Browntggrr Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Luminosity, Powered by Pepsi will take the stage with a grand opening on June 8 and is designed to capture imaginations of all ages. It is the perfect way for families to continue celebrating their time together after an action-packed day. There will be an assortment of more than two dozen dancers, singers, drummers and other performers which will accompany guests on an adventure sure to stimulate their senses. The show culminates in an explosion of fireworks and pyrotechnics that will light up the sky. http://www.cedarfair.com/ir/press_releases/index.cfm Quote
The Interpreter Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 ...all ages... ...families.... What had become the virtually exclusively thrill seeker park is gradually broadening its focus. The nickel king is well and truly gone. See also: Dinosaurs Alive. 1 Quote

IndyGuy4KI Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Here is the animation for the stage and layout! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=qLyyRuzoHZk Quote
LongliveKingsCobra Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Looks very...Disneyesque...? I wonder how long or if it'll even end up looking like that xP Quote
PREMiERdrum Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Looks very...Disneyesque...? I wonder how long or if it'll even end up looking like that xP Considering it's a short walk from Mr. Ouimet's office, I'd venture to guess it will. Quote
TombRaiderFTW Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 I'm very interested to see how this works out. My initial reaction is that this is a very unique way of appealing to the same teen market that the late ads under Kinzel (like Ride Warriors, etc.) were aimed towards. Considering Ouimet's aim for experiences the whole family can enjoy, I'm curious to see if it's got as much of a "club" feel as the animation suggests. Quote
Dalefan Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 People on facebook are already crying about this. And they haven't seen much of it yet. Quote
The Interpreter Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 So it's moving them to tears? Excellent! 1 Quote
gigacoaster2k Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 If you guys thought WindSeeker's light program was cool, check out Giant Wheel. 3 Quote
Browntggrr Posted April 26, 2012 Author Posted April 26, 2012 GREAT VIDEO! Is it safe to assume GW will be part of Luminosity? Quote
jcgoble3 Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Awesome lights! Too bad I have no trips to CP planned for this year. Quote
PhantomTheater Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 I don't like it, I was a fan of the old flower patern. It had a sense of nostalgia and linked it back to when it dominated the Million Dollar Midway. Quote
XGatorHead 8904 Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Wow, Giant Wheel looks great! I was impressed with WindSeeker last year, but this is better! Quote
gigacoaster2k Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Millennium Force and Power Tower are to get similar light programs as well. All 3 rides will be part of Luminosity. Quote
Gordon Bombay Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Did they use RCT3 to make the concept video? 1 Quote
Shman Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 I wonder if they spent the money to give both sides of the wheel this lighting package or if they only installed it on the park side. Quote
Captain Nemo Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 I like it, though I wish I did not know it was part of the new night show... I like being surprised by these things. Quote
coasterfanatic83 Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Giant Wheel next to WindSeeker? This part of the park is gonna look nice (minus the warehouse on the beach) Quote
TTD-120-420 Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Which hopefully will be gone next year. Quote
