KICentral Day Group Photo in International Restaurant

Featured Replies

Quit rubbing it in, I just yesterday learned that I could go today, sadly it was too late. I hope you all had fun today, and I look forward to any other official KIC day(s) in this season or the future.

I'm so mad I wasn't able to go.... Oh well, there's always next time.

What a great picture! Sorry that I could not make it but I was in the "dog house" as usual at work!

I like Beastie's hat. :)

Can anyone do a left-right breakdown of who the people in that picture are?

Was Big Sexy there. That's all I want to know. Did you guys have Fast Lane passes?

Let's have a KIC day... At Busch Gardens Virginia. :)

That was last week.

Sorry you missed it! :P

Does KIC ever do anything on a Sunday?

I have a snowball's chance in hell of ever getting a Saturday off... :-(

This was a fantastic event, and we had perfect weather with (mostly) light crowds to go along with it!

A huge thanks to:

  • Ed Alonzo for making time for us in his incredibly busy schedule
  • Ryan for setting this all up
  • Don and the rest of the KI staff for making it happen
  • Devan (thedevariouseffect) for coordinating the group ride on The Beast

No.

I don't see anyone fitting big sexy's description.

I'm suddenly plotting a KI trip tonight for a funnel cake with vanilla-chocolate swirl on top ( not in a blue mood!). It is Fathers Day after all, Hmm? Sometimes something as little as a funnel cake can change everything!

It was a lot of fun! We'll have to do it again sometime.

Man, those lanyards you guys have sure look awesome.

it was really nice of Comp USA to sponsor the event.

Definitely one of the more memorable days I've had at Kings Island. I really enjoyed all of the events, but I think the best part was meeting so many cool new people. I'm definitely looking forward to the next event, whenever that may be.

Also, has Don posted our Beast picture anywhere?

I thought the picture you posted Friday on Facebook was a joke. You deserve a beating for this. :P

Not that I've seen. I've checked both Facebook and Twitter.

Too many things going on this weekend and couldn't commit to coming to this event. Looks like everyone had a good time. Can't believe it's been almost five years since I attended the Diamondback construction tour KIC event!

Beast ride photo was given to Buddah.

The abomination in question: :)

......That actually looks worse than hotsauce in Skyline crackers.....

I'm going to have to give the photo to Dane or Ronny to brighten it up a little bit. Don did a great job with the photo, but sometimes a little "after work" is required for shots from that time of the evening.

As I stated on the Facebook/Twitter, I talked to Ed Alonzo today and he said he had a great time doing the Q & A with us. He's such a nice guy. I really want to do more stuff with him to promote his show within KIC.

As many of you know by now, our events are a little different than the events offered by ACE or GOCC. We our demographic is relatively local to Kings Island, so as opposed to making the events ERT-heavy, we make the events as unique as possible. Almost everyone on this site has ridden Diamondback before, so even if you got hours and hours of ERT, it really wouldn't be that special. On the other hand, how many people can say they got to have a private Alonzo meet and greet, see a LIM in person, watch the fireworks from the IR, etc? Not too many.

Before the Alonzo show, Don said that I told him I didn't want to do the event if we couldn't get Alonzo. Many laughed, but it was actually a true story. He approached me about having an event. I was kind of on the fence. These things are a lot of work and I don't have the time on my hands that I used to have. If I'm going to do an event, it's going to be one that people would remember and I knew that the Alonzo Q&A would be a hidden gem... and boy was I right.

A lot of people have tried to thank me for the event, but the truth is I did less than 1% of the work. I essentially pitched the ideas of what we wanted to do and all of the work was done on the back end. Several dozen people were involved in preparing for the event and countless others were there to execute it. I would highly encourage that, next time you're at the park, stop by Guest Services and recognize someone from the park that helped make the day so special. It wouldn't be hard to think of 10, let alone one.

Just out of curiosity BoddaH1994, are there any other Official Kings Island Central events in the mist for possibly a Haunt season meet up?

(My Boomerang Bay senses are telling me somebody knows, but probably confidential....)

Yes.

Yes.

In all honesty, that has been the best news I have heard all day. Thanks so much for the information, and I will try to make sure to get to that event!
