We did not mention all the statistics during the announcement because statistics are not what make a roller coaster great; it's the ride experience it delivers that makes it great.

  • It's good to see me, isn't it? No need to respond! That was rhetorical. Under 30 days until Banshee makes its public debut! We can't wait for you to come out and experience this ride.

We have guests that are more excited about our live shows than our roller coasters, that visit the park specifically for the shows. For these guests, the Cirque Imagine announcement was as exciting as

Construction has really slowed down lately. It seems like the workers were in a big rush to get the lift hill done, but now they're just taking their time.

I would bet that the steel erection is a very small part of actually building the coaster. You have ground work, electrical, plumping, planning, and testing to do. Most of which can't been seen by a low res webcam.

Didn't Diamondback parking replace Son of Beast parking? I know WindSeeker parking replaced Gold Pass parking!

I feel The Beast replace Son of Beast Parking, because it is over next to Drop Tower, where Son of Beast probably would've been.

Nope The Beast parking is in the North Parking lot and has always been in the North Parking lot every since they renamed the rows after rides!

Completely off topic. But do you think Banshee will have a section in the parking lot with a sign just like all the attractions?

Is there still a S.O.B. parking section? If so, I imagine that will become Banshee.

As a couple others mentioned, the former Son of Beast parking section became Diamondback. While it was still Son of Beast though, the logos on the sign included the loop for several years after the actual loop was removed.

If memory serves me right, the current parking lot sections are WindSeeker (former Gold Pass), Beast, Diamondback, Vortex, Adventure Express, Invertigo, Flight Deck, and possibly Drop Tower (not entirely sure on that one). In addition to Preferred Parking, Bus / RV Parking, and Employee Parking.

We will really talk about anything! I think that they'll probably just keep it as is for financial reasons.

Early morning moving of track and supports? Track and supports being unloaded? Can't really tell due to all the lights.....And the fact that it's 6:40 in the morning! :P

But something is going on at the Banshee construction site....and back by the old trams (area)...

What's up with Drop Tower? It went up and hasn't come Down for 5 mins now.

Edit: never mind it's back now! :P

... and thats why they turn off the webcams when they are testing new coasters. so people don't freak out when they are testing fail safe measures ;)

Lol...I miss testing rides...fun stuff...Only time I had an uh oh for block checks was on maggie...waiting for that train to come back on first dispatch of a very cold day and had rained that morning...it's like...where is it, is it there, comooooonn...

Then you see it, yay! Or nay if you didn't wanna work :P

It's becoming evident that there's not going to be a lot of additional track and support erection until after the season ends. It's unfortunate that we probably won't see much else going vertical while the park is still open, but construction is really going to fly once the park is closed. It wouldn't surprise me if vertical construction is done by the end of the year.

Why do you think that? Today is only Tuesday! The lift hill is one of the most complicated sections of the ride. It take a lot longer to put together than other sections of the ride. The park is open another two weekends. They were working last Friday well past 5pm and could be heard hammering on something until close to 7pm.

That's really where I was going with my initial comment. From what I've seen they still need to (at the very least) put up the railings on both sides of the catwalk and install the metal mesh that runs up and down the length of the lift to keep objects from falling to the ground.

They've only installed three (very small) supports in the last ten days, supports that were really easy to put in with smaller equipment. Those smaller supports are not near paths accessible to the public like where the dive loop will be. Of course, the other possible explanation may be that they are going to use the larger crane to put up the dive loop and traditional loop and the crane simply can't be in two places at once.

At the end of the day it doesn't really matter if more track goes vertical tomorrow or in January. It would have been nice to have been granted a more definitive first-hand glimpse on what the first few elements will look like this season but that's becoming a less likely proposition. C'est la vie!

Looks like they put another support up coming out of the first drop.

You must be the lucky charm that brings us more construction because more support went up. Say more stuff won't happen. Tell us the loop won't be up tomorrow! :D

Work has begun on building the station for Banshee.

I can't wait to see how small the first loop is going to be.

BeastForever, who prefers drawn out inversions particularly on inverts as opposed to blacking out on every inversion.

looks like they've got the next set of supports up, heading into the dive loop.

I love when physically evident construction days like today happen.:)
