPR Twitter just updated its photo a new 40th anniversary KI logo. I love it! EDIT: So has KI's Facebook.
bkroz
Remember that Pressler and Harris were entirely content with letting Disneyland's 50th Anniversary slip by with nothing but a special parade and a few decorations. It was Ouimet who came in and changed it into the enormous marketing campaign that it became, plussing every old ride in the process and making the 50th Anniversary a year long extravaganza of publicity and improvement! CoastersRZ
I'm really liking that 40th anniversary logo. I wonder if they will be selling merchandise with that logo this season. I'd be tempted to buy somethings if they are.

standbyme
I like the logo too! (And I will like it even more if it ends up on a nice full-size retail map of the park!)
TOPGUN1993
Your right it has been 10 years since the last poster map.
PKIDelirium
I've got a drawer full of the 2002 30th Anniversary poster maps. When CF took over and discounted the hell out of all the Paramount merchandise, they dragged a ton of them out of some warehouse and sold them for a buck apiece. kjkjkj
You all overpaid! I went in there right towards the end of the night, and told them all I wanted was one of the 30th anniversary maps, and they said "If that's all you want then just take one and leave. You can have it for free" I was so excited haha. I was fully prepared to wait in the HUGE line to pay for one, and I got it for free! Oldiesmann
Apparently Brandt-Connector Drive now has a new name: The access road to the parking lot that once was named Brandt-Connector is officially now Soak City Drive. Thanks go to the City of Mason.
CoastersRZ
Interesting. The only time that road is used is for the Metro Park `N` Ride, and days when the park is near capacity and they are using the Deep South parking lot.
kingsrattler
^ Unless they plan on changing that.
medford
^ Unless they plan on changing that. there has been some work done on the parking lot. It looks pretty minor, perhaps some sort of fencing or posts seperating the gold parking from other parking. Its hard to tell for sure as I wiz by on 71, so it may be unnoticable come April, but they've definently done "something" with the parking lot this offseason.
Oldiesmann
It is possible they've done more in that area, as the former ball field that used to be next to that part of the lot is now part of Soak City.
DreamerOnTheEdge
PizzaBaby027 which is me was blocked for posting assumptions of Action Zone remolding. Redesign, remodel, the fate of SOB. I talked all about it and was blocked, who was right!!! I was!!. name='KIfan73' timestamp='1330307460' post='453478'] Freestyle Coke machines...the painting of Invertigo...new magic show...new focus on food items...all the clues are pointing to an remodel/expansion of Action Zone. Edit: I'm sorry. I admit, I really have no idea what I'm talking about. I was a seasonal food employee and don't really have any inside information.
bkroz
So around here, users can be blocked, then return with two, three, four, infinite different user names freely? I'll be the first to say I don't like this or think it's conducive to a very bright atmosphere here... Secondly, Rivertown was entirely remodeled. Then Planet Snoopy. Then Coney Mall. Action Zone is literally the last sizable themed area in the park, so it's quite obvious to most everyone here that it would soon receive the repainting / repaving work that the rest of the park got just to maintain the infrastructure that is now "the norm." You divined nothing. And worse, the guesses you did make were paired with outlandish Son of Beast fodder that circulates well on the park's Facebook, but has no place here. The reason you were banned - if I were to venture a guess - is because you're an outrageously loud know-it-all who is no more informed than the least informed of us here. Pizzababy, Dreamer, or whatever the third one is... You really submit no more positive, constructive conversation here than the worst of the Facebook users spouting things they heard from friends of friends and pretending that being a seasonal, minimum wage employee at an establishment affords you inside information on the inner workings and multi-million dollar decisions. For example, if I work at Taco Bell, no one comes down from the home office to personally give me tidbits of information, giving me insight into tens of millions of dollars of financial information and telling me everything that the Taco Bell corporation has planned for the next five years. Even if they did, how long ago was your tenure at the park? Because there's a new head honcho in town, so even if you did overhear something from an actually credible source (read, not another seasonal employee working a food stand), then there's every chance in the world that the plan has changed. You contribute so little here, and you seem intent on sticking around despite official removals just so that you can continue to cause unease and discomfort. Is it not obvious enough that your current style of communication has won you no victories and earned you no friends? So why continue...?
CedarPointer
There are seasonal employees who do find out bits of information before the general public. They also wouldn't go posting that on KIC for fear of losing their jobs.
bkroz
What's that we say around here? "Those who know do not say, and those who say do not know"?
TTD-120-420
Ah, but that is not always true. I remember in 2006-07 everyone knew Maverick's details and layout before the announcement. Even last year we all knew about WindSeeker. Stuff does come out.
