BoddaH1994
I'm willing to go as far as saying that Outer Hanks is the glue that holds the park together. We are blessed to have it.
Jr for Birdy
I pictured a group of guys sitting on the backdeck of Hanks giving a toast when I read your post. Cheers!

I right there with you Ryan. It's one of my favorite spots in the park. Can't beat eating a burrito while feeding fish.
JAHill
I'd pick Hank's over Chipotle any day.
Guest Department47
Nothing like getting a delicious burrito at arguably the best restaurant location in the park. That building is as old as the park - so much history inside of it.
Jr for Birdy
Im sure they had burritos in mind when they built it....ummm?
Hendrick
I've always liked Outer Hanks. One of my favorite places.
Creed Bratton
I've only visited Hanks a couple of times. I've had a bite of the food, it was good. The main thing I like about Hanks is the atmosphere it does give. There is nothing like sitting on the "deck," having a bite to eat, feeding the fish and just relaxing. The atmosphere is great. I personally think it's a hidden jewel for the park.
Burgtoad67
If I had to pick one place in the park to eat on opening day 2013, i'm definitely getting a burrito from hanks and kickin it next to the pond. See you guys there!
Guest rcfreak339
I always make sure I stop in and have a nice big chicken burrito. That restaurant is the best thing to happen to Kings Island since Skyline Chili. Make sure you ask for extra sour cream, you won't be disappointed!
DropZone99
I have to agree with everyone else, Outer Hanks is PHENOMENAL! I really think they need to open stand-alone restaurants outside of Kings Island! The burritos are just the best out there.

I will take everyones word on how Great Hanks is(Is there a Hank or just a gimmick?). I guess my German blood would much rather see something like a Schmidts Sausage Haus where I can get a Bahama Mama and a cream puff! I buy a freestyle Coke all the time from Hanks and I just dont see the food looking all that great but maybe I will give it a shot since everyone likes it? I do enjoy Skyline also, but its not the king of Cincinnati Chili.
BEASTIEGAL1993
I haven't posted in a while, but we should have a KIC meet-up there on opening day this year!
The Interpreter
Outer Hanks, a name from Carowinds, is a play on Outer Banks, a popular shoreline destination.

Vortex
When Outer Hanks had a Germany theme it was closed a lot before it became bubba gumps.
IndyGuy4KI
I agree that it might be time to reconsider a new name unless an investment is going to be made to bring back the German theme for that area of the park. Thinking about it from the parks perspective. Think of a family coming into the park for the day and try to see how having a German named area that does not really have a lot of German theming any longer has affected their enjoyment of the park for the day. I can't think of a day anyone in my family that was upset because of this fact. Sure it would be cool to see a face lift of the German theme in that area, but on the business side, I don't see where the ROI would be justified. Jr for Birdy
I just dont think KI has a 'go-to' spot to eat. When I go to other places I usually have a spot where I gotta eat, like CP brought in Pinks, now I have to eat there atleast once a visit, sometimes twice!
Hendrick
I now wish I was at Outer Hanks.
Aaron88stang
I tried a burrito there last year and it was pretty good. I am fine with Hanks keeping its current theme but please KI, do something about the Festhaus...I would love to enjoy some German food and entertainment in there. Maybe even make it a nice sit down restaurant or buffet. There is so much potential there...

XGatorHead 8904
Hank's Burrito Shack is one of the two reasons (the other being FunPerks) that my in-park spending increased last year. The way I described it after having it for the first time last year was "It's just a notch below Chipotle in taste, and just a notch above Chipotle in price." The only reason I say a notch below in taste is because Hank's doesn't have the corn salsa that I like at Chipotle, but the price was just right to keep me in the park and not going out to the new Chipotle down the street on Kings Island Dr.
Snowman
I just dont think KI has a 'go-to' spot to eat. When I go to other places I usually have a spot where I gotta eat, like CP brought in Pinks, now I have to eat there atleast once a visit, sometimes twice! I guess it's all about perspective. I've had the pleasure of eating at the original Pink's in LA, and was very excited that one was going in at CP. Trust me, it's NOTHING like the original. The CP dogs a comparatively tiny, skimpy on toppings, and much lower quality than what you get at the original in LA. With that in mind, I can't eat there again, but if I hadn't eaten at the original, I'd probably really like it. I never ate at Hanks when they served German food, but it's our go to place now. Probably the main reason I hit four funperks stars.
Captain Nemo
I have heard a lot of park guests talk about Outer Hanks as their favorite food joint in the park. I'd love to see a photo of it in the wintertime! I wonder how it looks right now!
BB1
This is my idea on a new German themed restaurant. Name: Ein Hauch von Deutschland (A taste of Germany) or Deutsch Königs Grotte (German King's Grotto) Description: Take a step into the heartland of Germany. With fine tastes of the Rhine and other fine places of cuisine! Themed as a German brewery, in a mountain like setting, with pines native to the German regions. A polka band plays on the back porch which now has a more german feel than last year. It is the Germany over the Rhine! Food: Pretzels, hot dogs, bratwurst, black forest cake, and other fine cuisine of Germany. Again this is just an idea, more of a deeper thought may be posted in the upcoming summer.

OldieButGoodie
I agree with the posts on the burrito quality - they're very tasty at Outer Hanks. Perhaps a bit pricier than Chipotle but when you consider they don't (didn't at least, when I last went) charge for Guac, it's a deal. Made fresh to order, which is *always* a winner with me. That said, when I went the build time was sooooooo slow! There's no reason it should take more than about 3 minutes to get you from order to eating, and that really goes for anyplace in the park. With that target, even long lines would be no problem., and having worked a bit of fast food in my day I know it can be done. Still - fresh to order is huge! I also love the ideas for the Festhaus - but they probably warrant a separate thread to get the right folks' attention!
benred23
I Always like what Cedar Fair did when they renamed it Outer Hanks. Kinda like blowing a raspberry to Paramount. Everyone knows Tom "HANKS" was the star of Forrest Gump which the Bubba Gump shrimp company was named after. So they changed the name Because Hanks was Out? get it? Outer Hanks.......No....(Crickets Chirping)....G'nite everyone..
