September 25, 201312 yr Diamondback: Odd numbered row. Racer, Beast: front, or middle seat of back car. Racer: occasionally, back seat of first car or front seat of back car. Vortex: 5-1 or 1-1. Flight Deck: 1-1. Invertigo: either end. Flight of Fear: very front or very back. Surf Dog, Viking Fury outside seats to far ends. Firehawk: After my last Batwing experience, I may be getting too old for that thing. Woodstock Express: Front or back. Dodgem Cars: Inside a car. Skyline Chili: Covered Dining Area behind Coney Mall location.
September 27, 201312 yr Racer: any seat in the last car Flight Deck: first or last car Vortex: 1-1, 2-1, 7-1, 7-2, 6-1, 6-2, 2-2 (they're just my top picks; I'm absolutely fine with any row) Beast: in/near front or back Adventure Express: back seat, or usually in/around 1-3 Invertigo: either end (for me, it's the end of the train that faces toward Drop Tower when in the station) Firehawk: back row, outside seat Flight of Fear: in/near the front Diamondback: in/near the back
September 27, 201312 yr Diamondback: Either the very front or the very back. The Beast: Very front, again. I love seeing the track. The Racer: Back. Flight Deck: Front. The wind blowing into your eyes makes the ride so much more intense. Vortex: 5-1. Firehawk: Any outside seat. Can't really think of any other specifics.
September 27, 201312 yr Huh... I thought I already replied to this, but I guess I didn't. Invertigo: either end. I can't get into the awkward stare-off with the stranger across from me. Flight Deck: second row of the first car. You get the best experience on the ride (the first car) without the wait of the first row. Adventure Express: the last row of the last car. Racer: somewhere in the first car or somewhere in the last car. First car is better. Flight of Fear: the last car. I used to think it doesn't matter, but the last car really whips you through each element. Plus, there's no awkward hanging over the side of the car after the MCBR. Firehawk: the last car. There's slight hangtime at the top of the loop, and then you get squished against the seat through the rest of it. It's surprisingly forceful. Vortex: it's cliched on this site, but the fifth car is where it's at. I mean, with all due respect to VortexBFForever, I'd rather not be on it at all, but the fifth car is the best option if I'm riding it. Backlot Stunt Coaster: first car, for the unobstructed view. Beast: last car. Diamondback: last car. Flying Ace Aerial Chase: last car. The Great Pumpkin Coaster: the park says I'm not allowed to ride it anymore. Woodstock Express: the last row on Ghoster Coaster at Kings Dominion.
September 27, 201312 yr Front row on Diamondback, Beast (at night), Vortex, Dodgem, Drop Tower, Flight Deck, Delirium, Slingshot, Racers, and AE. The back on Flight of Fear. To me, there is just nothing better than the feeling of being pulled after the MCBR! Row 1 and outside seat on Firehawk. I guess the last row would work too, I just love seeing the many expressions on people's faces during the loop
September 28, 201312 yr Beast: Front left or back left, just as long as it looks like I'll be decapitated in the helix Diamondback: Back right - best airtime, and you can get wet on the splash! Racer: front right, red - view of Coney Mall at night Adventure Express: Back right - closer to the skeleton Flight of Fear: closer to the front the better Vortex: same as above Invertigo: front or back
October 5, 201312 yr I just want to say thanks to everyone who said to ride Vortex in 5-1. Best ride experience ever on Vortex. I also just realized that the ride was designed around that seat.
October 5, 201312 yr I don't know what the huge hype is on 51...I prefer 71 over 51 easily I'll have to give it a try next Saturday. My eleven years with a gold pass I've only ever ridden front seat, unless assigned some place else.
October 31, 201312 yr Invertigo: Either end of the train Congo Falls: Front and center Drop Tower: Facing the Banshee construction site by day and the park by night Xtreme Skyflyer: Doesn't matter Flight Deck: Front row Banshee: Probably front row, maybe back; will find out on media day Delirium: Doesn't matter Viking Fury: Back row, lake side Slingshot: Bier Garten Adventure Express: Back row The Racer: Front row, 3-1, or 5-2 Monster: Doesn't matter Scrambler: Doesn't matter Dodgem: Car 35 or 9 Zephyr: Smaller seats Flight of Fear: Front row Firehawk: Doesn't matter Vortex: 5-1 when I'm in the mood for it, park bench when I'm not WindSeeker: Outside seat Shake, Rattle, & Roll: Whichever arm starts spinning first, outside seat Backlot Stunt Coaster: Front row The Beast: Front or back row Kings Island & Miami Valley Railroad: As close to the front as I can get White Water Canyon: Doesn't matter Diamondback: Back row Race For Your Life, Charlie Brown: Front Flying Ace Aerial Chase: Back row Surf Dog: Back row, either side Woodstock Express: Back row Boo Blasters: Seat with a working gun Eiffel Tower elevator: Next to a window Grand Carousel: Horse that moves up and down That should cover everything in the dry side of the park outside of Planet Snoopy and select rides in Planet Snoopy. (edited to add three that I missed) On Shake, Rattle, & Roll, the yellow cars start first. They're also slightly faster. Next is the orange set, then the greenish ones. November 2, 201312 yr AE - 1-1 or 4-2 (exact middle) BLSC - no preference Beast - 1-1 or the middle row in any car Diamondback - 1-1 Flying Ace - no preference FoF - 1-1 or very last row Firehawk - no preference Flight Deck - no preference Woodstock - no preference Racer - same as Beast Vortex - 1-1, 5-1 or 7-1 Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 using Tapatalk 4
November 2, 201312 yr I love front seat on Diamondback. I don't care the side, it's the best seat in the park. Vortex, last car any seat. It's a little less painful on some of the turns. It's the only ride that gives me a headache. Beast and Racers - any middle row seat. AE back car. Invertigo any but the ends. This one makes me dizzy if I sit on the ends (but don't get me wrong, I will ride on the ends if being seated there,) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
November 2, 201312 yr Since you just got here, I need to point out that you must try 5-1 ( the front seat of the fifth car ) on Vortex. This is the seat Ron Toomer designed the ride around. It is far, far smoother than any other row on the ride. 1-1 is pretty incredible, too. Terp, really missing NJ's lost rides today, including Great American Scream Machine.
November 2, 201312 yr I'm mostly a front rider. I tried the back of DB one day during ERT and I now actually prefer that seat. I tried the back on FoF and it killed my neck.

I will try that one next season. I remember when Vortex was first built and it seemed so much smoother at that time. Perhaps it was not super smooth and I am just getting old(er). I know my daughter loves Vortex and it would be awesome to find a more ideal seat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
November 2, 201312 yr Invertigo - 2-2 Flight of Fear - 1-2 Diamondback - 15-2 Vortex - Wherever there are not "chunks" The Bat - Back Row
May 6, 201610 yr I prefer riding all the coasters at Kings Island front seat, well besides Vortex which I like to ride in the middle or the back.
May 7, 201610 yr Racer: Middle of a car. 1-3 if I remembered to pack Advil. The airtime is wonderful, but the pain is not... Beast: Back car, middle seat or 1-1. At night, definitely the former over the latter. Flight of Fear: back half of the train. BLSC: Any row, right side. Diamondback: Row 16, please AE: Every seat is fantabulous, but front if I have to pick. Vortex: I love each and every seat with a passion, but 1-1 or 5-1 are my favorites. Firehawk: A seat on Flight of Fear My, how a few short years can change the palate. Updated list as follows: Racer: 5-2, all day long. Blue side if it's running. Beast: 1-1 or 6-2. So this one hasn't changed. Flight of Fear: Whichever seat a female companion I've chosen to bring to the park with me wants to ride in, because I've found such occasions are the only times I'm willing to wait in line for it anymore. Drop Tower: See Flight of Fear description above. And the aforementioned female companion would have to REALLY want to ride it for me to get on this infernal machine. BLSC: Uhh, 2-1. Not sure why 2013 me had a preference for the right side... Diamondback: Row 16, still. But only if there's a very short wait. AE: Whichever has the shortest line and gets me on this wonderful ride the fastest Vortex: 7-1 or bust. I can begrudgingly ride 5-1 or 1-1 if I must, but all the way up the lift hill I'll be longing for 7-1 and its glorious airtime. Firehawk: Any seat, I like them all. I used to hate this ride and now it's one of my favorites. Fancy that. Bat: Until a couple weeks ago, I'd have said 1-1. But after a ride in 3-1, I think I have a new favorite. Great Pumpkin Coaster: I'm now qualified to say that the last row is the best one I've ridden in. Invertigo: That beautiful blue roadster in what is now The Beast section of the parking lot. Banshee: Row 1 or 8, right side.
May 7, 201610 yr So let's revisit my list as well: Invertigo: Either end of the train Congo Falls: Front and center Drop Tower: Facing the Banshee construction site by day and the park by night Xtreme Skyflyer: Doesn't matter Flight Deck: Front row Banshee: Probably front row, maybe back; will find out on media day Delirium: Doesn't matter Viking Fury: Back row, lake side Slingshot: Bier Garten Adventure Express: Back row The Racer: Front row, 3-1, or 5-2 Monster: Doesn't matter Scrambler: Doesn't matter Dodgem: Car 35 or 9 Zephyr: Smaller seats Flight of Fear: Front row Firehawk: Doesn't matter Vortex: 5-1 when I'm in the mood for it, park bench when I'm not WindSeeker: Outside seat Shake, Rattle, & Roll: Whichever arm starts spinning first, outside seat Backlot Stunt Coaster: Front row The Beast: Front or back row Kings Island & Miami Valley Railroad: As close to the front as I can get White Water Canyon: Doesn't matter Diamondback: Back row Race For Your Life, Charlie Brown: Front Flying Ace Aerial Chase: Back row Surf Dog: Back row, either side Woodstock Express: Back row Boo Blasters: Seat with a working gun Eiffel Tower elevator: Next to a window Grand Carousel: Horse that moves up and down That should cover everything in the dry side of the park outside of Planet Snoopy and select rides in Planet Snoopy. (edited to add three that I missed) Hmm. Changes are as follows: Invertigo: Park bench Drop Tower: Facing the Eiffel Tower Banshee: Row 8, preferably far right side Monster: I don't care as long as the car spins. I've spent each of the last several rides I've had on Monster staring at the arm without spinning. Vortex: Park bench, because even when I am in the mood for it, I still don't want to put up with the automatic headache Surf Dog: Back row, on the same side as the direction it rotates Everything else is still the same.
May 7, 201610 yr I prefer backseat on every coaster at Kings Island. The backseat provides the most thrill. The front would be my second favorite as it is more scenic.
May 7, 201610 yr Front seat no matter what I enjoy being able to see the track and the elements rather than staring at the back of someone's head.
May 8, 201610 yr Alright, let's review mine, then... Woodstock Express: the last row on Ghoster Coaster at Kings Dominion. ...Actually, wait. Nothing changed. That's still where I ride all of them.
May 8, 201610 yr My personal favorite seats so far:The Beast: 1-1 for night rides due to the view, but riding it from 5-2 the other day added to the intensity (I will probably do 6-2 at some point)Vortex: 5-1 of course.Diamondback: The very back seat- TONS of airtime back here. Banshee: Front Row Backlot Stunt Coaster: Front Row Adventure Express: 1-2 The Bat: Front Row Invertigo: Front Row (aka going backwards first- while you don't get the Face-to-Face aspect from this seat, it was much smoother to me here) For rides not listed here, either I have yet to ride them enough to make up my mind on what seat I'd want, don't care, or have never gotten around to riding them...
May 9, 201610 yr Front seat no matter what I enjoy being able to see the track and the elements rather than staring at the back of someone's head. I don't think that would be a problem when you ride Flight of Fear!
