rlentless Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 This is an insane new generation of topspin type of ride. Not sure if this has already been posted, I could not find anywhere on KIC. https://www.yahoo.com/tech/s/m-getting-queasy-just-watching-insane-amusement-park-172145436.html 7 Quote
Thrill_Biscuit Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Wow! If that thing gets going fast enough, it'll fire you through a wormhole to Vega! 9 Quote
Thrill_Biscuit Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 That color scheme! That... beautiful, beautiful color scheme! 5 Quote
Voicetek Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 And...yeah, you would never see me get on something like that. Heck, even a Ferris wheel will give me motion sickness if it goes fast enough. I love coasters, but can't spin! 3 Quote
silver2005 Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 I'm fine with spinny rides, but that whole contraption to make everything spin looks awfully heavy. Not only does it have to handle the weight, but its shifting in a ton of different ways. I like the idea, but it looks like a future maintenance nightmare. 7 Quote
electricsun Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Wait...that's not a taffy puller? Paint mixer? Niddy-noddy? 4 Quote
RollerNut Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Oh darn, I thought this was about a new Tomb Raider movie. 3 Quote
Oldschool75 Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Too bad you wouldn't see the great colors in the box....whoops said too much 4 Quote
XGatorHead 8904 Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 That is, if I had several million dollars... But then, the maintenance costs would probably be horrible with all that weight being constantly redistributed. 5 Quote
CoasterDirected Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Looks great, but as others said before me, maintenance nightmare. 2 Quote
Steph88 Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 I think I'd prefer the original Top Spin, but this looks like SO much fun too! It'll be interesting to see if anyone in the U.S. installs one of these, and how it works out for them, as far as maintenance, etc. I really like the color scheme! (Edited for capitalization) 2 Quote
Tanna Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 And...yeah, you would never see me get on something like that. Heck, even a Ferris wheel will give me motion sickness if it goes fast enough. I love coasters, but can't spin! Took one look, and thought, "Mama, man the hose!" I'll bet the floor of that ride has more colors than the ride itself. 1 Quote
Oldiesmann Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 This is apparently a test run at the company's headquarters in Switzerland. I've never even heard of abc rides before, but that certainly is an interesting concept. (Also, note: "abc rides" is how the company capitalizes their name...) 2 Quote
