I think it would be so cool looking at at that behemoth and being able to say "My name's on that." Even though it will never be seen by again, it's still pretty awesome.

It's a tradition in ironworking that certain milestone pieces are signed by everyone involved. They did the same thing to commemorate the completion of the gigantic lift hill. They also place certain items (in the U.S., typically an American flag and an evergreen tree) atop the structure.

I'm sure that Terp greatly appreciates the absence of one prominent name on that piece of track.

Wouldn't be the tribute to Max Cannon that was done on both of those signed milestone track segments, would it be?

Max Cannon was an incredible guy and is missed.

Wow, I'm sorry. I missed the "absence" part last night. Definitely concurred about the absence of Kinzel's insignia on Fury 325.

The station for Fury and the new entrance to the park are coming along nicely. Some of the work around Fury's dive below the path is starting to be built as well.

As mentioned above by silver2005, the station for Fury 325 and the new front entrance to Carowinds are definitely really coming along nicely!

Looks like work on the queue is coming along at a fast rate as well. Actually there are currently some men out working on the queue as this post is being typed!

I know it is really hard to get a true feel for the coaster just based on POVs but IMO this may be one of the best coasters on the planet when it is finally completed. The high/lows (Parts where you are really high then come all the way down to the ground) look fantastic. Just like Banshee I feel the sense of speed of this ride will be fantastic, especially before the turnaround. I am trying to pull back my expectations so I don't set myself up for disappointment but man this ride looks amazing.

Looks like the underground dive on Fury 325 will feature some honeycomb-like near misses!

Almost looks small until you notice the people standing in there. Very cool.

Considering the train will be probably be doing 65-70 mph at that point (just a guess), it'll make for a pretty intense high-speed near miss.

The queue rails for Fury 325 have arrived. Talk about attention to detail and light theming!

That is a nice touch! It really is the little things that take these projects up a notch.

Haven't been on the forum in months... any word on media day yet?

^ I haven't heard anything about a media day event yet, and I also haven't heard whether it will be one that coaster enthusiast clubs are invited to.....

I'm guessing an announcement about that sort of thing will be made toward the end of this month.

It's likely to be held on 3/25.

Cedar Fair certainly has been investing a LOT of money into Carowinds. I mean not only are they getting new front entrance buildings, they got a nice new parking toll plaza at the end of last season as well.

Maybe it helps that Cedar Fair has a satellite corporate office in Charlotte.

Does anyone actually know where in Charlotte the satellite (for now...) office is? Or is it on the park property somewhere?

Wow that is some really nice photos! They are working on the entrance pretty fast. I've been watching it every few days, but not as much as our new Woodstock Gliders ride!

If you want to know the origin of those hexagonal frames, go look at a current Charlotte Hornets logo.

The park has publicly stated that there is no direct relation between Fury 325 and the Charlotte Hornets basketball team. The hornet / honeycomb theme is, rather, indicative of the Charlotte area and that is where both team and ride get their identities.

Well, that or Metro station floor tiles.

I like how both Gatekeeper and Fury interact with the front gate, just in very different ways. Also, carrying through the hexagon shape and colors throughout the ride experience is nice. That is a great touch that I'm looking forward to seeing in person.
