CoastersRZ Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 A new 16,000 square feet interactive water play structure is coming to Coney Island in 2016. It will include a 33 foot tall "Hydro Storm" that will dump more than 1,300 gallons of water at a time, making it the world`s largest Hydro Storm. It will also include two water slides. The attraction will be located in the northeast corner of Sunlite Pool, near the main parking entrance to the park. http://coneyislandpark.com/typhoon-tower 16 Quote
Oldiesmann Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 Great addition in my opinion and something the park can definitely use. Should be a big hit. 5 Quote

dtk1378 Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 According to Coney Island's website it is still this at least: http://coneyislandpark.com/sunlite-pool Originally built in 1925, Sunlite Pool is STILL the world's largest flat-surfaced, recirculating swimming pool 2 Quote
The Interpreter Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Now that's putting a rather fine qualification on it. It's also the world's largest pool in Hamilton County, Ohio. 4 Quote
CoastersRZ Posted December 12, 2015 Author Posted December 12, 2015 Just to put things into comparison locally, the Tidal Wave Bay wave pool at Kings Island holds 650,000 gallons of water. Sunlite Pool holds about 3.1 million gallons of water. All the water is fed into Sunlite pool from underground wells. 5 Quote
