Kat Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 A MCBR can STOP a train if need be. Trim brakes normally cannot. Mantis rather famously got trim brakes installed on its first drop after it opened. Thanks for clarifying. I had never heard of trim brakes before now. 3
homestar92 Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 I don't mind uphill trims on airtime coasters, as they help to emphasize the airtime. But it's not looking like Airtime will be Banshee's big sell like it was with Diamondback, so hopefully, no trims. 3
Kat Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 I personally don't see how they could do trim brakes and have the ride reach its max speed in the second half of its duration, but that's just my opinion 1
TTD-120-420 Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Because it may be designed to reach that top speed with a trim in place. But I'll take your engineering experience and say you are right... 1
HTCO Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Trim brake or no trim brake, this ride is going to be awesome. Lets say it has one. Do you think we are really gonna notice it that much? I for one don't think we will see one but you know. I've been wrong before. 7

Tanna Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 I wish to experience this speeding up on the second half of the ride- what a design wonder. For a few days before the ride was announced, I found myself missing The Bat due to the sight gags put up by PR. I'm really glad we're going to have that "looking down at the trees" phenomena that I had with The Bat. I wasn't expecting it's position in the park to be so visible from from AZ, I thought it would be more off into the woods, like The Beast. I honestly can't wait. I'll have to make due with an office chair on the roads of West Middletown. 5
YoungStud Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Welcome back HTCO. Unless the gigantic batwing with the huge radii scrubs off alot of speed there is no way b&m will allow it to fly through that element at max speed. 5

BB1 Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 We now have Banshee T-shirts! BB1, possibly the first to get one on KIC?
jcgoble3 Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Yeah, people were packed into On Location like sardines after the announcement to buy them. I foolishly fought that crowd to buy mine. ohiocolts made the smarter move and waited for the store to empty out before going in and getting his. 9
xXDrummerKiDXx Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Will they be selling t-shirts for the rest of the season? Also, can someone post a pic of the shirt? 1
CoasterFreak45 Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 My dad was lucky and was hit in the head with the shirts they were throwing out. It literally fell right into his arms, lol. 13
silver2005 Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Before we get all caught up in the 'what's-left-out-of-the-renderings' arguments, I would just like to say this- I just re-watched Diamondback's renderings and Beast is missing from them. Its not like they haven't left out rides before. 5
UnrealNightmare Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 I got mine on Thursday for 18 bucks. I posted a pic in another thread of it. 1
upstop Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 What are the prices of the shirts? $15.99 and $16.99. 1
SupremoSteveo Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 What are the prices of the shirts? $15.99 and $16.99. That's a lot cheaper than I expected. I can't wait to get one!
XjoshhyX Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 The shirt I got was $17.99, it was the black one. I noticed that the gray ones were the cheapest and the colors were $17.99. I was really hoping for Hoodies though.
Adventuro Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 I could be remembering this wrong, but didnt KI say that there we no trim brakes throughout the ride. Which speaking of that, how does that work? I'm assuming one train is in the station, while one is on the lift, and the third is waiting behind?
calakapepe Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 I don't remember them saying such a thing, but going off how there aren't any trims in the animation and Diamondback had a trim in the animation that held true to the final construction, I'm going to assume there is no trim! Behemoth also held true to the animation. Though, one CAN be added after opening or after testing. -- Is this going to be the first B&M invert without a wingover element? Cause that could be a world record to be prou--.. to have. EDIT: http://rcdb.com/9675.htm?p=37746 OzIris appears to be the only other one not to have one.
Adventuro Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Question. Is Oziris pronounced "Oz- iris" or "oh sigh rus"
DiamondBackGirl Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 We now have Banshee T-shirts! BB1, possibly the first to get one on KIC? nahh I beat you to it! got mine right after the announcement! 1
MrSaturdayNite Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 @Adventuro: I would assume it's pronounced "oh-sigh-rus." Given the theme of the ride, I think Oziris is either an intentional misspelling or a French translation of Osiris, Egyptian god of the dead. 1

Behemoth also held true to the animation. Though, one CAN be added after opening or after testing. Behemoth only uses one of the trims sometimes during the day (during the night, its usually trimless).

Never ridden it though, was just going off of the animation and whether it had them.
thomasws6 Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Just curious, is Banshee the only inverted to have its lift go through an inversion?

Now I'm considering the opposite.
silver2005 Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Just curious, is Banshee the only inverted to have its lift go through an inversion? No, Battlestar Galacitca (in Universal Studios Singapore) has the lifts go through the loop from the inverted coaster's side.
