diamonbackandbeastlover
I'm sure they will have some sort of signs and cones or something directing people more than just those little signs. Especially this first weekend where no one really will know what to do.
CoasterOhio
looks like Sweet Spot is getting blue ice cream popcorn! photo from the Kings Island Merchandise Twitter Page I'm not sure how I feel about this.
diamonbackandbeastlover
It is kinda wierd but I for sure will have to try it.
KIghostguy
Will the blue popcorn be sold on preview night? It certainly looks interesting and I'll have to try it.
diamonbackandbeastlover
I'd assume so seeing as it will be sold in Sweet Spot. I'd call the park to double check though.
Steph88
I've had flavored popcorn that looked similar to that before, and it was very good. The kind I got was Dr. Pepper flavored, with a candy shell. I bet blueberry would be good too!
kjkjkj
Taken from the KI Admissions and Guest Services twitter, could we be seeing an update to our entrance within the next year or two? Sent from my XT1031 using Tapatalk
rhyano
I would love to see a new entrance like the old Geauga Lake entrance, it looked really nice
CoastersRZ
I like the look of that sketch. Certainly would dress up the entrance. And I like the look of the flags. It is similar to the false front they constructed to the main entrance last year for Haunt.
upstop
Kind of looks like a Disney'World / Disneyland entrance. Very nice!
Scottzzz
I am still a little confused on the exact location and orientation of the new entrance. It's my understanding the south entrance is closed which I always use coming from Cincinnati and the new entrance is located near the north. Have they added entrance lanes for people driving north on Kings Island Dr or would it be best to get off on the next exit and drive south? Also, how will they handle all the people like me who mostly park at the Soak City lot? Would be crazy having to wait in the parking lot traffic to get to the other end.
Imperial79
I like that entrance too! Looks like I'm going to have to start following Kings Island Admissions and Guest Services!
Nicolasz
I'm not sure if I should start a new thread for this but it's a simple question: There is only one bring-a-friend day on May 8th within the KI website right now...... Will dates be announced in future or am I missing a bring a friend schedule? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Infinity
^^Most likely more dates will be announced in the future as it gets closer to supposed Bring-A-Friend Day. I'd keep a close eye on the website for future dates/events.

CoasterOhio
Is the south entrance closed? There is no more south entrance. There is only a north entrance that is completely new

I will be coming from the south as well, so as I understand it, you will still exit at KI Drive and, instead of veering off to the right to hit the south tolls, those lanes will now all feed into the new north toll entrance. No need to exit by GWL and drive south. Also, maybe it's just me, but wouldn't it be more clear for those automated lanes to read "Gold/Plat Passholders" instead of "self-scan?" since the daily tickets have a barcode, people with those tickets are likely to think that going through the automated lanes is permissible.
diamonbackandbeastlover
^ I think they could easily change the sign to gold/plat and pre-paid parking seeing as it is automated it is probably just the click of a couple buttons to flip it out if it does start to cause issues.

Now you will pass the park coming from the south and turn right just past the old north entrance, past a new entry plaza sign and continue to circle past the graveyard to the new toll plaza. From here you will be facing south from the north lot.

Magenta Lizard
As I understand it, it is "self scan" rather than "season pass" because people who have purchased parking in advance online will also be able to scan their print-outs.
IBEW_Sparky
That, is very good to know, and answered a question I had in my head concerning that very thing. Thank you.
freaks76
I'm guessing if you want to upgrade to preferred parking you can't use the self-scan. I guess that's logical.
upstop
I'm wondering what will happen if you are in the "wrong" lane.... Logic says that you should be able to go through any line to process for parking. I hope that this is the case and that people won't try to cross 12 lanes of traffic at the last second to get to the gate that they assume they MUST be in and cause an accident.
IBEW_Sparky
Yes, exactly that!! That was why I was poo-poo ing any kind of "automated" lines without some form of human at the booth as well. I hate to be this way, but lets be blunt and honest, there is no way to sufficiently "dumb down" the automated system to cover all possibilities.
Italian Job 2005
My guess is that at the lanes that at the "self-scan" lanes you will also be able to purchase preferred or standard parking, but it would act like an automated Kiosk, and would maybe take only credit card.
malem
The picture posted earlier in this thread showed self-scan lanes adjacent to regular lanes. Perhaps this is done so that there's a nearby associate to help those having trouble with the machine.
KIDB
I have to say, if I have a choice of self-scan or a human, I will choose the human. I love being greeted by a cheerful associate, it truly starts the day off right for us. It's something I would miss. TombRaiderFTW
Self-scan also seems like a surefire way of avoiding situations in those hours later in the day when there are no parking attendants at the booths, and people are driving straight through without paying for parking... TRFTW, observing.
Thrill_Biscuit
I noticed drop-gates (or "swing barriers?). Don't seem to remember those on the old entrance plazas.
