I know that this has been mentioned before but there are at least 5 or so and most of them are for a single support, not multiple ones like the 2014 construction is showing. Curious.... That is one of many reasons Gatekeeper is such a brilliant addition for 2013. No, I won't be explaining that. I will note it had some of the shortest lines in the park last night, admittedly a small sample size. Just to hit on this point real quick- I visited Cedar Point last Sunday (6/2)- it was the slowest day I've seen at the park. Several coasters were down early on (due to high winds?)- including Gatekeeper, TTD, Raptor. Once Gatekeeper opened (around 10-11am), the line quickly filled out to the plaza (but not all queues were open). We waited in line for about an hour before riding. Later on in the day, 4-5pm, the line was 10-15 minutes long. Gatekeeper is brillant- its FUN, but not necessarily thrilling. There are quite a bit of forces, but the ride is smooth and has a GREAT view. My point is that in the Cedar Fair Era, there has only really been one Thrilling ride and that is Diamondback. So if they can make a strong, forceful move to get a coaster that can be the next BIG thing, it would mean great revenue for the park. Looking for patterns could be an exercise in futility. If you saw their infamous box track (a la Millennium Force), then perhaps it isn't for a hyper/giga but rather for a different type? Then again, Intamin tries new stuff all the time it seems, though they lack consistency. I also hear that Intamin's new 4 across trains on Skyrush aren't exactly the best, though that might have more to do with Skyrush's layout than the train designs, plus Hershey has had maintenance issues with them as well. TheBEASTunchained Posted June 8, 2013 Share Posted June 8, 2013 After being at the park yesterday, and seeing the construction area from many different perspectives, I can that this is my opinion of part of the layout, The roller coaster will dip into the valley of the area of the first drop and lift hill of SOB. There were footers being installed on top of the hill which leads me to believe that the coaster will continue down the hill in some manner and proceed into the "valley".... Based on the reviews from people I know the thinner (like myself) people have had problems with the restraints, mainly it grabbing at my shoulders and proceeding to make it difficult to breathe air into my lungs.
