fryoj Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 It appears that a bird or maybe a bug has decided to interfere with our construction stalking.
upstop Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Someone shake it off.....LOL.... It looks like some shadow creature is eating Delirium.
RailRider Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Looks like a campy horror movie with the giant bug on top of the Eiffel Tower. But looking at the completed 2nd lift support, that tower is huge. There is still a 3rd tower to go in that will be even higher. This is going to have a much greater impact on the skyline than I originally imagined. 4
upstop Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Attack of the Praying Mantis.....AHHHHHHH! edit: Judging by the angle of ascent, this ride is going to dive right to the ground!..... Woo Hoo!!! can't wait to ride this one! I also think this invert will slam to an upright position at the end....just by virtue of the speed through the valley. 1
RailRider Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Now that this middle lift hill support is up, I am starting to realize the size of the vertical loop. It is going to be huge. 4
thedevariouseffect Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Webcams dont work on .mil networks...someone post pics please!! 1
THE_BEASTmaster Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 In order to build the loop around the lift , do you think they'll build the bottom half of the vertical loop first? Then attach the lift hill track, and followed up by topping off the loop?
upstop Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 http://flic.kr/p/fZqJEv Banshee progress by upstop2, on Flickr
HTCO Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Seems like they are taking that rather large lift hill track by the transfer, and hooking it up to Clifford. 2

silver2005 Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Just out of curiosity as I'm trying to eyeball how this will look, how tall is the Sling Shot structure?
thedevariouseffect Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 It's very tall Not the answer you were looking for? 1
Shawn Meyer Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 They have topped off the next support and it is really high! It also looks like a pigeon poo'd on the camera. Makes me wonder if Banshee will look like Raptor after the first year. You know how the first loop looks? On the top it's full of bird poo.
coasterfanatic83 Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Kings Island doesn't have as many birds as Cedar Point does, so I doubt it will be as bad as Raptor. 7
ZeroGee Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Just out of curiosity as I'm trying to eyeball how this will look, how tall is the Sling Shot structure? I'm not sure on the height of the structure but I believe the ball itself can travel as high as 230'
Dom497 Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 It looks like some shadow creature is eating Delirium. I'm surprised no one said it was Banshee. 3
Tanna Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Yes. Bees. That man I married has a printout of the Banshee layout at work, so he can see what's going up on the webcam. He's responsible for tracking the ././Deadly Ra---don!././ that comes into your home. Think of that next time you spend hours alone and sulking in your Ohio basements.
Spectrum91 Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Just out of curiosity as I'm trying to eyeball how this will look, how tall is the Sling Shot structure?I'm not sure on the height of the structure but I believe the ball itself can travel as high as 230' I believe it goes to ~260 feet, depending on weight of the ball.
LongTimeLurker Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 First time trying to post a pic, let's see if it works. From Greg Scheid's twitter 13
Shawn Meyer Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Why does it look like the next track piece they install is going to go through the A frame of that support?
HTCO Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Why does it look like the next track piece they install is going to go through the A frame of that support? I was thinking the same exact thing... EDIT: Seems like an optical illusion. I drew a line from the base of the "first" lift hill track piece, lined it up, and kept going with it and this is the result: Looks like B&M actually knows what they are doing. 6
RollerColt Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Thanks HTCO, that was bugging the heck out of me all day!
KHFan29 Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 I'm going to the park when it's open for the toyota people, so I'll to get some photos if I can.
TTD-120-420 Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 I saw the area for the first time tonight. The ride is going to look amazing. 10

The poop on Raptor has become part of the paint scheme, but it's bizarre that it only happens to that ride. Perhaps its the shade of green... 1

I don't care if I quoted a post directly above. It's short enough to not be a nuisance.
tuxedoman52 Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 The structure of slingshot is 260' but the ball travels higher than that so somewhere between 280 and 290
calakapepe Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 Sorry, are you trying to answer someone?
