^^ Before Paramount Story Tower Gardens was Tower Gardens! Yes you can plant new trees but I've always hated that concept. You can be careful now and have good mature trees, or you can plant trees and in 25 years you can have good mature trees.

Does anyone have any pictures of Tower Gardens before it was dug up? I can not for the life of me remember what this place looked like, and it's only been a couple years.

Google maps.....you can take a stroll through Tower Gardens on a nice summer day.

The now former Tower Gardens area seems too large for a funnel cake stand's patio. Even the Rivertown and I-Street LaRosa's patios, Juke Box's patio, or Chicken Shack's aren't that large. I could see 1 or 2 flats...maybe. I just don't want them ruining the area around Grand Carousel, which, IMO, is on my list of favorite areas in the park. If they do flats, no large flats please. I'd be okay with some unique landscaping there as well.

Totally agree.

I can't see them putting a flat there. I don't think that would be a good spot.

Thank you! Can't believe I didn't think of that.

It's a shame they'd get rid of so many trees. But kind of exciting to wonder about what's going to be there! I hope they'll keep at least some of the trees.

Thats true. I guess what I meant is more the type of trees. Maybe you want trees that blossum more or give more shade or smell a certain way. I totally get you on the mature tree part though.

I agree. Viking Fury is awesome where it is. However Oktoberfest needs some attention. Doesn't necessarily have to be a ride but some sort attraction to get people to come to that section of the park. Instead of just pass through.

I'd love to see a new dark ride at KI. I'm still waiting for them to put a new dark ride in the big metal box.

I've heard people talking about Der Spinning Keggers a lot on here. That wouldn't be too far from it's original location, would it? I'm wondering if maybe they'll do another one of those or another spinning barrel type ride.

As much as I would love for it to happen, I do not see them bringing Der Spinnen Keggers back, as the ride, model name "Drunken Barrels," was manufactured, and still is being manufactured to this day, by Intamin AG. And as we know, Cedar Fair has dropped Intamin for the time being. It would, however, be interesting to see them put a Tilt-a-Whirl in with maybe a barrel theme to it.

That Rivertown time lapse just made me think of something-

When did LaRosa's and Potato Works first grace Rivertown?

The Rivertown LaRosa's opened in 1973 as "Pizza Shop". Rivertown Potato Works opened sometime between 1975 and 1978.

I just discovered that Rivertown Potato Works opened in 1977.

Yes it's Intamin, but is the relationship between CF and Intamin so toxic that they wouldn't buy a 40+ year old tried and true model? It might be. I'm asking.

Something German themed, perhaps?

Well, they already removed the German Sausage Platter & Sauerkraut from the Dining Plan options; completely ridding the Festhaus of anything German-themed.

Did they remove it from Christian Moerlein Bier Garten? If so, that saddens me. I try to eat there almost everytime I visit the park.

Ouimet doesn't like Intamin, I'm suprised all of our installations weren't Vekomas considering their relationship with Disney. Kinzel at least changed up the manufactures of coasters during his short tenure with the Paramount Parks.

And now I just figured out that before Tower Gardens it looks like it was partially/wholly the area for the Inflatable Theater?

^ Lol

Wait! Did you hear that?? Yeah it sounds like wailing Banshee! Could it mean something? I would assume that it means that we are 35 days away from Opening Day at Kings Island, but that's just my guess.

I made this a little bit ago in my graphic design class and I was pretty happy with the results!

Their last minute change from established Star Flyers to Wind Seekers because the Star Flyer manufacturer spilled the beans on their contract with Cedar Fair seems foolish and petty now, doesn't it?

Well, if someone breaks the terms of a contract now, if you let it slide, what's to stop them from breaking more of the terms in the future?

No reason to do business with a company that doesn't keep its word.

^^ Yes from that standpoint I understand. However, the breach seems less than egregious to me, and certainly not worth going with an unestablished model.
