KI Guy
I think that there is at last a favorable chance that 2015 will be your year PKIVortex! I can see it now, the triumphant return of Shake Rattle and Roll, maybe with a new name and lights, along with (probably new) Flying Eagles, maybe even a classic like a Tilt-a-Whirl or Der Spinning Keggers. Valleyfair, Cedar Point and Knott's have done similar things.

noob_rider
Just wanted to throw this out there, Don started Following Premire Rides yesterday which have Flying Aces on their web site. I tried to click link and it would not let me.(I know we have rides from them already, just found it odd that he just started following them yesterday)
rcwizard13
I really hope our 2015 addition is more similar to VF's 2014 addition versus CP's or KBF's. You all may desperately want your Eagles back, but there is not a single removed attraction that my family of five misses more the the Antiques. I'd like to see them make a grand return in 2015 after a decade of absence. As far as location is concerned I think a good area is the back side of the tower between Backlot, Diamondback, and the carousel, with the entrance facing the front of the park and coming off of I-Street.
Guest dtk1376
I used to love the antique cars as well, just don't see them coming back though with gas prices the way they are. If they are able to find a way to make them run electronically, then maybe, but it wouldn't be the same.
medford
electronic cars may not be the same to you, but they'd be every bit as enjoyable to the 6-12 year olds of today that would be chauffeuring their parents around the coarse. As far as location, my vote would be to get rid of Snoopy Junction (even on busy evenings I often see empty trains leaving) and extend the track back towards picnic groove. It would win thru the trees, you could create some interaction with the walking path back there, perhaps even use it an an excuse to spruce up picnic groove (I've never personally been back there, so I don't know if it needs any sprucing or not). The 3 rides behind Surf Dog are seemingly ignored by many in Planet Snoopy. They're kind of hidden back there, and while Snoopy Junction and Peanuts Offroad Adventure are largely forgettable, Linus' Beetlebugs are a joy to watch. It would be nice to have something to attract parents back to that area (all 3 are rideable by children under 36" which appeals to our 2 year old) they could probably even re-use Snoopy Junction's station, though finding room for a que could prove difficult.
shark6495
Maybe you and I go on different days but Snoopy's Junction is always a 20 minute wait with the line spilling out towards the little Whip ride during the hours of about 10-2. The Peanuts Offroad may not seem thrilling but many many kids under 36 ride that ride. If you were to remove those two rides you mentioned, that would leave the little one crowd with 2 rides they could ride. The longer car ride and Boo Blasters. If this were to happen (the removal of those rides back there), I would have 0 reason to buy a pass for at least another year or so.

KI Guy
Mr. Ouimet has spoken about rides that all family members will enjoy together. I think that an antique cars if added, would be outside of the kid's area based of his words. Once you put something in a kid's area it is usually thought of as a kid's ride. If they add 'tiques and flying eagles the interesting trend of undoing Paramount's mistakes continues. Should Back Lot be worried, haha? Could we see some kind of KCKC replacement sometime in the future? I really like the direction the park is going overall.
LondonFreak
I wouldn't mind something a little Irish coming to KI....Leprechauns, trolls and witches....or an Irish pub ( I know... they would probably be serving chicken tenders and pizza with a good stout). They could do something like instead of a tea cups ride, pint glasses that say "Guinness."

If "they" means "Kings Island," then yeah, I totally agree. If "they" means "the amusement park industry," there are a few out there that have grown-up versions of that ride. The closest park to Kings Island that has one would likely be Camden Park, followed by Kennywood.

We're typically a middle of the week, 5:30 to 9:00 or 10:00 goes, so I'll readily admit its not prime time for certain areas, and maybe that is included. I agree with you on all fronts bout Peanuts Offroad, it may not be thrilling but our 2 year old enjoys it. Heck, our 6 year old still kind of enjoys it when we are back int that area, too bad he'll be too tall to get on it next season. At any rate, its a lesser version of the Peanuts 500 car ride (though perhaps better capacity, don't know). If they had to relocate it, to make my idea work, fine, but I wouldn't just get ride of it. Its small and could work in a lot of different areas if need be. I don't recall what, if any the height restrictions were on the 'tiques, but I envision that any child capable of sitting up on their own (ie able to ride Snoopy Junction) would be able to ride a new car version. Obviously they couldn't drive the car, but they could ride along, would probably be just as thrilling for them as Snoopy Junction would be. Snoopy Junction requires a responsible adult to ride with any kid below 40", so in either case a young rider would need somebody else with them on the ride (unlike Peantus 500, whip-it, etc...) You are also forgetting a handful of the other under 36" rides, Sally Sea Planes, the helicopter ride, carousels, and The Monster. That is 9 rides that I can think of, and if you trust the website, it doesn't list a height requirement for Joe Cool's Dodge 'Em School, just a maximum height. I'm not sure if I believe that, but I've always forgotten to check, either way I'm not ready to test my 2 year old daughter on it yet, maybe next season if there truly is no minimum height. however, if there was another area in the park that worked, I'm all for it, just seems like as they've rotated around the park, Planet Snoopy is due for some upgrades sometime in the next 2-3 seasons.

Not sure if you can really lump CP's together like that. They already have 3 attractions along those line with the Antique Cars, Cadillac Cars, and Turnpike Cars, so there was no need for them to put in a fourth. I would love to see us get something like them again though. I'd be fine with just a couple of new flats though as well.

That answers that. I must be one the crazy newbie parents who go early in the day. That little stretch is full of strollers. I thought you meant get rid of those rides. I'm all for moving them. My lil one is 15 months old and he loves Offrode, 500, and the Junction. He is too short for some of the others since we don't have anyone to ride with him on some of the others or don't feel comfortable putting him on the others just yet I miss the Tiques. medford
Your little one can be held on the Carousels, Boo Blasters may be too scary, but it never bothered our son at 2ish or our daughter last year when she was about 15 months. Monster may be too early, out Daughter rode it once last season and just buried her head into Mom the whole ride (then proceeded to cheer with excitement when it was done) so we waited for a second turn this season and she really enjoys it. She rode it 3 times one day. He's probably too young to ride the whip it alone, if he had someone sitting on the outside seat that he could lean into when it turned the corner, he'd be ok, but as an individual its probably the right call to hold back. Our Daughter has been on it by herself a couple of times this season (kind of made me nervous w/o her brother right next to her, but she supported herself well), so maybe next season for you. Sally's Sea Plane and the Whirlybirds, well lets just say you're probably better off not letting him know that either of those are an option. Sea Plane is always a short line, so not too bad, but the line for Whirlybirds is often long, moves slowly and those things get awfully stuffy on the inside. I'm forever thankful that the 6 year old never really requested that ride much, and wouldn't complain if the line was long and we said no on a handful of occasions. Enjoy the next few seasons, dont know if your son will grow into much next season, but by age 3, they should have most of the 36" stuff open to them, then every 4" is a KI milestone. You have no idea how fun a night ride on The Beast can be until your 5 year old looks over at you on the 2nd lift hill smiling and talking about how he couldn't even see his hand in front of his face, let alone his dad sitting next to him. Same can be said about all the rides. Enjoy!
shark6495
We do Boo Blasters together because it's a nice break from the heat. Sally's Seaplane owns a piece of my scalp..... The carousels we have ridden in seats that don't move. He cries when it goes up and down and around. You make me excited to look forward to future endeavors but at the same time I don't want to miss out on what we can do now! I'm thinking this weekend him and I will hit up the park for a big train ride Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Guest dtk1376
I would be against Off Road Rally and Beetlebugs being removed, they are both park originals. As for moving them, not sure where they could go, Planet Snoopy is pretty tight. I do like the idea of a bridge or something over the walk way to the picnic grove area.

Ki Man
Please something for the waterpark. Okay the 2nd wavepool was fine. But out Tornado looks AWFUL. I mean absolutely gross. Clean that up, please. We need something with better capacity. With record attendance at the park this year (assuming) the low capacity rides don't cut it. 2 tube slides, one family raft ride (the first one ever built), 1 proslide Tornado, 4 body slides, and the 5 enclosed body slides. Everything is from 1989 except for the 2004 Tornado and Mat Racers. Am I right on that? I get it, the Beach never adds to the park, so that means you don't have to add anything either. Please give us something else to do in the waterpark. I only visit every 3 years.
PKIVortex
Zoom Flume actually opened in 1990, and the Original Wave Pool along with one of the kiddie play areas opened in 1997. But your right most the water slides are from 1989.
purdude86
Yea we haven't had any real major waterslide additions in a long time. Mondo Monsoon was really the only slide addition as Rendezvous Run was more of a replacement. That's why I'd rather see a new slide tower/complex added soon in place of just a single water coaster. Would like to see a coaster like Wildebeest eventually but we need to improve capacity first for slides I think.
