A child's first coaster. Might as well be an Intamin to get them ready for the love they will have for the mfg and coasters.

TheFloppyDisc Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 1 minute ago, ThrillKingsFitzy said: Why the tallest first? My guess is they will try to move the cranes as little as possible for building the helix so they may work from right to left when building it?
Legofan237 Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 Another support is being added to the tallest one 1
collin.klopfstein Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 How tall is the turnaround supposed to be?! This support is tall 1
Maverick44 Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 This is a helix not a turn around lol. Someone said its just over 100ft. i think they are putting this side together first so the cranes arn't stuck in. they need to exit under the lift hill.

Enchanted Voyage Lover Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 I can’t believe we'll be riding this puppy in less than 3 months. 5
Maverick44 Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 Next support going in. On the far side of the support they finished! 2
Kodistict Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 It's crazy to think that this helix is exactly as tall as Dueling Dragons was. 3
Gplez90 Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 Looks like the station is getting some kind if wrap on the roof that’s the same color as the track. Initially i thought it was paint. 2

Maverick44 Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 i mean it could be plastic or fiberglass panels? Also it wouldn't be a wrap because over time it would rip and fade real bad in the sun? Could be paint though. lol 1
Maverick44 Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 Entire top half of second helix support being lifted into place. 2
Waltny Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 47 minutes ago, Maverick44 said: Entire top half of second helix support being lifted into place. They are still working by the looks of it. I wonder if they must be on a tight time schedule to get done. This is where the support is in relationship to the lift from past images. I took this around 430ish. 8
Beast Night Rider Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 Yeah they must be working overtime bc they’re still out there with some big lights allowing them to work. I took this screenshot about 30 mins ago showing the 2 tallest helix supports. I think the helix looks a lot bigger than it did in the rendering. 5

I feel like they’re getting close to a deadline, and weather this weekend is likely gonna hinder that. If you look back, both Banshee and Diamondback (Not sure about Mystic Timbers) were done with track erection the last week of January. They may be trying to get this thing complete in the next 10 days or so. 9

I saw that on the cam too, it’s surprising to see the current pacing of construction. That next support should be to the left of the one on my image. 2
LovinMeSomeBanshee Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 It looks like they’re actually working this morning. Has to be awful conditions with the wind and rain. 4
Enchanted Voyage Lover Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 Another support going up. They must be on a strict completion date to be working in these conditions. 4

Also, that was a cool fact about the helix being as tall as Dueling Dragons. I never got to ride it back in the day as when I went to IOA in '02 (?), I was going through this weird phase where I didn't ride coasters with lift hills (yes, I'm serious! ) as I got "stuck" on The Beast's first lift (looking back, it was probably a block brake or something routine) and it traumatized me. In other news, I did ride Hulk and that was amazing; I always remember seeing it advertised in magazines back in the day. Finally, guess they still haven't taken Winterfest stuff down lol! collin.klopfstein Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 Roof is almost completely painted 5
CoastersRZ Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 I doubt the roof is "being panted". More likely, they are installing standing seam metal roof panels, which were painted in the factory prior to arrival on site. 4
Hawaiian Coasters 325 Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 It turns out at NCC, it was asked why Orion was not a record breaking ride, here's Don's answer: Source: https://wgntv.com/2020/01/18/kings-island-shares-new-orion-roller-coaster-updates-and-construction-photos/ 4 1 1
